I love dead by daylight
For anyone who's feeling cocky, here's a build I cooked up, I call it the "overconfidence" build: Boon: Illumination Overzealous Hyperfocus Fogwise The reason it's called the overconfidence build is because your success relies on not getting hit AND hitting great consecutive skill checks. At the start of the match, you find a totem and boon it with Illumination (picked this one because you can boon faster after you get hit, plus good for solo queue to give teammates info). Now you have a gen-repair boost from Overzealous until you get hit. Find a generator and hit great skill checks in a row for really fast progress with the Hyperfocus + Overzealous combo, and to see the killer from anywhere in the map with Fogwise. If you see them getting close, you can avoid chase using the info from Fogwise. If you get hit, use the boon speed buff from Illumination to quickly reactivate Overzealous. Overall, this can go really great or really wrong, no in-between. Lmk if you tried this and whether or not you liked it.
I messed around with overzealous a while back. Genuinely has some potential to be a great perk, and I think this build is great
people get mad when someone stops them from "playing silly guitar" but this silly guitar can actually totally genrush the whole game. so yes. im not allowing survivors to end playing when i play killer. its still a perk.
It's insane that when this character was created decades ago it was originally meant to be "Laura Croft". It was changed to "Lara" beacause the feeling was that American audiences would struggle to pronounce "Laura". Here we are in 2024 with Americans being unable to pronounce "Lara" and instead saying "Laura". You can't make it up.
I think I switch back a fourth a bunch throughout the vid. I blame the americans
‘Has this ever happened to you?’ And it shows a case where the perk wouldn’t change anything ‘Or how about this?’ And shows a second situation where the same perk would still do nothing
It's meant to show getting hit when you shouldn't be, but you're right. I was already hurt in both clips, but +20% would have got me over in both cases
@@nspgcertifiedit’s coolsies the video was still a fun watch I just wanted to point out the silly hehe.
"i see you man" *cuts to being hooked* got me lol
I just run object of obsession
Does bardic inspiration only give bonus progression towards GREAT skill checks, or ordinary skill checks?
They do not need to be great skillchecks, the buff is applied to all successful skillchecks, this includes things like pig traps, closing demo portals, and I'm sure a lot more
1:40 "The best generator perk prove thyself"😂😂 Resilience > prove thyself Prove thyself is garbage here is why It gives you 10% but you already get -15% progress speed when you do a generator with another survivor which is why the progress bar turns red when 2 survivor are on it Even if you had the old 15% prove thyself it's still useless because it just cancels the passive -15% slow from doing gens with 2+ people So doing gens separately is way better, especially with resilience since it gives you 9% and there's no -15% slow down when you do a gen alone Also resilience gives you 9% to vaulting, healing, totems, exit gates on top of gens so Resilience > prove thyself
What if it's an Oni? Or the killer is running thana? Personally love resilience, but saying it's the best gen perk doesn't work for me
@@nspgcertified Oni is perfect if you run resilience and dead hard. Since dead hard is the only perk that will counter Oni, michael, ghostface etc. Any killer that would normally one hit Resilience isn't just a gen perk, it's arguably the best chase perk
I've been running, buffed iron will/dramaturgy, windows/kindered, leader/prove thyself and blast mine/plot twist/flashbang
My go-to build lately has been iron will, balanced landing, distortion, and some other filler perk like botany/desperate measures/leader for utility or altruism. I really like using balanced with iron will because most maps have at LEAST one spot where it can be used, and if not iron will makes it so much harder for the killer to find/chase you :)
Having to mind game the killer in the lobby is crazy
or simply pick up the item and put it in a corner after u use it out
I like to put empathic connection with auto didactict, I feel it is important for others to see me, get the heal fast, then get back into the action
Honestly. I have no problem with it. I thought it was a weird combo cause i won most of the time with killers with these builds lol😅.
Yeah it's not necessarily the strongest every game, but sometimes it will roll you
I don’t have any tips I just want to be included
They also use Lethal Pursuer alongside the previous 3 perks, notifying the killer of their location and for 2 seconds afterwards with an aura.
Didn't even think about that, great comms
Why is solo queue how we're meant to play the game? The main appeal for many people is to play with people and have fun goofing off. Meanwhile solo queue is a crap shoot where more often than not you get someone trolling or killing themselves on hook.
I'd argue playing with friends makes the game significantly less scary, at least in the beginning. Once you get past that point, I feel like playing too much swf gets repetitive. You can only set up a head on play so many times before it stops being absolutely hilarious (I haven't gotten to that point tho, and I hope I never do) as for solo queue, yes it's a crap shoot but that's why it's great. Truly no game is the same in solo queue, and it lets you focus on the micro parts of the game, instead of the macro
People killing themselves on first hook is a problem though. I hope bhvr can find a way to fix that because it's truly the biggest problem with solo Queue atm
I mostly play killer. No matter the game, if someone plays bardic, I let them live.
a technical note is that the mismatched audio from the clips is super distracting. otherwise solo q is very predictable once you get locked into high mmr because you know every killer will bring slowdown and/or try to tunnel the weakest or the first person they hooked if you played for long enough. not to mention the main issue is that everyone coming into the match can have different goals, most people want to win but others want to do challenges and such, which if fine to an extent until you realize how mistreated casual players are. not just in the community but in the game aswell, whats the point of bringing a meme build if you're just gonna sit on gens or get tunnelled out of the game immediately anyway. i think a good balance of info and utility perks is the best approach in solos. ofcourse my views are impacted by my own experience in the game and im sure you have more faith left in the game than i do so view this as an old man yapping about the core issues he has with his once favorite past time
I rewatched and didn't hear any mismatch in the audio. Most, if not all of the clips are supposed to have no audio, so if you can timestamp it I'd appreciate it. I agree that it gets less random at higher MMR, but If you're good in chase and have good game sense, you can move off of the stronger perks. I went probably 6 months without using exhaustion perks because I didn't want to rely on them to cover up my mistakes. I tried playing comp & yeah that's how killers play the game there, but I don't see it much in solo Q. Maybe that's just my low MMR idk. I think the meme builds are essential, because if you're right and every game is a miserable sweat fest, then we need different ways to have fun. If I die head on'ing a iron maiden user, then so be it. Good way to go imo. I agree about a good mix of info and utility, just don't forget to have fun as well. That's why we're here afterall. Also, personally I quit and came back, so I guess you could say I do have more faith, but that's because when I did stop playing, it was not fun. It's come a long way since then. You're welcome to ramble here any time old man, I appreciate the comment <3
Hey mate fellow DBD enjoyer nice to see another killer game, most days you see nothing but survivor
Yeah I'm working towards a balance of both. It's just that the killer stuff is more difficult for me because most of my hours are on Steve, and there's already so many great killers out there, I'm a little late to the party lol
perk combo: bond and everything else
Keep it hush hush, but lucky star is better than bond imo
Really good video you make high quality stuff man! Keep up and you will be famous in no time good luck!
Appreciate the kind words, nowhere to go but up 💪
one build i've found fun is the medic build with aftercare, botany, desperate measures, and bite the bullet. since everyone you heal can see you & vice versa, injured survivors run to you like you have circle of healing up.
How often do you not get aftercare value though? Just curious, I always thought that perk would be really good if more people used it. If you like healing tho, didact is getting a buff. Def worth trying out
@@nspgcertified i've incorporated autodidact into a medic build a couple times, its just a lil unreliable. but to answer your question, i always get value from aftercare bc i go for saves. (btw the heal takes maybe 6-8 seconds)
I use bardic inspiration + blast mine + deja vu + flashbang or adrenaline
Goated
i always run adrenaline, bond and windows and put a wildcard as my fourth perk - sometimes balanced landing, sometimes something like wicked
How often do you run wicked and get value from it? It seems like a riskier didact but I haven't really given it a chance yet
@@nspgcertified hmm even if you dont get basement value from it you will always get value from the 20s aura read, i’ve never used basement unhook with it though so its a bit gimmicky, but fun!
My current solo que build is: 1-Deja vu: Really good for repair speed and it helps me to navigate the map( assuming your teammates are on gens) or to not get 3 genned. 2-Dramaturgy: The most fun and unique exhaustion perk in my opinion. It may give exposed or a good item if your lucky. 3-Streanght in shadows: Personally i consider this one of the most consistent self-healing perks for solo. Pretty risky to reset one health state in the basement, but can provide info on the killer whereabouts, especially in a situation where everybody else is slugged on the ground and you're the last standing survivor. Plus it combines well with dramaturgy. 4-Windows of opportunity: I recommend this to understand better pallet and window placements on every map.
Great build. Only thing I'm not sold on is strength. Consistent yes, but running to basement any time you get injured can be a huge time waste. Didn't realize it showed the killers aura though. Is it really that much better than just running a medkit?
Hard agree on the other 3 though. Windows and Deja are probably the 2 best aura reading perks, and dramaturgy just makes me happy, even when I get exposed lmao
@@nspgcertified Probably not better than a medkit, but at least it's infinite. Also dramaturgy can give you a medkit with strong add ons.
Ok so I've been evaluating perk strength and the difference between SWF and solo and things that I've found: 1. Exhaustion perks are the best perks in the game by a considerable margin, solo or SWF. 2. Perks that you think would improve solo queue are sometimes not as impactful as you would think. Kindred and Boon: Circle of Healing were perfect examples because when I brought these perks, they didn't help if a teammate couldn't survive on their own. It's like being on a airplane, make sure your mask is secure before assisting others. 3. Perks that made looping better like Windows and Resilience were only decent, but again seemed to need exhaustion to reach their full potential/max survivability. 4. Some perks are really hard to play around in solo, like For The People, or Deliverance. FTP because people don't hold still and Deliverance because your teammates naturally want to save you and don't know if you have this perk. 5. In solo queue, the only perk that would consistently save people from a situation where they didn't want to die was Decisive Strike. If the killer knew someone had OTR, they would tunnel off hook to make sure it didn't come into play. 6. Having totem finding perks is massively underrated. A large percentage of my games would result in the killer quickly getting Devour or keeping Ruin all game and killing everyone. With the nerf of Pop and Pain Res, it's possible we may see a meta shift in the future. 7. Unbreakable and slugging in general didn't seem to matter or come in to play unless as a team (solo or SWF) we made a massive mistake. Bringing resetting perks like Self Care/Botany, Inner Strength, Plot Twist, and We'll Make It typically kept slugging out of the picture almost completely. This makes me think that solo or SWF, the top 5 perks in order as of pre-Lara Croft patch are, in order: 1. Sprint Burst (denies pressure vs 80% of the cast in majority of games played) 2. Lithe (denies pressure vs. 80% of the cast in majority of games played) 3. Decisive Strike (mitigates pressure) 4. Dead Hard (mitigates pressure, great against higher tier killers/range killers and synergizes with Decisive Strike) 5. (Controversial) Detective's Hunch. Here me out. If totems are getting really good and you can't find them, this basically reveals those and the generators too. Deja Vu only saves 5.4 seconds per gen, Detective's basically gives you totem and gen information so it's a better deja vu. It's one of the most objective centered perks in the game, can be synergize with maps, inner strength, counterforce, overzealous. It's actually quite insane and I can't believe nobody uses it. That's all I got do with the information what you will.
love all the info, you can comment any time <3 agree about almost everything. Exhaustion perks are far and away the best perks in the game, no surprise there. But the way I see them is just as "get to a pallet" perks. If you know where the pallets are, and have good pathing, they aren't necessary. Unless its a stealth killer. LOVE the detectives hunch take. I don't think it's better than Deja, because you get the 3% bonus on highlighted gens, but if the meta does shift off of slowdown like you suggested, I could see it becoming the most used perk
2 good locker/head on builds are head on, quick and quiet, flash bang, and balst mine or u could u deseption which is also fun
i've been playing around with Red Herring recently, could use that also
Fast down recovery Plot twist Unbreakable Soul guard Boon exponential With a map to track totems Place boon in an area the killer is least to come by or the top of any building structure Use plot twist to heal to full hp and soul guard to get a solid escape against any one shot killer in end game.
interesting. How quickly are you able to pick yourself back up with this? Is it fast enough to actually use soul guard?
Pure tank build Dead hard Mettel of man Counter force Inner strength A map to track killer belongings and a stamp add on for range This build allows you to get into a chase to take hits and run away to heal yourself in a locker in only 8 seconds Counterforce shortens the time used to clease totem everytime you get rid of one increasing its speed and reducing lost time Mettle of man being able to allow you to save in the end game hook without needed a second survivor for help Dead hard allowing you to get one more protection hit after being hooked and mettle needs one more hit for it to activate, dead hard can be used to get that last hit Build makes you tanky and helps those in chase if the killer doesn't commit to you Also counters hex builds since you clease totems super fast Build will lose a lot if totems become too hard to find and you lose map to Franklin's
love this. I've always struggled with mettle of man, could really only use it in sabo builds. def giving this a try
Flashlight runner build Champion of light Fixated Built to last Sprint burst Green or purple flashlight with green batter and item efficiency This build allows you to run while blinding the killer and can also be used to move fast in a chase when you need that few seconds for sprint burst to come off exhaustion and run away faster. This build also allows you to punish killers who keep looking at you especially killers who have to aim Trickster and Deathslinger suffers fhe most as they have to look at you to use their ability but they'll be blinded and slowed down at the same time, It can also be used to go side to side quickly as this isn't sprinting and so there's very little slow down going left to right.
Fav builds of mine for solo-queue (dumb names included) Personal Go-To: Sprint Burst, Bardic Inspiration (/Leader), Deja Vu, Windows of Opportunity. Spider-Man: Alert, Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, Resilience or (/Flash Bang) “Patrick no!!”: Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Babysitter, Kindred Simple Tricks: Lithe, Quick & Quiet, Clairvoyance, Inner Strength. (10/10 for getting hatch/past hatch) Adventure Time: Balanced Landing, Plunderer’s Instinct, Bond, Champion of Light
Premonition is more spider man than alert but that perks cooldown being 30 holds it back 20 second cooldown would make it a valid universal perk
Resilience, iron will, dead hard, made for this Using that for 90% of solo queue You just became better at chase, have optional to get another chance in chase and became 3% faster So, while injured to be more safely - iron will Another one, anti slug/safely pick up by made for this. Other 10% using hyperfocus, stake out etc
The build I've been running is deja vu, prove thyself, lithe, and empathy. Deja vu helps prevent 3 gens and that plus prove thyself is like a mini gen rush, lithe because its a very reliable exhaustion perk, and then empathy is very all purpose. In general, its good for knowing where the killer is, because the person getting chased will likely get hit at some point and then for the rest of the chase you know where the killer is. Empathy can then also be used for heals, sabo, flashlight saves, whatever depending on your item
love empathy. It's a must have in my sabo builds. You haven't truly experienced fun until you've gotten a sabo save you shouldn't have by using background player and breakout. Can't do that without empathy
im still getting slugged/tunneled by sweaty killers its boring having to run anti-slug and anti-tunnel just to play the game only for my teammates to die with windows of oppertunity or predrop every pallet yeah bro im having so much fun as a survivor main edit : i took a break 2 days after anni, im waiting for the babysitter + borrowed time update to drop only good thing from this patch im actually exicted about
sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking, what parts of the game do you enjoy? Gotta be having fun at least SOMEWHERE, right?
@@nspgcertified playing in a swf Only way i dont have to run pure anti loadouts
I think every perk could be described as "anti" to some degree. Excited for babysitter aswell though, I love when shit perks get reworked, but I don't know if it'll be better than otr
My main build rn is Autodidact (my favorite perk) Kindred, Hyperfocus and either Fogwise or Stakeout (usually Fogwise) been thinking about usually Bardic instead idk tho lol
I'm def biased, but Bardic is great rn. 100% have to try it out
I don't bring items, mostly as I dont feel like putting BP into survivors when my killers need their add-ons. And I am more of a killer player than a survivor player (maybe 66% vs 33%?)
You should start bringing items. Even gray ones are better than nothing. Medkits specifically are great since the change to the charges
@@nspgcertified Medkits aren't good for me as I use a dedicated medic build and Botany Knowledge will burn through those medkits like nothing else.
Adrenaline, Any Means Necessary, Resilience, Sprint Burst. It's disgusting they don't allow solo queue to be better with in match communication of any form, or at the VERY LEAST basekit kindred (but no killer aura)/seeing teammate builds. Not only does Identity V do all that and more, but Dead by Daylight MOBILE does too 🥴 the adrenaline nerf basically TARGETS solo queue, it's near unusable in it now. The perk Knock Out also feels like it directly targets solo queue but wouldn't do much against a survive with friends team, and it makes no sense to me... bhvr's incompetence is so off-putting
Love any means. W perk. Idk about adrenaline being unusable, more so this is always how it should have worked. Unless there's another change I missed, it's just that it doesn't activate on hook anymore right? & For knock out, I see it more as anti Sabo. Nobody can go for the save before the hook if they don't know where it is. Just a simple way for killers to not have to worry about it as much
@@nspgcertified the adrenaline thing isn't a big deal, it's just that before you didn't have to rely on teammates priming gens for it like almost at all but now you do, and the amount of times I've seen it just go wasted because they have no idea I have it and pop it when I'm on hook or just about to finish mending or something 🫤 also with knock out isn't it basically just useful if the survivors don't have comms, for your reason as well? I mean it'd be slightly useful but it wouldn't be difficult to tell your team where you are, I've only seen it used to make slugging more miserable in solo q
this video was awesome! i really thoroughly enjoy the thumbnails- they both manage to catch my eye and look really clean. every time i see a video of yours pop up i'll click on it and immediately be saddened by how many subscribers you have because the quality of your videos doesn't match how many views or subscribers you should be getting. keep it up! also as i was typing this i saw the ending and LOL that's so unfortunate, that got a good laugh out of me
Build I been using for months now is Resilience, Deja Vu, Iron Will and Hope and i tend to get value from every perk (except hope) every single match. Hope is to hopefully guarantee the escape after the gates are done
bet you're looking forward to the new update huh?
@@nspgcertified100% Lara is going to be my new main as well
Tbh this combo sucks, me and my team take big advantage from killers not having 4 gen perks and just loop and rush them, It's not strong at all.
it doesn't do too well against swf to be fair
My usual build is Windows, Autoditact, the one that shows your aura to injured survivors, and the bardic perk. This build is by far the most fun I have in this game. Sometimes I also run plot twist over the aura perk. Basically I'm a huge fan of the "fun" perks lol
BLUE????????????????????
didn't realize it starts with that one lmao
Great video! 😊😊😊
thankyou!
Stop fucking telling people my build
