Hi!
I'm Tokyo-based and enjoy modular synths, glitch, dub, ambient and electronica music.
Microhouse / Microgarage / Glitchy dub. Live Eurorack jam with CIZZLE and Squid Salmple (13/12/24)
In this jam, I first made some beats with UKG samples from the UTTU USB drive for Squid Salmple and recorded and edited them in Ableton. I then recorded these beats back into different channels on Squid and used them in this patch by triggering them with Pam's Pro.
The chords are from Cizzle and are filtered by Three Sisters filter, with envelopes coming from Delta V.
The bass is the TZ-VCO from Klangbau Koln going through the Twin Peak Resonator (also from Klangbau Koln).
FX are from Clouds, MFX, and Erbe Verb.
As always, there's plenty of mistakes in there, but hope you like it nonetheless!

Electronica eurorack live jam / Live-sampling ALM CIZZLE with Squid Salmple (2/12/24)
Переглядів 15828 днів тому
A little electronica. Every now and then I base a jam around the live-sampling polyphonic patch that ALM Busy Circuits@busycircuits explain in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ZSUvQq9qs64/v-deo.htmlsi=cLvU07-KAkqwla9j In this patch, I'm recording a single note from Cizzle and then using three channels of Squid Salmple to play it back at different quantized pitches. The three channels receive trigge...
Clouds Resonator ambient dub / Live Eurorack jam (25/11/2024)
Переглядів 144Місяць тому
This jam wasn't supposed to sound like this. I started by feeding the Twin Peak Resonator into Three Sisters and then creating feedback loops by patching Three Sisters outputs back into both itself and TPR. I also sent a looping envelope from Pip Slope to ping TPR. Pip Slope was triggered by one of the outputs on Particles. My aim was to build up kind of random glitchy beats by using the other ...
Soft glitchy chords and beats (Clicks and Cuts style)) / Live Eurorack jams (12/11/24)

The idea here is similar to a video I uploaded a couple of weeks ago. Basically, basing the jam around a repeated filtered chord from @busycircuits Cizzle through Mannequin's Three Sisters (tweaking the oscillator and filter to add some variance over time). I'm hoping the chord offers a hook, and then the beats can be a little more random. This video is two takes on the same patch. In each I'm ...

Except for the kick, which is an 808 sample, all of the beat sounds come from Twin Peak Resonator. I had a play with the resonator and recorded what I did, then chopped it up and sampled it in Squid. The sequencing is done by Pam's and Particles. The bass comes from another Klangbau Koln module - the TZ-VCO - which goes through Variable Q filter and Dannysound Dynamics (for sidechaining against...
(Nov 1) Two glitchy jams // Live Eurorack performances sequenced by Compare 2
Переглядів 90Місяць тому
Two jams using basically the same patch here. They both revolve around using Compare 2 to sequence some glitchy beats (using the logic outputs to send triggers). Some of the beat sounds are filter pings (Three Sisters), while others are samples (on Squid) and from Akemie's Taiko. Chords from Cizzle go through Variable Q filter, Non-Linear Memory Machines and Data Bender. I'm also sending envelo...
(Oct 23) Subdued Dub // Live Eurorack
Переглядів 1092 місяці тому
Hello. I tried to make something a little subdued with heavily filtered chords (although I do open the filter up after a minute or so!). And I think the second half of the jam works better than the first. The jam started life by sending random looping LFOs to Muxlicer and then sending the Muxlicer trigger outs to Squid to trigger samples from the UTTU USB drive for Squid Salmple. I then used Pa...
(Oct 17) Soft, looping two-chord glitch
Переглядів 2322 місяці тому
I've doubled the amount of chords I usually use in this sort of jam. I'm putting the chords from Cizzle through Three Sisters and modulating various parameters with two different envelopes to create the kind of stuttering sound. After Three Sisters, the chords go through Non-Linear Memory Machine and Data Bender. The drum sounds are sequenced by Particles and Pam's.
Eurorack Dub live jam with CIZZLE and THREE SISTERS (11/10/24)

I noticed quite a few mistakes when playing this back, but this was perhaps my most enjoyable jam to date! There is white noise on the track, which is going through @cosmotronicsound5024@cosmotronic6436 Messor compressor and is sidechained to the kick, which creates envelopes on the noise - giving it a bit of motion in response to the rhythm of the track. The chords are from @busycircuits Cizzl...
(Oct 7) Microhouse // Live Eurorack jam

I was recently reminded how much I enjoy trying to jam out a 4/4 beat on the eurorack, so I wanted to have a go at that again. I sequenced the beats entirely with Pam's (Pro and New), making use of the logic and phase functions to combine channels and create grooves. The drum sounds themselves are mostly samples. The kick is two 606 kick samples from the Squid Salmple stock USB, which I filtere...

I haven't done this kind of jam since before the summer, so felt like trying something a bit more melodic. The melody is sequenced with Meta-Q in Ornament & Crime. I'm feeding Meta-Q (using the Phyrygian mode) with 3 lfos from Vector Space, which are selected in turn using Muxlicer as a kind of sequential switch (I also played with the sliders on Muxlicer to help set the melody). Vector Space i...
(Sep 26) Repetitive glitch + chord // Live Eurorack jam
Переглядів 1373 місяці тому
I was playing around with Compare 2 and Pam's Pro Workout today, trying to sequence some glitchy, repetitive beats alongside a chord from CIZZLE. I feel like the chord could have been more interesting - might have been better to filter it more, but it sounded a little 'boomy' when I did that in Three Sisters. I probably should have patched another filter after Three Sisters, but it was getting ...
(Soft glitch jam) "Autum(n)aton"
Переглядів 1073 місяці тому
Tried making something a bit more sparse and ambient, while keeping some slightly hectic glitchy beats in there. The beats are sequenced by Pam's and Particles (from Patching Panda). Particles also sends gates to trigger envelopes that I sent to CIZZLE and a couple of filters (Variable Q and Three Sisters) to create the melody/chords. A copy of the chords is recorded into Morphagene and slowed ...
Tokyo dub // Live Eurorack jam

Here are a few more shots that I took on my phone on my recent walks around Tokyo to accompany my latest jam. The beats here are sequenced by Patching Panda's Particles module and come from BIA, Akemie's Taiko and the UTTU USB for Squid Salmple. The chords are Akemie's Castle going through Variable Q filter, PE-1 eq module from ALM, the Non-linear Memory Machine and Mimeophon. The whole mix is ...

You're so very good at minimalist dub (is that a thing? Looks like it is! 😄). Inspiring and not as easy as it sounds! I love the little chord stabs coming in periodically.
Thanks so much, Jugs!!! I really appreciate that so much! :) Hope you're having a wonderful holiday :)
Awesome
Thank you so much!!!! :)
Amazing piece of atmospheric Dub Music. So many unique sounds sprinkled throughout your lush elegantly patched Dubscape. Wonderful to relax and just listen to this 😅. What are you using to get that beautiful "dub" sounding echo-delay? Is it several different Modules? The Echo Cinematic by Knobula?💡🎵🎛🥁🔥🎙👏🏽🎹💥🌠♥️🐈⬛🪴❗️
Thank you so much for the lovely comment. So so happy to hear you like it. ☺🙏 For reverb/delay I mist often use Mimeophon, and sometimes the delay app that comes with Clouds (which has a pitch shifter built in).
It reminds me the good old "Click and Cut" serie from Mille Plateaux. Good job !
Ah, thanks so much! That's made me happy - those Clicks and Cuts records were the sound of my youth 😊
Hypnotic 🙏
Very danceable 🔥 ✨️ ❇️
The warm lullaby vibe with the cool bright glitch is that beauty😊
Stunning constellation construction today ✨️ the planets floating and the motion of the ocean in one sound 🙏 ❤❤❤
Really appreciating you listening to all these old videos!!! And sorry for being slow to reply... I'm currently sick in bed with a fever. Hoping to be back at it soon!
@yassokiiba no need to be sorry my friend. 🙏 Get rest. Heal up ✌️ ☮️
You can really feel the differences of micro vs. macro cosms with all of the textures mixing in and out.
The snare placement is making the groove so perfect❤
Feels like Morpheus whispering secrets about the matrix and the nature of reality. ✌️ ☮️
Stomping funk😊 0:52 then reggae 🔥 fantastic range 1:14 hihats riding along swiftly
Its quite a festival of sounds 😮
Starting up another wonderful morning 🙏 ❤ 🔥
That muted bass and bass kick do it for me. Tough, but in a chill way.
Thanks so much, Karl... yeah, as you probably noticed I like chilled jams, but with either some glitchy edge or a solid kick.
Love it 👏👍
Thank you so much!!! :)
Loving this stripped back approach to the rhythm. Brain trying to fill in all the missing drum hits.
Thank you so much for this comment. This is exactly what I was trying to do, so I'm so happy you felt it.
Yeah this is dope, as usual !! Fantastic sound and great dub arrangement where every sound has its space to fully exist ! You’re so good at this man ! 🔥
That's so kind, Bertrand! :)
Very very cool, so many sounds to discover ❤
Thank you so much, Milan!!! :)
Nice! Scratches the Farben itch.
Ah thanks so much! 😊🙏 I love those Farben records!
placing the inevitable inside passion!
Thanks so much for the comment, Robert! :)
Yassoooooooo! 🖤🖤🖤
Haha!!!! 🙌
I really like your "view" on music !!! I really like your "drum modules" too .... 😁 The melodic sound is awesome.
Thank you so much! I'm really enjoying going through your videos when I get the chance 🙂
Amazing composition💥💫🌛🔥🌜💨💨💥
That's so kind 🙏
magical stuff as always
Thank you so much!!!! 🙏🙂
Very much enjoyed this matey
Thanks so much!!!
i agree, the use of space is entirely unique.
Thank you so much!! 🙂🙏
My favorite switchboard operator😂 🙏 I love your use of space 🔥 the chords are lovely here❤
Haha! I did feel like I was operating a switchboard in this one! Thanks so much 🙂 I do like to leave space in the mix
@@yassokiiba the diversity of your works is great.
yours too!!! 😊
Very original and unique work! Thank you for sharing 🤩
Thanks so much for listening and commenting! 🙂
how are you liking the Messor compared to the Dannysound Dynamics? i'm in the market for a compressor
I love them both. Although they are both compressors and have a lot of overlap, I find them to be quite different. I probably don't use Dannysound as creatively as I could, but it is an important part of every patch I do. It's got a great sound and gives kicks and so on lots of oomph and colour. The eq is a great touch, too. I tend to use Messor more for sidechaining - especially as the compressor has a filter built in so you can sidechain only some of the frequencies. Very handy for isolating the frequencies you wany to get rid of - especially with the really nice attack and release settings, which can go very long and be CV'd. Oh, and Messor is stereo (or dual mono). I guess, overall, I see the Dannysound more as nice and analogue sounding and Messor as a little more feature-packed. But I think they are both amazing.
@yassokiiba thanks so much for the detailed response! really helpful
@@solongyouth No problem!
It's raining static ❤ 😂
Dreamy❤ do androids dream of electric sheep 🙏 ✨️
Thank you for listening!!!!
Yes yes. ❤ Deep house groove. 🔥 and the glitchy zoinks 🫠
Glad you like the glitches!!! :)
Nice work! Unique sounds! You put a lot of effort into this piece!
Thanks so much for listening - and for noticing the effort to. That means a lot :)
Real nice chill vibe. A welcome at the end of a stressful day. 💛💛
Hi Jugs!!! Thank you so much for listening. Hope that day wasn't too stressful :)
I really enjoyed listening to this! The music is very "kind," for lack of a better word; more than chill or gentle. It handles the listener in a very caring way,. so it seems.
Hi Karl! Thank you so much for this - I always enjoy your comments. You have such an amazing way of listening and thinking about music. I like the idea of "kind" music!
cycling in bits and bytes carousel!
there's a lot of downsampling!!!
Everything YOU make sounds like YOU. ❤ 🔥 i enjoy hearing the growth
Funky funky jam ❤ 🔥 love the melody &start stop drums
Thanks so much!!!!!
Reminds me of megaman mining /earth levels ❤❤
haha!!! I hadn't thought of that, but now you mention it...
Starting here today working backwards. ❤😊 just discovered your free jazz collaboration ✨️ it is truly wonderful work!
It's so lovely that you're going through all these old videos... that collaboration with @urbulibaba was a lot of fun and a real highlight for me
@yassokiiba combining forces always pushes us to new boundaries. Your efforts bring joy
Yassoooo! WEll done, I love your textures!
Thank you so much, Maurizio! Well, I can't play or write music properly, so I guess textures are all I have 😂
Very nice and dreamy👍 as another comment mentioned this has great carefree vibes , 5:30 that tone is great....so bright and sharp and the drums really add a hypnotic element to everything. Very well done, I'll be replaying this whenever I can celebrate small moments of "carefree" 🙂
Thank you so much! :) Need those carefree moments sometimes
Early tribalism. Gives a nod to humanity's archaic beginning ✨️ 🙏
Love this description! There can be something very earthy about modular synthesis... the passing of electricity
@yassokiiba yes. It comes from the earth itself. 🌎
Contemplative 🔥 starting my day right ✅️
Thanks for listening!!! Forgot all about this jam - it's like looking in an old diary :)
@yassokiiba reflection helps us see where we have been and how we have grown. I'm trying to get through all of your videos, I watch a few each morning 🙃😍
@@justinhuffman2430 That's so true! And thank you so much for listening to everything - that's amazing and makes me so happy to hear! (I hope there aren't too many terrible ones)
@yassokiiba none are bad at all. I cherish their individual exostences. Knowing a kind soul made them all makes them even better. Someone expressing themselves through a nonharmful medium is always positive
synth work must be infinitely rewarding with all of the available combinations.
The possibilities are endless - and although sometimes having too many options can be overwhelming and ironically stifle creative feelings, yes it can be amazingly rewarding. There's something to be said for a compact, minimalist set-up, though!
Nice g
Thank you!!!! 😊
Peaceful ambience. Nice work!
Thank you so much :)
