I did a job just a couple of weeks ago. It was four hours total of driving and three hours worth of work and the guy only wanted to pay me $200 because of how welders charge in Oklahoma it has gotten to the point it’s ridiculous people make you work for little or nothing or you won’t work at all. I had companies tell me they won’t pay more than 60 an hour for a welder otherwise they won’t use you.
What a great video man thanks!! I’m $250 min. I have a shop rate & mobile welding rate. Shop rate is a $80hr and mobile $120 BUT like you I’d rather get every detail on paper then charge by the job.
Great video but What about the Generator to run the welder and charge batteries. you talked about the truck but you forgot about the big Generator sitting on it.
@tonystites2134 true. I thought it would be obvious but there is a minimum wattage to run these machines.
Awesome brother! Thank you for sharing your story. God bless!
I think it has the same motor as the miller big 50D. If it is, you can google continental tmd 27 manual and you can download the pdf, it’ll have all the into to play with that motor. They’re pretty simple engine to work on. I did a head gasket when I first got that welder
Damn dude, what happened to it ?
Perfect video to me….thank you for the information
That's what I tell you danny Charge for what you do. Don't back down I was out 5 hours today to fix someone else's cheap repair on a bucket. $$1200.00 and fixed right, guaranteed. 13 dogs and wedges on the bucket to straighten. J.g.
Can't tell you how many times I have dealt with people like this when they want something welded for a lower price and get screwed over after some will call you back to fix it and for some it's good enough and say even said that they rather spend more money buying a trailer then spending less for a repair maybe they don't know what they're getting into or don't know what they want and want the lowest price possible. best of luck brother
Cheap short cuts will get you screwed almost every time now you gotta pay for the same job twice 😂😂😂😂😂
Ive tried wlding once in my life and i did better then them 😂 they must have been on something while working
Pay peanuts get work done by monkeys.
Charge twice for fixing other's mistakes
Cheaper is way to go IMPO.. Now, he can justify buying a new (new) trailer 😂😂😂
I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me I'm down in SoCal so there's tons of competition but quality separates me from the rest. I'm not the best but I sure do try Cheap work ain't good and good work ain't cheap 👌🏽
You get it. There's plenty of welders out here I'm just not in competition with them I consider them colleagues. My work snd live for my craft speaks for itself
Is that strong enough or should some plates be welded to strengthen the frame more? Asking cuz I gotta do the same to mine
That repair is stronger than original. If customer wants to reinforce and you price the job for it I don't see why it would hurt.
Bw welder parts has all the parts that you may need they are located in phoenix az. My records is to: Replace engine thermostat an snap sleeve Replace radiator hoses Coolant 50/50 mix Check fan belt or replace Clean oil bath an refill with 30w oil Replace fuel filter an hoses I hope this may help you ,that’s a great machine.
Seems so funny to see a red machine on a blue truck. Nice set up though!
I like it The red accent makes it pop
The video isn’t bad at all it’s got good advice. I weld as hobby and do things around the farm but I’m seriously thinking of doing it as a side hustle
It's been a long time thought you had given us up
Never that. But I'm glad to hear from you and glad you didn't give up on me. What kind of content do you want to see?
Could we see some day in the life?
Thank you my brother,I’m start my business soon , a lot the thing to learned and get prepared
do you mix water with the coolant or is it just 2 gallons of coolant?
You cam do either or. Mixing with water is cheaper
Great content my brother. You've help me create a successful business with your insights. Wish you the best out there, thank you!
That's so awesome to hear bro. I need to start making videos. I fell off
@@DannyWeldz you should bro! You're helping alot of people become successful. Crazy i used to work up in Groton to. That's where my submarine training was also. I wish you all the best bro. In in Central Jersey if i was closer it would be awesome to work together. I'll tap in with you if i ever have a job up there, i appreciate all your knowledge and insights.
Man, I know it’s a hassle when you have a diesel truck and a gasoline welder or the other way around and you have to switch and repay again luckily, my rig and generator are both gasoline. I don’t have to worry about that yet.
What you running for a setup
I run a 2002 honda odyssey mini van as my welding rig just made some adjustments and it fits a inverter generator, my welder , my oxy acetylene kit and alot of miscellaneous tools that welders carry. I even made a video off it if you wanna check my channel and look for yourself. I eventually will be buying an actual truck powered by diesal and the welder as well.
Upgrade as soon as you can and use that as a backup. Our tools are heavy
@@DannyWeldz that’s the plan
Trying to switch halfway thats stupid
That comment is stupid🤣
And diesel is how much more expensive. I think ot worked out for the better.
You didn't post this expecting not to get roasted, did you?
Im surprised you still posted this 😅
Someone this stupid should not be allowed to handle combustible material of any kind.
Never mind....Did your mom teach you how gas pumps work 😂🤣😂😂🤣
No. Yours did🤣
Hes using girl math...
Your mom taught me what she could🤣🤷♂️
534 ci
You make zero sense.
Take your meds and open your ears
Sure do it's a gasoline engine
Restore it
Yeah that engine is a damn old one! It’s pushing 86 hp with 120 ft/lb torque
That’s American made but it is ford so I’m gonna have to say…………….? That’s a foundonranchdead engine. AKA Ford
I bet it would run
Slime ball pay up. Arent welders supposed to make bank ?
He wanted to use the left over $12 to fill his gas welder not steal gas.
Imake Hella bank. I own the company 🤌
@@DannyWeldz bro made it sound like you owed him money or something 😂😂😂 I didn't even realize he was trying to say you were stealing 😅😅 right after you said " I paid $40 cash"
@@woodystreeservicePNW you peeped that shit?🤣🤣🤣
I wanted to use the remainder to fill the welder instead of hanginging up the pump and going back inside to pay for unleaded. @@JTwelder.
Pls change the gear to 190-120 range cause 4th gear is to burn jet rod that wears and tears components in your machine and 15w40 or 15w20 I add a little diesel oil
That's what I typically run at. But that's good to know.👌
I’ve been welding since I was in high school (93). Most of my construction career I’ve been a certified fracture critical welder until I moved in to management about 10 years ago. I do have a welding side hustle just to support my bow hunting habits. I have a portable welder and I just bought the Vulcan 220 and it is a very good welder no regrets. I also have a 2001 f350 with the 7.3 I bought new. It is my go to truck. I prefer driving it over my good truck. I would definitely say you have good equipment and are headed in the right direction. Keep your head up and you will do fine 👍
Whats your thoughts on sleeving the feet
I do it if and when necessary
Nice negotiating
I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks for commenting and watching my videos 🙏
💪
I’d like to see the cord you made to run the Vulcan I have the same welder and would like to get the Vulcan eventually
Did they clean everything first ? And the real question did you clean your tools after ?
That's how I know you didn't watch the full video😂 . Yes I sure did. And greased em up too
@@DannyWeldz ya did that comment half way through i did watch the whole thing tho
Did you keep the old sign or trash it? My local Burger King started remodeling today it was already modern but the exterior is getting remodeled.
The business that contra Ted me called dibs.🤣 I wanted that bitch so bad😭
do you still have the ranger. does it still run
Bro it runs like a dream. Never had an issue. Got questions? Got some specific content you'd like to see
I like the new logo but I will really miss the 1999 one. I hope the location near me keeps the old one as long as possible. Also what do you do with the old sign after replacing it?
I have the 330mpx as well. How did you mount yours? The holes were not in an ideal place so I mounted mine on a skid then tacked the skid to my rig
Great video
