Absolutely incredible views! I am definitely going to make it out there
Yeah, it should be in everyone's bucket list to go and see. Incredible experience!
I'm glad you enjoyed my city! And there is so much more. I hope you can return soon and spend more time.
Was probably my favorite city as a whole, of my trip so far! I want to come back to see Mt. Hood, try more donuts and explore the rest of the city! :)
Love the quiet "hiking through woods" parts! Very immersive.
Thanks! I try to balance my ugly mug on camera with some quieter moments without much talking. ✌️
Wow! That's definitely on the bucket list. So glad you got to go!
Video will never do it justice. It was so much better in person! ♥️
Omg that would be me, too! 😂 "Hey wow! Look at that view!" "Omg that valley is gorgeous!" "That mountain is so majestic!"
Yeah, that wasnt even all of them, just the ones I admit to. 🤣
I do love Santa Monica and Venice, my favourite places in LA. Haven't been to the Getty, it does look cool. Have been to the Hollywood Hills though so I know what you mean about the views. I remember inglewood used to be known as a bad area, most of those areas are much safer now. $99 p/n is really cheap for LA. Enjoy yosemite!
Inglewood seemed alright when I was there, I think it's grown up/gentrified a bit in the last decade or so. LA is so big and sprawling it's hard to take it all in, regardless of how much time you have, so I just picked a couple of spots that were high on my list. Santa Monica definitely had that vibe I was hoping for! Yosemite is amazing. Completely blown away.
@@wanderbeard Ca, is such a huge area. You could spend six months exploring its many climates and spectacular vistas. And never see them all! "If I had a million dollars" "L.A. is great big freeway put a hundred down and buy a car" (Dionne Warwick) B.
@@billdolan9965 Yeah, once I realized how far apart everything was, I was content to have seen what I did in a day :D
Well, thank you for the video I. Admired the view as well. It looks like an absolutely beautiful place to visit.
Lots more to come from Yosemite this week that will blow you away! Thanks for checking it out! ✌️
@wanderbeard awesome looking forward to it I will now subscribe to your UA-cam
Awesome, thank you very much! All the best!
תודה רבה על העצות, הטיפ עם האפליקציה של התחבורה והכרטיס היומי ממש נהדר!!!! נרשמתי לערוץ וגם עשיתי לייק. גם הטיול שלי יהיה פעם ראשונה!!!! ❤🎉😊
The transportation app was very helpful when there. 1 day or 3 day options are available (and additional options as well). When the bus arrives, you can get in the front or back door, and just show the pass from your phone, though most drivers seemed to not care.
So Alcatraz need only a little paint and is ready that the crime family of Trump and Republican and followers can move in !!!
Well no, the buildings are crumbling, and it's now a home for wildlife and amazing gardens. It's perfect now as part of the National Parks system. ✌️
Yep, that was a tornado. Pretty crazy.
Totally unexpected too. Just settling in on the train for the long journey to Portland and BAM. Thanks for checking out my video!
Windy enough to “blow da roof outta yer mout!”😂
If I'm lucky that's all the damage it would do. 😂
The entrance to the city by water is called The Narrows 🙃
I would have probably remembered that if my brain wasn't being blown out my ears by the wind! 😂
@@wanderbeard that’s why you’re only a newfie wanna be… until you toughen up! 😝
@@saltwatertaffy82 Next time there's a storm like that, I invite you to go up there and enjoy it a bit! 😂😂
@@wanderbeard us locals have better sense lol and I think you were properly cautioned!
@@saltwatertaffy82 Sounds like the locals aren't as tough as us mainlanders after all....
Food is so expensive...
Yeah, there's lots of affordable places too for sure, but that was a meal that was expensive because of the location, I think. I don't treat myself very often, so it's nice to do it once in a while. ✌️
Are you sure this isn’t NL!? 😅
Pretty sure! Maybe I should go back again to double check! ✌️
You had the entire experience! It is such a different vibe than Fenway! Great video #wrigleyfield #letsgosox
In my opinion, as a guest, it was the perfect location to watch the game from. I saw a game years ago from the bleachers at Fenway, but this was way better.
Well done! Enjoyed it!
Thank you very much for checking it out and I'm glad you enjoyed it! ✌️
I must have missed it the world famous fishermans wharf?
Unfortunately, I meant to go the next day, but burned my foot pretty badly in the beach and had to skip it this time. ✌️
I can't wait for you to go to what used to be Fisherman's Wharf. Don't for get Market Street and the Tenderloin.
Next time for sure! Thanks for checking ijt my video!
Send bos votsap you who r you iam farm india plz votsap you contakat send
As I remember it from 20 years ago. Bright sunny day but def wear a hoodie. Wood go back again given the opportunity..
Still hoodie weather all these years later!
Where is that!?! I need to play codm irl
This was at the actual Alcatraz prison in San Francisco :)
The bid system worked out well for you! Sounds like a good itinerary. I'm jealous about you going to Yosemite. San Francisco sure is a beautiful city well worth visiting. I was there two weeks and still didn't manage to do all I wanted (that was also due to budget restrictions 😅)
Just wait until you see the video from Yosemite! 😁
Portland and expensive city
I didn't find it too bad as a visitor, but the entire west coast was more then other place I've been in Canada/US.
Love it Wanderbeard! Thanks buddy!
Glad your enjoyed it! Was worried it was a little too long, but then the next one will be even longer then this. 😂
The cheese from the deep dish pizza made my mouth watering 😁😁
It was even better in person! ☺️
Was a wonderful ish place. you can't deny what it is now. Sorry for your loss. CA and NY having very similar issues. I love my state and fear it may one day look like yours.
Not sure what you mean about "my state"? I'm from Canada. 😊 Portland is still wonderful to me, and I spent a lot of time wandering around the streets. Great food, great people and really laid back. ✌️ This is why I wander, to go see places for myself, and not what you see on the news.
@wanderbeard your state meaning the state your so fond of. I suppose the state is decent but Portland??? Really??? Then so is LA Etc...
Yes, I spent time in San Francisco, Los Angeles and other places in California, and saw them all with my own eyes. Maybe you should visit, before placing judgements?
seems a bit like saying that America used to be a terrible place but now it's gone to hell... or that AMERICANS used to be nice people but they're all awful now... sure, SOME people in SOME places are awful but that's EVERYWHERE and if you've encountered them of course it will colour your outlook on people and the places you met them but it's never the case that ALL people in a place or ALL parts of a place are awful... there are ALWAYS great people around if you take the time to meet them on their terms
@@AndrewHorsford that's a good point!
It just hits. I loved our first run
I was seriously blown away. Did not expect that amount of jaw dropping beauty.
Looks like you had fun in my hometown! If you wanna peek at some of the weird, I gotcha covered. Especially the people. I do a people watching project called Sketchy People. You can go walk around Portland from where ever you're at via my sketches! Safe travels and hope to see ya return! If you return to Voodoo, I recommend the Ring of Fire doughnut.
Thanks, I had a great time and it was such a teaser for things to come. That Sketchy People project sounds neat! I'd love to try them all at Voodoo, if I'm being honest. Thanks for checking out my video! ✌️
Seems like a lovely spot! Decent infrastructure, good food and shopping, lots of history.
Yeah, it had all that and more. No doubt issues as well with homelessness and cost of living, but tli liked that other things like transit and bike lanes were seen as accomplishments, rather than annoyances.
The flats looked soooo cool. Part of me wanted to jump off them and go swimming. :O
Love the content and the journey, would be awesome to see more long form content!
Working up to it for sure :) Wanted to start with shorter ones for now. Thanks!
Cannot believe the number of buildings or that weather !!Great videos!
The buildings I'd expected, the weather however, not so much! :)
Chicago is my favourite American skyline.
@@brycemcneil4404 Sure is tough to beat!
Beautiful City!
Yeah, all the stories you read about Chicago aren't really accurate. Day to day, it's a big, beautiful and safe place to visit.
I hope Zach gets paid well. Lol
Ha! I hope so too, dude had to change clothes like three times
I've decided I'd have no problem with the SkyDeck... it's the elevator that would make me cringe! Looks like fun tho!
Elevator was so smooth you'd never even feel the climb up or back down.
Love it! Definitely absorbed as much as you could in the limited time. Can't wait to see your next one!
Thanks so much! Plenty more to come :)
Epic sites!
Yessir, and many more to come! ✌️😁
Great job. Really enjoying following your adventures.
Thanks! Lots more to come from Chicago and beyond! 😊
I'm from Montreal...born and. raised....this is an absolutely amazing city .....very thick and hard culture.....yes....I'm French....im very proud...
You should be proud, it's an awesome city!
22 hours, yikes! I used Samesun in San Francisco and LA (Hollywood), good hostels! Damn, you ate well there. Montreal looks cool. Will be following the rest of your trip!
Following from this account too (my main account)
Yeah, Samesun was a nice surprise. Wasn't sure what to expect, but worked out great. Lucked out with my eats in Montreal too, I still dream of those noodles. 22 hours was a lot, but wasn't the longest on my trip so far! ✌️
Hope that you enjoyed your day--be welcome to come back here anytime you want. I'll watch the rest of your trip--looks like you have an interesting plan. Have a nice day, beard-man.
Thanks so much! Excited about the rest of the trip as well! Hope you enjoy the rest of it as I venture off!
Montreal is awesome! Can't wait to see your upcoming adventures, and your experience on Amtrak! Going on that route of a dream of mine so I am definitely living a bit vicariously through your travels!
It's been wonderful! Just don't plan a connection too soon after your arrival in Portland or Seattle as there are often delays along the route. Usually not a tornado, like in my case, but nonetheless!
I loved it all! Except... the noodles ;)
No other way to properly eat them! *slurp* 😂
@@wanderbeard Slurping is a complement in some places :P
Always a compliment with noodles :)
God I am loving this. Live that beautiful life man!
Thank you! Been a great journey so far! ✌❤
It was used as a home in about 1910 my grandfather and his family lived in the house. I have visited the house twice. In 1985 I took my grandfather to see the house and there were pictures of his family on display. There person working at the house on that day was familiar with some of the family history when it was used as a house. I went back to visit in 1994 and could no longer find pictures of my grandfather's family and the person working at the house was much younger and had no idea about the school being previously used as a home in 1910.
What a cool piece of family history! I know that the museum has grown in terms of the content inside by quite a bit, and people are always donating more things. I am sure your family information is still there somewhere. The more attention we can bring to it, the more successful hey can be in the future as well. Thanks for checking out my video! ✌️
@@wanderbeard It may be awhile before I return. If you come across anything the family name was Johnston. My great grandfather I believe worked in the mine. My grandfather's name was William Johnston. I believe my grandfather had 7 brothers and sisters. When I was there in 1985 with my grandfather, we saw pictures of his family on display. Today you have a lot more stuff on display that looks like general Dominion history. It is great that you keep the museum operating. Thank you.
My family is still back in Dominion. Next time they drop by, I'll see if they can find anything for you. All the best!
My husband and I visited last summer. Thank you for this.
Thank you for checking out my video! I hope you had a wonderful experience as well when you visited. ✌️
So peaceful and quite, love the vibe ❤
It really was awesome! Felt like I had it all to myself. 😊
well at least they are not overrun with tourists. lol
As a solo traveler, I love the quiet and having it to myself. Rare to find pristine nature life that these days. 😊
we visited St. Pierre & Miquelon in 2015. We were quite excited to go there but were rather disappointed during our 3 day stay. The ONLY people who seemed enthusiastic about having visitors were the young people working at the Tourist Centre. They were great and really tried hard. Sadly we found that the attitude of the rest of the town was completely aloof. Anyone we encountered in shops and restaurants seemed to care less about us being there. There was one exception - a young man at the Museum was very helpful and informative. Also the appearance of the town was rather run-down - seemed like there was no pride, no attempt to keep the environment clean and the buildings repaired. We found that our 3 day stay was almost too long and we were glad to leave when it was time to depart. It's sad that the over-all attitude was one of complete indifference. I wonder if they have made an attempt to change that.
Aw that's too bad. I really enjoyed my time, and found the people really nice. A little bit of French did help break the ice and we would have some laughs as a result. It's a harsh place due to the environment, but I found that things were well kept. Being there in April, I really felt the cold of the weather, but not the people. I'm definitely returning again in the future for another visit. ✌️
@@wanderbeard well perhaps it has changed since we were there.
NF should have remained its own country.....
