Because of doing Kendo in Socal, i have a lot of American Japanese friends. A few of them also tried to live in Japan. After 3 to 5 years they returned. They said something similar. As for going through divorce. I went through a whole life reset after divorce from a 20 year marriage. I remember starting in a little small one bedroom apartment. Just take it slow and don’t beat yourself up. It took me 5 years to recover financially and mentally. You will do well… take it slow with dating… don’t rush in to another relationship. I didn’t start dating till after the pandemic ( i work in a hospital) which was 7 years after my divorce. But i was ready both financially and mentally. Btw, my son just converted his accounting degree to mathematical engineering. But yeah he told me because he already completed his undergraduate, he couldn’t get a lot of grants anymore. But he worked as an accountant sold he could afford it. But he just finished after 2 years and he just got hired at Lockheed Martin. So don’t worry, you will do well!
