No one knows if they’re reading the bible correctly because it’s been translated and re written multiple times. The original scrips do not exist anymore. Everyone has their own interpretation but that’s it

Define “reading correctly”. Jews, Christians and Muslims are all Bible-based religions. Which Who would you say reads the Bible correctly?Mormons, Jehovahs Witnesses, Catholics, Evangelicals, Baptists and Methodists, all Christian religions, disagree about many things in the Bible. Who is correct? Who determines who is correct? Why did those who are in disagreement, generally say that the others are wrong and bound for hell? Why do many Christians feel that those that do not believe in god are amoral? Why do many evangelical pastors believe atheists should be killed?

The lie is trying to convince people Christianity is true. That whole Bible was created using the ancient sumerian texts and that secrets out now. Also, how is it that in the Bible God the "good" one kills millions of people while Satan the " bad" one killed nobody? People are leaving religion because they know it's a man made fairy tale.

While I appreciate this. I am allergic to over 75% of foods and have been for decades and either brings my own food or fasts through during fellowship out of necessity. To flat out say that doing that is rude. I'd rather that and being functional enough to serve others. And I would rather eat only what my body can handle (with communion being my exception) and only be on one medication than make exceptions to avoid somebody else think I'm being rude and being on 20+ medications with horrible side effects and be in and out of the hospital. My mama died an excuciating death in part due to the latter. While I know that I will surely die unless the LORD Jesus comes first Maranatha! I have choices I can make to reduce the likelihood of dying the same way my mama did. I'd rather be strong enough to fellowship sometimes than be so sick that I cannot at all. This also made me feel very old.

Do you believe that temptation itself is sin? That it is morally culpable? At timestamp 54:30, I believe this is a bad reading of James 1. The only way you get to this understanding of temptation is by not reading the passage in context. James 1:2 also talks about temptation, and it adds a lot of clarity: "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials (temptations; greek peirasmos) of various kinds." James 1:12 says the man who remains steadfast under trial (peirasmos) is blessed. Here is James 1:14: "But each person is tempted (peirazo, verb form of peirasmos) when he is lured and enticed by his own desire." If going through and enduring the "peirasmos" is a sin, then how are we to rejoice in our "peirasmos"? Is James telling us to rejoice in our sin and guilt? Certainly not. We rejoice in grace, but we mourn our sin. So, the temptation itself cannot be sin.

Oh good grief. "Resembles Death"? For many it resembles being born again. For some people the process is hard. For others it is not. AFAICT most who deconstruct find a new, worthwhile life. Why not start looking at yourselves and the ideas you teach as being a part of the problem at least, as opposed to trying to scare people into staying? And how does trying to scare people allow any "room for nuance"? I think a problem comes when Christians tell themselves and each other, that they, and only they have the wonderful, joyous truth, and that no one else does. That idea makes them incapable of self examination and self reflection.

I just don’t understand how people can look at the Bible. That has so many contradictions and so many violent acts (most acted out by God or his orders) and think “yep. I’m worshipping this god and I believe this book is totally accurate. it shocks me even more that women accept it so easily. They view us as property in the Bible. Property. I’ve recently read the Bible (again) and I am just so confused. If this god is the true one then I can’t wait to ask him why he is so cruel to his creations. If I burn, let me burn I guess. Because I’d rather burn than worship a god that acts out such cruelties.

What a self-important, egotistical shrew. This woman is an expert in the humble (and not so humble) brag, cloaking her boastfulness in the guise of repentance. She constantly refers to herself as a professor, yet she was a professor for only 10 years, and ended that career over 20 years ago. She loves talking about how she teaches her university students, yet she hasn't had university students in over 20 years. Her assertions, many of them theologically erroneous, are filled with inner circle jargon and "I" statements, and she never misses an opportunity to drop exclusive lingo like "covenant marriage, creation mandate, teleological, ontological," etc. And the ultimate arrogance is her thinking that she can sit in judgement of John Piper. It's obvious that all she has done is transfer the loud stridency of her former gay activism onto her current Puritan activism. She has a lot of head knowledge (which she loves to show off), but that doesn't seem to have given her any true humility or grace or love. Jesus had a couple of things to say about people like that.

Is there any nuance in your view over marriage? Gender roles? Gender? Or are you a bit rigid about those things? I think what you mean to say is that you expect nuance from those deconstructing from your non nuanced, dogmatic, bigoted worldview. Quit insulting the intelligence of everyone that doesn’t believe your superstition.
