I would be interested in a parts list if you got it… I saw a similar one like yours but it was very high. Yours seems much lower for gravity and stability and easy to build… thanks. Me like
Just took some quick measurements: One 8 foot 2x4-----cut two pieces 18" for top to be covered with pool noodle, two pieces 7" for wheels, one 36" for width. 1 thick pool noodle---Walmart 2 pack of heavy duty inner tubes for bikes---walmart 2---6 inch 3/4" bolts 8--- 3/4" washers 4 ---3/4" nuts One 2 pack of 20" marathon 92010 replacement wheels flat free--Amazon 1---47" piece of 3/4" pvc pipe couple of pieces of strapping some 2 1/2" deck screws (2.5") Small wood screws to hold the inner tube in place gorilla tape 4 7"x7" right angle triangles for bracing. I had 3/8" plywood laying around. I've been very happy with it, especially after the modifications. No more slipping around. Lower is better. If I didn't have the pvc already, I think a 2x2 would make a good handle if you rounded the end you carry. Or a good rake handle, etc. Good luck. Let me know if you make one.
@@punasurf4697thanks for the quick reply. It’s just the tires that are pricey. I might use old bicycle wheels.. I’ll keep you posted… you’ve earned a subscriber
@@canam2436 Put the wheels on your watchlist. I got them on sale for about $53.00 or so. I was going to do bike tires too but these things have poly spokes and are solid tires. No flat tires. They also come with 2 sets of bearings. For the price, they make construction easy.
@@punasurf4697thanks, did what you suggested and I purchased the wheels and made my cart. It works great but I have a problem. The tire on the same side keeps locking up or loosening …has that happened to you?
@@canam2436 I have not had that issue. I wrapped plumbers tape on the bolt head to keep it from coming loose. A better choice would be using thread locker (blue should be fine) to keep the nut from tightening or getting loose. Are you using the fender washers? As long as you don't have to remove the wheels to transport the thread locker will solve your problem. Let me know how it works.
Thanks for sharing. I have an ocean kayak, so this should work👍
I really do love it. Works great.
Nice
Thank you.
