Unlucky John, wasn't really a move on from the other guy but he was clearly in a hurry and didn't understand how he'd compromised you on exit. I thought for a moment you were going to be wiped out for a second time on the last lap there. Looked like the guy was going to reverse straight into you for a moment.

Good racing John, we finally had that race long battle that we've been trying to have for months. I spent a bit too much time sliding the car round the corners here, struggling with teh turn-in. I just couldn't get a good exit to close those final few tenths down to you. Next time 👍🏻

On the face of it, it could have been a whole lot worse John, but for the most part, it was a very closely matched contest between all in the top 6. Interesting last lap there, and although I don't think what the orange was right at all, most of it stemmed from the initial move the white car made, as they bounced on the curb, and went into orange it seems. But that just sent Orange into 100% salt mode and the rest played out as it did 🤣

Got nauseous like 30 seconds in. No VR for me, confirmed.

You're actually not meant to block like that like he did at the start of the race, it's actually against iracing's rules. Orange cars behaviour at the end there, was definitely not on. I hope you protest that!

Shame about being spun around, but get that throttle pinned to help avoid the spin rather than hitting the brakes!! It sounds counter intuitive but for front wheel drive it will pull the front end back around 😁 Easier said than done in the moment though

I'm new to IR and new to VR, so I've probably been in the same graphics setting rabbit holes as you for the last month. Though my system is 4080s on 14700k. so pretty similar to yours (when you're running streamlabs). I've managed to get it so trackside shimmering is now beyond 200yards away and pretty minimal. That track is a hard one to learn. I've given up trying to distinguish the hairpins from each other (though they're all different), and taken to just grinding the track at 8/10ths.

Personally, I found i was slower in vr, where i needed a meter marker for braking and couldn't read the numbers. 😂 lebenon is a great technical track. Once you get it, you will speed up.

I won't lie, this was tough for me to watch for more than a few minutes. Perhaps because I'm particularly sensitive to unnatural motion? But it was a little shaky in general too. I think TrackIR might a good solution for something more immersive? If that's a bit steep I know there's some free solutions that utilize your webcam. Not sure how well either works with iracing though.

The graphics were much better this time John although a bit stuttery at times. I have never had a good race at this track and avoid it at all costs because I don't enjoy it. I don't think I will ever be trying VR as there seems to be an awful lot of people who have graphics and performance problems for my liking. I'm done with buying new sim gear and will make do with what I have.

Not sure if you have done this but biggest tips for me are, use virtual desktop then get open composite and open xr if you have NVIDIA card turn on foveated rendering

Sold my VR last week. Had it a year and only used it twice. Just couldnt get on with it.

Technology has come a long way, even in my lifetime... I remember playing 'Lotus Esprit' on the spectrum ffs, look at what we have now... brilliant.

Slow in VR or just slow at this track? I raced here once when I first joined IR and I said never again. Just didn't gel with the track at all and couldn't get on the pace. Not to worry mate, you'll get em next time!

Which shift assist are you using? I love my VR, but am thinking about going triples for the comfort, lol

I love open wheel racing in VR, there is nothing like it other than real life.

The most boring race series with the worse drivers.

Your pc is slightly better than mine I race vr (I can't get immersed with a screen any more) but I can run iracing at near max settings tho I set my quest 3 to 72fps and 1.3x resolution when you get it dialed in you won't want to race with a screen anymore

Nice win! The outside line in the 2nd last turn is more dangerous but gives more speed out the corner so he helped you out by taking the inside line. How did you find VR? Make you any quicker?

Vr is so good I’ve got a quest 2 I struggle to get Racelabs and the iracing black box in a good place for me to see it 😂

Boy, this video doesn't do VR any justice... If anyone out there is thinking about VR, go for it, try it, you will not regret it. iRacing is fantastic in VR.

Nice racing John. Not sure you have the VR dialed in 100% yet but it was still a reasonable image to watch even though lacking in clarity a bit. Not sure I want to try VR myself but I know a few people who won't race without it.

The 45 FPS is ASW kicking in. You can use oculus debug tool to turn this off, but you probably need to lower settings depending on your hardware. VR is amazing, but can involve a lot of tinkering to get it how you want it Oh, and I presume the poor recorded quality is because of the resolution of the screen mirror. There's a separate resolution for that and the image in the headset

Good clean race. Not changing down to 2nd in the final turn cost you the win. Nice to see the telemetry up. Really solid driving style in that telemetry.

That moment on lap 2 when it looked like every other car on the grid was involved in a pile up 💥 I thought you had it for a moment there John. Really unlucky mate, but there's certainly worse ways to lose a race 👍🏻

Very nice irating change xD good race though mate, super close finish. Personally I prefer the F1600's the Vee's handle too much like wonky trolley's for my taste.
