your enthusiasm is contagious
GM?
The chess variant where the King can jump as a knight is found in India. It typically moves ahead one square and the when checked it makes the knight move to get to safety. The results is like castling.
I wonder if the game overall didnt suit her style, as it gave Black a straightforward winning strategy (dominate the 2nd rank) rather than the complexity Anna seems to flourish in?
it's fine. you just threw for content. good move for your brand. 😃
GGs
Opening history note: Bronstein's 5. Bb5, which he played in 1972 ("Instead of shooting at Goliath, David has shot at nothing," commented someone) was for a long time considered best.
Best of luck anna for the next tim❤❤e
Hi Anna. Thanks for the recap of the game. I think you were right to take into account what you said about your opponent misplaying endgames. When I was watching the game and he had the two rooks on the second rank and the bishop, I kept thinking, "Why isn't he going for checkmate?" It turns out it's not that easy (I certainly haven't found any of them over the board, lol), but there are forced mates there that he didn't spot, when I looked at my computer's analysis. It's a shame that his bishop was covering the queening square for your pawn on b5. If it wasn't you may have had the option of trying to queen it and I'm not convinced that he would have found anything better than drawing by repetition with the two rooks, based on what I saw earlier. Just noticed that you're competing in the European Women's Blitz, so the best of luck!
You're brilliant & good content
Even losing games are teaching games. It's expected to lose along the way. The GM title is still there within your reach. Keep grasping.
Don't be too hard on yourself Anna, you played a GM. You're improving a lot❤️
just wondering... is it normal to make so many pawn moves before developing your knights and bishops?
With the other bishop
First she has to eliminated the white knight
She got an excellent pin with the bishop
that horse tactic was crazy
that was insane- creating all those threats from a bad opening 😲
Nice sweatshirt
Te sigo no se inglés pero si un poco de ajedrez sigue adelante es genial muy bien enséñame mas
Happy Birthday Anna 🎉 The main thing is that you've learnt from this game and thanks for sharing that with us. I like the Slav Defences too. When I saw 5.g3, I started thinking Catalan, so I like your continuation. Although the evaluation was equal when you were a pawn up, do you think the real advantage comes when you get to an endgame? Perhaps you're being a bit too hard on yourself. He would have had to keep a constant eye on your queenside, so just look to implement the observations you mentioned?
Not that I would do any better, but it's hard to win a game when your pieces are still in the back rank and you're trying to open up the center.
Go Anna-Maja!
No matter the result, it always makes me happy to see your big beaming smile at the start of your videos! Keep up the smiles and also the great chess channel! :0) EDIT: Happy Birthday for today too!
Over the board piece sac in the opening, how fun. He really pressured you on the clock that game. GG Anna
Excellent!!
Glad to see that you are happy with your performance in this tournament Anna-Maja. Consider you were frequently playing players nearly 200 ELO above you, I think that you did really well! Good luck for the rest of the year! ps. Happy 25th birthday & don't feel old, lol! Start worrying when in another *36* years, you'll be the same age as I am now!!
Congratulations, Anna-Maja, great game!
Great win!
I am not even playing you and I am scared.

Great Skills has Kazarina
Congrats Anna! Awesome game ( :
A very exciting game to watch in real time. Finding d5 was brilliant
You've got a good disposition, even when you lose you're still upbeat. Great game, I always feel sorry for whoever loses. They're probably really nice people and put everything into it, for hours and then lose, but keep the vids coming, I learn a lot.
Happy New Year Anna!!! Glad to hear your optimistic voice again.. Hugs
I was always taught to not sacrifice a piece unless you are certain that you have an absolute advantage. You are really such a daredevil in how you play.
At the start of the match, your opponent seemed happy, gave a thumbs up to the camera. And at the end he looked so defeated. Made me sad. Congrats on the win!
Ur doing so well!! I’m so happy for you! Keep up the good work!
This opening went completely wrong and then it was very difficult to defend her position!
Nice comeback! I would love to see you and Anna Cramling do something together. Two attacking players who are always so positive! Must be a win-win situation.
I played similar lines often back in the 90s. With Be7 included. My favourite variant was if you had played 10.g4 Be7. But I don't rembember the theory, and no idea if it would work playing 10.g4 without the bishop being on e7. Lots of crazy lines in those openings, this was an amazing game!
The fact that you have to wear freaking heels and the chess world still wonders why there's a gender gap in elo is infuriating : start by giving everyone the same conditions instead of enforcing old conservative sexism
beautiful game!
I was wondering why Anna Cramling is having a much easier time than us then I realized we are in different sections! 😭😭
She is playing with 1700 12 year old kids
Yes, Anna-Maja is in the Open tournament while Anna Cramling is in the U2200 tournament! The 7th round Anna Cramling drew to the #1 player of her section!
Before this game you had a performance rating on 2400 and after the game on tuesday it wa 2349 so you have the potential of 2350 and 2400 rating!!
Should be no stress playing against a higher rating - only pleasant surprise if we draw or win. 💛😎
Anna was laying traps on traps on traps.
