The process of critically examining and questioning the beliefs, practices, and traditions of Christianity is a 'natural' byproduct of freedom. Traditional Christianity can no longer cling to biblical inerrancy or impose a univocal message onto the Bible. This, of course, does not render a faith position unviable. In my estimation, one can still maintain a faith position while acknowledging that the Bible is not a literal description of history or people's.
Define "literal"
But you are harming the patient by pushing the belief that their faith is wrong. Its fine to question faith but not to the expense of losing it. Deconstruction is backsliding from where you once were in Christ and its the latest fad to pick and choose scripture to live the way you want to live
Does this also mean that deconstructing from racism is a fad? I think you may have the wrong idea of what deconstructing from religious indoctrination means.
@@taylorthetunafish5737 the discussion is not on racism
@@kathyc5831 Yes. And that's the only thing you're correct about.
Deconstructing from religion is not a fad. And it's not backsliding. I was making the point that you seem to not understand what deconstruction from religion actually is. Going by your response, you still don't know what it is.
@@taylorthetunafish5737 based on your response you must be one who's cherry picking scripture to fit what you wish it meant
@@kathyc5831 I never cited any scripture.
