Results of forced bloom 2025 Nam Doc Mai
The weather did not cooperate this year and I lost almost all of my crop. This is the remaining few that survived. I guess two dozen is better than zero. I'm happy to get those.

    How do you know that it was your spray that caused the bloom? Your tree is healthy enough and doesn't look like it would need any incentives to bloom on its own.

      @punasurf4697 3 місяці тому

      Both of these trees had some of panicles earlier this year but stopped. I waited several months to see if they would continue. Nothing. Now time is running out so I started the treatment. Like clockwork, within 28 days the blooms started. My second tree is now also blooming even though a lot of vegetative growth had already started before I sprayed it. Three years ago my trees never bloomed. That's what got me started on this process. The nursery told me these trees normally bloom every other year here. This is my third straight year. It is kind of a hassle to spray them, but the reward is a hundred fold. If you have a tree that isn't blooming, you have to try it. It doesn't cost much. Thanks for watching!

      @@punasurf4697 I don't really have problems with things not blooming. I just let nature take its course. I'm still incredulous that you caused that. Fruit trees will bloom if they have a certain amount of units of energy stored for that purpose. You can't just "trigger" blooms if the tree isn't ready to do it on its own. I think that's more of an old wive's tale. 28 days might have been a coincidence. Do it again 3 times in a row and in different months of each year and I'll believe it, but you have one instance only and that's not enough of a sample size to make a determination. Keep us posted though as I am curious.

Mangoes hate heavy rain when blooming. What can you do? Aloha

      I believe that you can do this any time, but it probably helps if it's summertime when plants are growing strong. I had to take these now because I believe that you do not want your tree to be in full bloom when you take the cuttings. I do not know that for a fact though. The weather here just took a turn for the worst and it got very cold and rainy. I am hoping that this doesn't affect my grafts too negatively, but I am sure it will slow things down. One thing I know for sure is that I have a better success rate putting grafts onto trees that are in the ground as opposed to potted trees. It would help too if these were in bigger pots but I plan on giving these away asap and I didn't want to go buy more pots, soil, cinder, etc..

I need at least 4 of them to take and that shouldn't be a problem. Just have to be careful when splitting the seedling with the razor blade. I have cut myself more than once, usually after the blade gets sticky. Just make sure it is a new blade and it will cut easily.

    You can’t buy a gift card with a gift card. That’s every store’s policy! Period! Plus why is he filming her? He needs to go back to school.

    So you dont have to graft them?

    • @punasurf4697
      @punasurf4697 7 місяців тому

      You don't have to graft them, but it will take years longer to produce fruit. In a week or two I am going to graft these potted Nam Doc Mai. They will be producing fruit in 3-4 years instead of 8-10 years. I'll make a video of the process.

    How many harvests per year?,yield per tree?

    • @punasurf4697
      @punasurf4697 7 місяців тому

      For the most part I just have one harvest per year. This tree started to bloom on it's own but then stopped, so I treated with potassium nitrate. So it kind of had 2 blooms but my goal is one good crop per year. If I have to force both trees to bloom I try to time it about one month apart to stretch the harvest. As far as yield, I fed this tree w K-mag too late in the season last year and it immediately split hundreds of mangoes. This season I already fed the K-mag before blooming started. I expect to get several hundred per tree if all goes right. I'm still learning. I do expect a great year this year. Weather predicted to be dry which is good. My trees should start blooming any day now. I'll do a video later this year to show progress.

    Literally no company will allow you to buy gift cards with a gift card. This has been a thing for nearly a decade basically everywhere... You really need to do some basic research, considering this is far from a new issue.

      All I knew was my wife bought gift cards that fell apart and we wanted to replace them. Didn't think it would be so difficult.

      I actually felt bad for her but I just wanted proof to send to Starbucks to show that I was denied a replacement. Don't think she was cracked out. Thanks for the comment.

      @@gracehall9199 I work at restaurant and that has happened to me but I handled it a little better I guess. I still bad for her she seemed so nervous, maybe next time put phone down and only film her voice. The person who made the video was only trying to help shoppers & its not his fault. Or maybe just maybe drugs were involved. Anyway I'm in South Texas laying in bed with my cat 🙀 have a great day

    Gift cards are like money. If you tear a bill, would you be able to go back to the store and ask for a different bill if you tore it?

    • @ihsuFM89

      Being polite would not be sticking a camera in a worker’s face and then posting it on UA-cam for all to see. You thought you were going to get more people to side with you, but you are getting the opposite reaction. This is giving me similar vibes from the guy that tried to do the same thing with a Chick-fil-A worker years ago.
