Radwagon Transformation: The Ultimate Bike Upgrade

BBS02 With a Larger Chain Ring - Doesn't Kill It
Переглядів 4,3 тис.2 роки тому
The gears were skipping on my Radwagon 4 so I added a new bigger front chainring in order to use more of the rear gears. I cruise in 6th gear now. 44t to 48t! I'd heard that a Bafang BB02 could be killed with the larger chain ring. That hasn't been my experience thus far. #bafang #ebike #radpowerbikes #morepower lunacycle.com/bafang-bbs02-chainring-44-46-48-or-52-tooth/
Radwagon 4 Upgrade - The seat sucks, let's make it better

The RadWagon 4 has a terrible seat. It turns out that you can pretty easily install a shock absorbing seat post. That's what I'm doing here. www.amazon.com/dp/B08LQ39FLV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Get the 30.9 x 350mm version. Fits like a glove.

Building California - Transport Fever 2 - Episode 1

If we had started earlier, could we have built a better transportation network in California? We're a state with lots of potential. Can we tap it? In this episode we start a rail network for California in 1895. In ten years we've connected the central valley's abundant food supply to the Bay Area!

Radwagon 4 Upgrade - Tire Slime

Radwagon 4 Upgrade - Tire Slime At time of filming Radpower is out of the tubes for the Radwagon 4. I love the bike, but the custom tires and tubes make me nervous. I'm taking a little extra precaution and putting slime in the tires. What an easy upgrade for the Radwagon! If I can do it, you can do it too! Radwagon 4 Upgrade: Upcycling a RadWagon 4 Deckpad (Passenger Seat) - DIY #Ebike
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 роки тому
The Deckpad was out of stock on the Rad website when I bought my Radwagon 4. But they do ship the bike with a ton of packaging. For just a couple of dollars in fence board, straps, and vinyl covering I made my own seat for the kiddos. Radwagon 4 upgrades are super easy! Tools: Staple Gun Scissors Utility Knife Material: RadWagon Packaging Fence Board Fabric/Vinyl Double Sided Tape
Would you please tell me what size mid drive motor you installed? I mean the bottom bracket size. Was it the 68mm-73mm, or the 100mm size?
i like your running boards. good job.
Mine did that too. Take a link out of the chain, or relube chain, white lightning wax is by far the best.
What’s up man did your boat still float after doing this?
Super nice
Why not use the bamboo decks?
why do you have weights on the bafang??
Answered several oft questions thanks!❤️🚴💥
Hello, I'm pretty late but as an owner of a cargo bike with BBSHD I have a warm tipp for you. The chain skipping is probably caused by the weight of the bike and I'm pretty sure the cassette or the chain (or both) are worn out already. To reduce the stress on motor, chain and cassette you should rather use so called hill/mountain cassette with 14-32T or 13-30 teeth. You will loose some top speed but there will be much less stress on the internals of the motor. The nylon sprocket for instance suffers if you ask for so much torque and also the ball bearings (there are 4 or 5 of them) will wear out much faster. Even the battery has a hard time when the controller pulls up to 25A all the time and I could bet speed wise there is not much difference even with 4 extra teeth in the front; at least on the flat. Hill climbing capabillities are also reduced with a bigger chain ring. I would recommend to use the old 42T chain ring and a cassette with maximum 13 or 14T on the smallest sprocket. The bike will feel much snappier, you get much better acceleration, the motor would run with better efficiency, less stress on motor and battery and the only downside would be that the top speed is maybe reduced by 3-5ml's or so but most of the time you would reach the same speed as always.
Nice to see a mid drive installed. Did you keep the original wheel with hub motor on and just disconnect it to use as a regular wheel?
Nice build I want to add a second battery to mine as well
Are you able to take out the second battery for charging or do you have to keep on the bike while charging?
what kind of range do u get now nice conversion job
That cockpit is crazy! Haha in a good way
You just have teeths worn out on 11t sprocket, it's replaceble on most cassettes ...
Bolton controller. 203mm rotors and 4 piston brakes
Which tires are you using as replacements?
Good kind of bike be easy for homeless people to ride so that they can get around places not be in the streets
Hello fellow RW4 driver, I love your bike! Congrats. Our RW4 has mostly the accecories from Rad but I´m now considering to get hydraulic discbreaks. Are you alwo considering that? I would love to see a video on that. I would also love to see more shots from your middrive motor. How difficult was it to install? Cheers, Yannick from Germany
Yes, absolutely. It was no trouble at all to install. I'll see if I can get some more shots of it for you.
I love your whole bike! Really cool mods. That little basket in the front looks very handy and the horn is fun! If you have links for the second battery (assuming it's third party) and the connector to run both batteries in parallel, that would be cool. Also, the tech setup on the bars: 👌👌
I've added the parts list to the video description. Thanks for commenting! I never actually ran the batteries in parallel, which would be cool. The Rad battery powers the original drive train, and the second battery powers the bafang. It means that I've been putting a lot more stress on the after market battery, but at some point I'll switch the power wires so they can swap roles. I just need to buy some more XT60 connection splices.
Nice work! How did you attach the new DIY seat to the rack?
I’m guessing 2 hole pipe clamps
I actually used straps. I didn't want to mess anything up. So just 1'' web strapping wrapped around the whole thing. One in the front, and one in the back.
nice work re-using the packaging! I ended up using an old outdoor chair cushion and packing tape. no complaints after 3 years! but time to replace.
Hmmm, anything for the kid to hold onto? I just did this, I used vinyl plank flooring, u really want the seat to be as thin as possible to make the bike stable and so the kids can reach the side platforms with their feet. This seems like a temporary solution at best.
What PSI do you put in your tires? I read that anything above 45 PSI is asking for trouble for the inner tube.
55. I've never had an issue.
Now that was the best!
