How To Install Ceiling Fan In Any Room | DIY
Where did you purchase your studs?
Lowe’s 🤙
What was the final cost for materials?
Around 1500
So nothing behind the cement board
Just the metal studs
Where did you get the fire bricks?
Hey check your local masonry supply
Good job man! Looks good so I been looking at same company to do my counters outside. How’s it held up?? And are you still happy with them?
Hey yea I was super happy with the company and the product. I just made the mistake of ordering the wrong size clips and didn’t want to wait for replacements. Overall very pleased with
Safety glasses dude?

Good morning, is the base all cinder blocks or did you use a cinder block border and some type of fill? Thanks in advance.
Yes base is all cinderblock on top of concrete slab
@@WinnyDaddyDIY Thank you!
@@WinnyDaddyDIY Ooops I replied from my family account (bigtank). Thanks again!!!!
I hope you own this house Man that's sick ✌🏽
Haha thanks
Love the panel boards you are puting undet the beds! We never have anything like that at any storea in our area. Where did you get them?
I purchased sheets from Lowe’s 48-in x 96-in Beaded White Mdf Wall Panel www.lowes.com/pd/Style-Selections-48-in-x-96-in-White-Wainscot-Wall-Panel/5014192279
Looks awesome!
Thank you!
I want to do this project. Need to know the block count an the plans. Could u help a brother out.
I purchased the plans from backyardflare. I think it was $30-$40. Included is a list of supplies and estimated cost. Obviously overall cost depends on finishes, additional labor, etc. I highly advise purchasing the plans as he included tips and tricks and is also a great resource for any questions you might have. Happy building

Nice job dad. They're remember their dad built them their room for the rest of their lives.
Thanks 🤙
You may want to put more posts on the stairs in between all the current posts. So the girls don't stick their heads in there and get stuck.
If it keeps them in their room maybe it’s worth it? Lol
Hi. I'm using the same cement boards to cover where I removed an exterior door. Question. Do I have to use thinset for the tape mesh and also to cover the whole boards or do I need a different product? Thank you
Hey I'd probably consult with a contractor haha. Depending on where your door is you want to make sure you insulate, flash, and create a vapor barrier to keep moisture out. I'm not aware of cement board being used for this type of application. Good luck!
Awesome job, Thank you for sharing !!
Thanks!
Which plan from backyardflare are you building? Great work.
Hey using the PIMA II plan with slight chimney modification.
@@WinnyDaddyDIY Good deal, that's the one I'm looking at. Due to the weight, how thick is your concrete pad under the fireplace?
4in
Would have liked to have seen how you framed out the base with the metal studs, I’m about to do one very similar
For sure. Started filming progress after framing was finished. There is a little bit on framing/cement board in the first outdoor kitchen video 🤙. I was able to find a couple other framing/kitchen videos here on UA-cam.
Cant thank you enough for this series of videos, now I can make my own and save $$$$! Great work. Please show some photos of the stucco job, I always leave that to the pros.
Appreciate it! ua-cam.com/users/shortsDuGVd1p9Xhk?feature=share
keep it up. looks good so far
Great work! Man! Way to show the real hard work that is involved when doing a project like this. I had to admit that at first, I thought that the mantel would cause problems with time, but it looked solid. Do you have a list of materials and estimated cost? Thank you!
Appreciate it. Yea not gonna lie, this was one of my most challenging and labor intensive projects haha. Checkout backyardflare.com for fireplace plans and material list w estimate cost. Not including the stucco labor, materials all in was about $1500-1800. Depends on the finishes you want.
@@WinnyDaddyDIY Which design from backyard flare did you choose? Also, curious to know if you put fire brick on the top of the inside?
Gorgeous. Why liquid nails and not firebrick mortar?
Don’t need too much to get a good bond. Also adheres quickly. Was tired of using mortar by the end of this project haha.
@@WinnyDaddyDIYthe glue isn’t for high heat though
Is there a rule on the firebox size & how tall the chimney should be for it to draw properly?
I’m sure there is. Because it’s outside and I’m just burning gas I wasn’t too worried about it.
Nicely done.
Thanks
You deserve more views/likes bro. Great video, working on mine and I needed this 💯
Haha thanks. Good luck on your project. Would love to see what you’re tackling
That's a 32" fire box. That will take alot of wood to make a descent fire in it. I'm thinking of building a smaller version of it instead. I think 24" wide by 20 high will be plenty for what I want on the patio.
I could be worng but isnt it a 48" wide fire box. Since each cinder block is 16", with 3 wide would be 48?
@@lionsmane4468 perhaps, but still way too big for my taste.
Yea definitely big if you’re planning on burning wood. I went with the gas HBurner and it puts out some good heat with the lava rock. Wanted lower maintenance with the same effect. Good luck on your project!
Another dad on UA-cam put the gas in as a starter for his wood burning fireplace that was 43”. It put out the heat he was looking for. I’d love this sort if thing running a heat exchanger through it and under some built in seats or the patio floor.
Thanks for the video. Do you have pics of the final product? Would love to see how you finished it! Thanks
Thanks! Final video will be coming soon!
@@WinnyDaddyDIY Id also like to see the final product!
THIS
Hey ,great work Also looking to get a similar fireplace built but not sure how to cap on the top of chimney...do you have any pics or video showing how you finish it . Thanks
Hey! I was debating what to do as well. Ended up putting a little stucco sloping away from the chimney so water runs off. I’m also planning on putting a spark arrester similar size of the opening to prevent water or anything else from going down chimney. Final video will be coming soon!
This is amazing, Do you have a set of plans you were going off or just winging it?
Thanks. Actually bought the plans off of backyardflare. Slightly modified to fit my design.
Awesome, Thank you!
How come you didnt motar the sides of the blocks?
I’m doing a stucco finish aver the entire chimney so I didn’t think it mattered. All those will eventually be filled.
Keep up the good work and don’t forget to wear gloves when touching concrete mix.
Definitely 🤙
Beautiful!!
