I think you can’t say enough how awesome Ruby is. ❤ Unlike other characters in this genre, she’s determined, confident, smart, and honest. She knows what she wants and doesn’t let anyone, not even someone like James Beaufort (attractive, popular, powerful, and rich), intimidate her. Plus, she’s big enough to apologize to him when she crosses the line. That’s why James falls for her so quickly and completely. Unlike him, she knows what she wants from life, while he’s living a life others want for him. I find that really well-done and believable. I’m often annoyed by female characters in this genre because they’re usually naive, indecisive, and easily influenced.

Aaah, that apology scene is such a change of dynamics, I love it. 🙂 Elaine is Alistair’s sister and the girl he woke up next to in the first episode. 😬

I don’t understand the the dislike towards Colin he’s literally the most unproblematic out of the brothers. He’s just a lover boy who’s trying to fit in with society. He has never treated pen bad besides that one comment he made but their literally meant to be together 😭 I just want to gatekeep him.

Girl, I didn’t like Colin at first, as you said he seemed a bit off, like so pretentious… I also thought Penelope deserved better tbh…but she knows what she wants, and as the season goes by you’ll notice they’re literally meant to be together. I hope hope hoooope they make justice to their book, this story in particular is *chefs kiss* 🫶🏻

I thought Rachel Ziegler was great in this. The hate for her is unjustified.

Nicholas Galitzine is actually a very talented singer, he actually sang all of August Moon songs and the song that Hayes sang on the Graham Norton show 5 years later. You should definitely listen to the movie soundtrack, Nicholas sang most of the songs in the movie. Also Nick was the only actor in August Moon who actually sang all of the group's songs, all the other members in the band are just dancers, they don't sing. So Nick's voice had to be changed & layered in some parts to make it sound like the other members also sang, when in fact it was just Nick singing. Nick's real voice is incredible, the song he sang 5 years later really showcases his real vocal talent.

24:06 Yes, he is wearing a wig in that shot! Nicholas Galitzine bleached his hair for the role of Henry, and went back to his natural brown after filming was done for RW&RB to play George Villiers in "Mary & George", so when he was called in to re-shoot this scene, his hair was the wrong colour for Henry and also too long. They chose to use a wig, rather than bleach & cut it, because that would have messed everything up for M&G (and poor Nick's hair and scalp).

The actors were so deep into their characters during the scene where Alex confronts Henry in the Kensington Palace bedroom that they both started crying for real when they were filming!

So happy you liked this movie I loved it as a kid always made my friends watch it at sleepovers

The way the weapons look here are more like the are how I envisioned them to look when I read the first Hunger Games book, way before the movies. Crude and makeshift, not chrome and tactical. I love how it's a blend of irony, humor, and poetic justice that it was a girl from District 12 who molded Snow into what he became, and it was another girl from District 12 who would be his undoing. I would like to see another book about the 25th Hunger Game, but done in a way where we have more than one person to root for. Make a lot them more fleshed instead of just a few important characters while the rest are just one-dimensional paper people.
