Killbear 2024
This is our 12th year at Killbear as a family!
I camped here every year as a child and have found it's gained a lot of popularity over the last few years. If you want to get a campsite you have to be ready to book six months in advance.
Please feel free to comment if you have any questions about the park!
Not included in the video is the General Store right outside of the park. You HAVE to visit the store during your stay :)

      I went to school in Toronto to become a Child and Youth Worker! My degree led me to so many incredible opportunities like being a preschool teacher, teaching at a Montessori school, and eventually finding my way to becoming the Children’s Librarian! I am working with children all the time. Creating and running programs is a fun part of my job, but not the main part. I feel like the most important part of my job is teaching all of the children I meet that the library, is a safe space. They know when they visit the library, Miss Brittany (me 😉)will be excited to hear their stories, and will always be ready to help them with whatever they need ❤️ same goes with the adults I meet as well! My Instagram is Missbrittloveslit if you ever have any more questions and want to send a message!

    Awesome! So much simpler than the way some other vids explain it. 1. Blend whipping cream/heavy cream (35%+ in fat) until it separates into butter & buttermilk. Takes about 10 mins. 2. Strain. Keep and store the buttermilk. 3. Blend the butter solids in cold water 4. Strain 5. Squeeze butter to by hand to further strain. Done

    Thanks for the blender demo. I have used mine but went past the separation phase and it remixed. So by adding a little yogurt I made it into sour creame for a cheese cake. I'm sure someone will say I'm mean but your children interrupting is not cute! Seems like all you young mothers think it's ok to do these videos and have your children interupting and making noise, but you want to be paid and considered professional and taken seriously. Can't have it both ways. You have good skills, use what I'm saying to your advantage. Pull your hair back and have your space child sound free. Those two things will carry you far in what your doing. Best wishes.

    One other tip. Plunge into an ice bath. It hardens much faster. Goat butter is different instead of yellow its white. Also late in the whisk cycle, buttermilk starts coming out of the butter. Perfectly normal.

    The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

    how was the privacy of site 94 - could other campers see or was trees blocking and was it close enough you could hear ppl ? or good distance ? and last question, would you book this site again ? :)

    • @beeathome
      @beeathome Рік тому

      The one side was completely private and the other side (with the picnic table) we could see the neighbours a little. We hung out clothes line to block that site line. It didn’t matter though because the site was massive so we put our tent on the other end. We had two cars so that completely blocked the entrance to the site. If I was booking at Mew Lake I would choose this site again, however we like much more secluded camping so I doubt we would choose this campground again because it was so close to the highway and did not feel as secluded as sites in areas like Canisbay.

    Can you blend it too long? Or maybe I'm not starting with the right cream... First blender, then mixer... 20+ minutes into this and all I've got is really whipped whipping cream... I just noticed it says ultra-pasteurized. That a problem?

    • @beeathome
      @beeathome Рік тому

      The un pasteurized shouldn’t matter… I wonder if you don’t have a high power blender? The best way to test if you have the right cream would be to take a small amount in a jar and shake it up to make butter the old fashioned way. It does take a while to turn to butter in a jar (10-15 mins for a small jar). To me it sounds like you are just halfway through the butter process. If you have a less powerful blender you have a risk of burning it out by having it on for so long.
