    Try adding more sand. For a 3 gallon bucket, take out 1 gallon of soil, replace it with sand. You can go to the hardware store and get a bag of playground sand. I've seemed to get bigger onions in a sandy soil than using straight compost or potting soil

    Good video. Wondering how this would do on red and white oak trees which are numerous in Minnesota. How do you think this compares to your gas chainsaw on this similar tree you cut down?

    • @theidahopanhandlers
      @theidahopanhandlers 3 дні тому

      Thanks for watching! To be honest I haven't cut on hard wood trees like that with this saw. We primarily have soft woods here, and does okay... For consistent cutting, my gas saw is superior but I still find myself using this all the time. I'm a little more careless with it as far as upkeep, and its help up well.

    I did fiberglass on our retro burro. I learned a lot. Our floor had disconnected to the back. So had to figure out a way to fill it in and be sturdy. We could not get it to strap pressure back in place. Had a 1/4 inch to 1/2 space open to the ground. Well, we made a wood beam across and supported it, then laid play wood cut to inside area. I then fiberglass it to the front. Had tons of fiberglass in the body, did the inside first. I found a paint brush, paint surface, let sit a few minutes, then add fiberglass again and paint it over until really wet, then brought air bubbles out with pressure from center of on out with a wet paint brush with resin. Like wallpaper. I also used a roller thing I brought off Amazon to help remove air bubbles, on the edges of wood used a plastic small puddy knife and risen to get it flush. Worked. Well, fiberglass the bottom outside next where we did the repair. We had it about 1 yr. It is al we got done on it. We had surgery, my first then husband. Then catch up with what was behind, so now are getting ready to finish her. Looks good what you are doing. Makes me want to get to work on mine. Husband just retired so should have time. Peace!

    Did you make a video showing what you did with the half you prepared to use as seed potatoes in 2024? What you did, how you stored them until it was time to use them.

    • @theidahopanhandlers
      @theidahopanhandlers 19 днів тому

      Hey there sorry for taking a couple of days to get to this. I did not make a video of how I stored my potatoes. It was my first year growing them and we had an awesome turnout, but I didn't feel confident in advising people how to store them when I hadn't done it myself yet. For seed potatoes and once cured I took all of the smaller (egg sized) ones, wrapped them in newspaper, labeled them, and actually put them in the refrigerator in one of our drawers. You don't want your refrigerator too cold, and I believe I had ours turned up to 37 degrees. Just make sure they don't freeze! I would check out some other UA-cam videos on potato curing after harvest. Ours turned out great and lasted a long time, but I'm sure there's a good video out there to explain it.

    Whoa!!!!!! Now that is one HUMUNGOUS pile of firewood!!! Someone hit the firewood jackpot!!!! Damn!!! The Mighty Husqvarna chainsaw will definitely be getting a workout and so will you!!! Love the drone shot of the unloading. SUPER cool!!! I have to admit, we will miss your firewood gathering videos. We LOVED those!!! That one with the snow and fog in September is one of my favorites!!! Hopefully, trips to the mountains will be part of your supplementation process!!! Wow, you made 10 trips last year! I had no idea it took that many trips to get one season of firewood. As much as we will miss your firewood gathering videos, this is a brilliant move. We will absolutely follow your battle plan. We will make sure we purchase enough firewood for 2 seasons, then supplement throughout the year to hopefully get to the point where we have a 5-year supply. That might be a bit aggressive, but we will reevaluate as we increase our inventory. We are totally stealing your idea. 😊 Thank you for sharing it and sharing the costs. Now I can budget. Hey, maybe one day you can do a review of your Husqvarna. I have been in the Stihl camp for a while. I would love to know why you picked the Husqvarna. That is a substantial cost savings. Almost half. In my opinion, that is a no brainer. You can always take a trip to get some firewood when you want to spend time outdoors, BUT the beauty is you do not NEED to go. Not to mention, with the price of trucks now a days, you probably added 5 years to your vehicle’s life span!!! How long do you think it would take to process that much timber. Yikes!!! I am taking a wild guess, but I will say 150 hours. Am I even close or did I miss that by a country mile? 😊 Wow, what a great perspective shot of you next to the timber pile when you are marking the chopping lengths. Damn, that is a big pile of wood. My friend, you should be set for a zombie apocalypse. Hehehehe, love the shot when you are marking the lengths on the logs and Lolly is SNOOZING peacefully in the background. All that commotion and she does not even blink!!! Oh, good Lord, how is your one spine doing??? Man, you cut and stacked a LOT of wood. Hehehehehehe, 6' 8", brother, you are 10' 8" in heart alone!!!! Did you mention you had a wood splitter? Is this something new? We would LOVE to see a video on how you process firewood. Oh man, you have no idea how much we loved this video!!! We are definitely going to follow in your footsteps and get a truckload of logs!!! Great way to spend a Sunday evening!!! Can’t wait to see the next video!!! Be well and stay safe my friend!!!
