Just your average guy who likes to port chainsaws. Mostly work saws stihl & echo brands or anything with a two stroke! Contact info buckyasaws@outlook.com , heads up I don’t really take orders for port work. I mostly port my own stuff so no hard feeling. It’s a fun past time or hobby for me.

Just a cool project I started a while back & getting around to changing some things up. Need to build an intake manifold with some volume. It would read 1 or 2 psi for a sec with current setup, but was far from ideal bolting it right to the cylinder head. It just conveniently bolt right up to the intake port. I have it apart now & will share another video. I know the 50cc is also not ideal fo...

Cool, which brand? Those are key things you mentioned. If plating handles port work, the timing numbers are very decent, not excessive casting flash, then it’s a good buy. I like that the cooling fins are very similar to OEM…some are so think they have a very heavy look and feel bs OEM.
@@jimssawsnstuff8903 thanks Jim! It’s Mtanlo brand. The plating held up fine to the porting, I’ll post the video tomorrow of the port work. The flash wasent to bad, just a little more then the oem 461 cylinder. I plan to do a long term review on it to see how it holds up.
@ sounds good! I’ve used that brand too, just not for cylinders yet. It was such a scramble up here with the postal strike, really limited options. I’ve found opening the Lower transfers and some slow work sure helps the 461’s
pretty awesome man. i hope you follow thru with this build even tho its gonna be a lot of unexpected challenges.
@@matthewknight5641 ill get it done one way or another. In too deep to quit.
@BuckYaSaws it's for sure gonna be a one of a kind build. I'm excited for you bro.
Seems to be running pretty good.
@@ragercrepair9301 I think so, did a small change. Need to work on the carb, acting funny. Might swap it to something bigger.
@BuckYaSaws what size carb can you bolt on that without a lot of modifications?
@ going to look into it, haven’t really did any carb swaps on a 036 yet. Probally start with a 440/460 carb
@BuckYaSaws that's what I'm running on my 55 and they make a huge difference. I think that carb flows very well. The one i built with the 372 carb runs a higher rpm, but has less low end. Makes me think with the 036 being 60 cc it would like the 440 carb.
@ going to try the 359xp carb swap mr house recommend on this saw.
Go Tony go!
I love the sound of your port jobs!
Sounds meaty!!
Curious why you didn't cut the lower sides of the piston to let it breath better into the transfers better ? Also, were you able to get your squish down to .020" ? thanks for sharing
@@SSRacing66 was going try that on one of my other v modest. Squish I think is around .023 give or take with the base gasket delete. I’m just going off memory, not near my note pad.
Sketchy...but cool.
The best chainsaw ever made
hopefully it screams. This is the type of content people like to see.
Looks like a beast!
Good setup Tony!
Man I really hope people can appreciate how cool of a project it is but honestly until you’ve built a stroker it’s not gonna hitcha quite as hard. This project demands way more attention man. Your work on it so far is impeccable. Anyways I just wanted to say I get it. Keep kicking a$$
@@Houseworksaws thanks for the kind words man! Your right about appreciating the work that goes into building one. It hit me last week 😂 had to mess with some 4 strokes 😂😂. I think people will warm up to it once it’s running. I appreciate you and the other decent people that regularly comment!
This is getting better and better! Great work so far man!
This is such a cool series build! Good work man
Thats awesome man. Cant wait to see the entire build
@@matthewknight5641 thanks man! Ya I’m getting a little anxious to.
That’s frickin awesome bro. Beautiful work
@@Houseworksaws thanks man!
Pretty sweet so far.
@@ragercrepair9301 thanks man!
@BuckYaSaws you're welcome! It's got my wheels spinning for a really crazy custom build.
@ hell ya man!
@BuckYaSaws I think I'm going to modify a 262xp cylinder to fit on the 55 chassis. I'm going to have to cut a lot off the head, the base, and change all my numbers to make it run. But I haven't seen it done and I want to try it.
@ if you can dream it, you can build it! That would be a badass build.
What do you think about the overall build quality of the saw? I'm thinking about getting one. I love building the 2511 they make so much power.
@arboristlife3494 I think it’s good for what they cost. Don’t have a ton of time on the ported one, but it’s running & holding up good so far. I agree I like building them too, they rip for 25cc.
If that 55 cylinder is close, a 346xp cylinder should be right in there somewhere
You'll dang sure like the Luckydog!! Good tool from good people!!
@@HayChaffandSawdust1 totally agree! Has a solid feeling no matter how I hold it. I struggle to get a good hold on the cheap one.
What CC does it convert to 🤔
@@justinweaver8107 should be 66.5 cc. It’s 50mm bore & 34mm stroke
Nice. I use more abrasive bits vs the burr bits with them to avoid stripping the guts out of them 😉👍
@@jimssawsnstuff8903 thanks man. great tip!
@ they are also critical for Hyway, Meteor and some Husky cylinders to reduce the amount the Nicasil plating lifts, I basically don’t use burr bits in those situations
Sweet!!!
This is going to be a sweet little saw when you're done!
@@ragercrepair9301 thanks man! Will see how it turns outs.
@BuckYaSaws I really think it will be a strong saw if everything goes like it has been as of right now.
Do you like/are you happy with the conversion?? I like it!!
@@HayChaffandSawdust1 I do like it, just something different. I’m pretty happy with the conversion for my first try. I’m just happy it’s running, was apart for over a year. I’m glad you like it, I’ll probably try to get a-little more out of it.
Very cool. Does it spin up enough to make extra power?
@@IndianaDoug didn’t seem slower with the turbo but not building real boost yet.
Its awesome you are doing this man. I wish i had a stroker crank for my 200. How much you charge to make one?
@@matthewknight5641 thanks man, the wrist pin is different size from the 200. I manly did it so I could try the bigger piston and cylinder combo. I don’t think I would get into machining parts for this build to sell. I’ll do a recap video went it’s all figured out but a lot of little things involved and lots of time.
@BuckYaSaws man it's gotta be a huge amount of time. It takes me forever just to port one saw cause I'm rarely home. I can't imagine all that goes into trying to cut down another cylinder and machine a larger crank down to fit.. bolt holes.. all kinda stuff. I'd say the intake and exhaust are gonna be a real challenge as well. It'll be a cool saw once you get it done but it's definitely more than I'm capable of. I think the specialty builds are pretty awesome and shows a lot about the person who builds them. I'd say not many people take on a challenge like that and very few ever get one completed. Good luck man and looking forward to seeing how it turns out
@ really appreciate that! Just trying to do a different & interesting build.
That looks like a dental instrument
@@nickking8317 it is.
Very good tools! I hope they work well for you. I'm looking to get some for myself.
@@ragercrepair9301 thanks man! I think it will work out great.
@BuckYaSaws it sure is better being the smaller profile like that. Should make those smaller cylinders a lot easier!
I have both of these. I like doing the dirty work and hogging with the cheap tool, then the delicate finishing with the LD. I highly recommend you do the same. The gears in the LD aren’t made for a lot of force. I put a dab of lithium grease on the gears before each use and I’m still on the first head piece.
@@IndianaDoug thanks man! I’ve heard some talk about that. I’ll be sure to put some grease in it.
Plus one in this idea. You can also grind about double the material off the end of the cheap one and or turn the handle down so you can get a better angle at the transfers.
@@FabAcres-Blackcat thanks man! I was wondering how far I could take it down.
@@IndianaDoug that makes perfect sense!
Man you are doing some impressive things and its cool you are sharing the journey
@@matthewknight5641 thanks man!
Thats freaking awesome man.
Where you buy it?
@@Zdogg001 eBay, gardenfinetools was the sellers name. Not bad for the money.
Looks great, I suggest lapping the flywheel to the new crank before cutting the keyway.
Good tip! I do have lapping compound.
@@BuckYaSaws Tooth paste works great as a super fine lapping compound on aluminum it’s also a fantastic polish compound on aluminum for when you want a mirror finish. Also smells good 😆. That’s what guys would use to polish Harley motors back in the day.
@ good tip man! Never tried tooth paste to polish before.
Nice work. These small tapers is a pain.
Do I need to tune my echo 2511t if I pipe the muffler
@@JamesOneill-x5i yes, normally a 1/8 turn give or take. I normally set my with a tach @13,000.
@BuckYaSaws I'm new to all this mod stuff normally just go stock but getting in to these little topping saws I've got ms151 and just got the 2511 not even started it yet lol
@BuckYaSaws clock wise or anti
@@JamesOneill-x5i it depends how it’s running. I would start at stock or 1/8 turn counter clockwise on the high. Then dial it in once it’s good and warm. There are some good tuning videos out there.
@BuckYaSaws thanks a lot like i said I'm new to this mod stuff but looks good
I use lots of forester products they are very under rated.
@@brainiacproductions357 totally agree, we used them a lot at the big company I worked at. Had pretty good luck with them. It’s a killer deal for the lite weigh bar.
What did you do on your port work? If you don’t mind me asking
@@brainiacproductions357 yo man, the first one got base gasket delete, intake & exhaust work. 2nd build was the same but did some transfer work. Let me dig up the numbers.
@@brainiacproductions357 number we’re 107,128 & 76 with .033 squish. You got one you’re going to port up? Look forward to what you whip up!
@ I’m porting my Neotec 2500 seems pretty close to v modest clone.
@ ya they do look pretty close.
@@BuckYaSaws scratch that pretty diffent single transfers on both side and port numbers I’d imagine are a bit different. I’m just gonna widen the transfers, lung the intake, raise the exhaust and lighten the piston and hopefully it screams. My buddy wants to take it into the tree so any improvement will be great.
To machine the taper dial in your compound using a 200t crank and test indicator. I can weld that spark plug and change the angle for you.
@@srcarr52 I’ll give that a shot! I was thinking along them lines for the taper. Might take you up on the plug job. Thanks for the help!
Man I love this project
@@Houseworksaws thanks man! Glad your enjoying it! You have been a big help on this build!
@@BuckYaSaws Any way I can help don’t hesitate to ask. Really cool seeing the progress of it.
@ ill have to let ya try it out when it done.
@ right on 👍
this is an interesting and ambitious project. Your lathe seems to be doing well for you too.
@@jamiewykes8585 thanks man! Yes the lathe is doing well. Love that old girl.
Very nice work
Thank you!
A #30 handpiece fits perfectly in a 1" boring bar holder too. Can you make a spacer plate to cover over the rest of the crankcase?
@@srcarr52 that’s a good idea! I think that could work out, got some meat on the base I could trim for a spacer. I can’t help but think what other cylinders 42-45 mm bore could fit with some machine work. That Husqvarna 55 cylinder isn’t that far off. Thats a great tip on a #30 handpiece in a 1” boring bar! Thanks again man!
You realize you'll probably get requests to build these for folks if it turns out the way you're hoping!
@@REpowersaws24 ya I could see that, but its a fair amount of work. I would like to see other people try it out. I have a 2nd 024 crank on the way so might try a V 2.0 but will see. That 55 cylinder isn’t to far off the mark lol.
That 55 looks awful close. Sure would be cool to see it work!
@ it really is awful close, the plug location would have to get changed same as the 024 cyl. If I wasn’t more focus on lathe stuff I would be looking into more cylinder opinions.
@BuckYaSaws that's going to be some interesting welding and relocating of the hole to get that right. Also might have to change where the combustion chamber area lands to move the plug. Should be pretty awesome once you're done!
That’s cool 😎 👍
She pulls good! I’ve got a couple 200T’s that I’m working on right now too 😉 I hope mine pull that good when I’m done
@@jimssawsnstuff8903 thanks man! I normally don’t raise the exhaust on my 200ts. Just widen a hair and some intake and transfer work.
@ same here. Once I adjust squish to 0.022”, the Exhaust is about 98* I raised the transfers to 123* and 130* and opened the intake a bit from the 72* to 78*…will see if that does it 😜
@@jimssawsnstuff8903 I like your style! Should run good. Thats normally where I end up around. Going to try 102* on one once a get alright at chamber cuts.
@ cool. I really like the shape of the chamber, the D” is great, I have a couple older Stihl 044’s and 046’s that have it too. But yeh a chamber cut will boost compression for sure. I’ll be interested to see what this one is making once it’s done.
@ ya that would be cool to see what it puts down, I haven’t sent off any of my saw yet. I got one D chamber 044 cylinder.
That’s cool man! Definitely an interesting build! 😎👍

Yes just a regular v belt. If you change try and get soft flexable belt.
