I helped my buddy put one of those on his Atlas 12" . He's new to machining , I'm an old retired machinist guy . I found that chuck on Amazon , for $ 185 . plus the back plate and it has removeable jaws . I couldn't believe it . It is one nice chuck .
@@markmiller6817Im kinda in shock to that it’s as nice as it is for the price. I’m pretty new at running a lathe, did some simple stuff when I was a teenager at my friends dad shop, but he would set up the machine and I just changed parts and turned levers haha. Just learned how much the level can affect the cut. I was getting a slight tapper turning my mandrels. Should have my machinist level tomorrow. I’ve been watching mostly lathe videos the last few weeks. Thanks for commenting.
@@nickking8317 thanks man! Ya I would never hammer one off. I did get them 3d printed spindle locks. How you like that mini lathe you got? I was going to get a 7x14 but got a deal on this & like old stuff haha.
Keep us posted Tony, what a great tool. Keep cuttin' brother!

Just a tip don't use a hammer to remove the chucks use a shifter and a cheater bar and lever it

How do you like the segmented drive belts? Do the slip in reverse?
@@jturick they are nice to install & run smooth. I haven’t tried in reverse, mine doesnt have the bucket switch yet.
That link belt will ruin your pullys. I had the same brand belt and took if off as it was wearing the pulleys. Mine is an old '37 Craftsman also.
@@robertskelton2576 thanks for the tip! Are you using just a normally type v belt?
Yes just a regular v belt. If you change try and get soft flexable belt.
@ thank you!
