Perennial Update! Zone 8b North Texas Gardening
Hi Dawn, glad I found your channel - I live in Arlington. Totally not related to the video. I swear I hear a New Orleans accent in some of the words you use. I have family in LA. Just curious, are you originally from LA?
What a great job! Projects like this don’t have to be expensive, if anyone is looking for the supplies to do this themselves, Paradise Landscape Centers is the place to go !
This is really really nice. I live in a 8B zone too.. I want to learn to grow fairy like gardens ❤☺️
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you for sharing! I live in the metro area & never heard of the garden center you visited. I typically go to Covingtons for good plant options but I will definitely visit this one.
You definitely should! I’ve never been to Covingtons! I need to make a trip there!
Beautiful garden. I use the Bioadvance Tree and Shurb Protect and Feed on ny crepe myrtle. One application. They are beautiful this year 😍
Thank you for the tips! ~ Dawn
Your greenhouse is so cute
Thank you so much! 😍 I love it!
Thank you. Very helpful.
Glad you found it helpful!
Love the space! Tell me about your pathway!
Thank you so much! What would you like to know?
You have the prettiest trees, do you have a video with names of what all you have by chance??
I do not, but thank you! If you tell me which ones you are interested in, I might be able to name them for you!
Where did you find rose creek abelia? Only able to find kaleidoscope and canyon creek
I found them at our local nursery Calloways. Have not seen them at any of the big box stores!
What kind of white rose is that in the beginning of your video?
That’s a white drift rose!
😂yes
😂🤣
I have to do the same on my sidewalks and I always hate doing it!
Right?!!🤣
All the time!
hehe...
My blackfoot daisy has taken over my secret pathway and I can’t take it anymore! I have avoided trimming it because the pollinators love it so much, but it’s gotten to where I am having to step all over it to access my garden for upkeep! I know it’s important to maintain a balance between keeping your garden accessible and functional and also to support the pollinators....but, it is SOOO hard to do!!! I trimmed just enough to clear the path, but still had to cut off most of the blooms:( Hoping in the upcoming weeks, it will put on enough blooms to keep them coming until fall arrives! Anyone else have difficulties doing this?!!
Thank you all for watching and joining me today! Happy Gardening! -----> tinyurl.com/ywuuacnc
I think you need to frame it with treated 2x4 painted black. You could make a door frame out of wood an insert the metal panel.
Have a carpenter build a custom screen
Oh yeah! That would be wonderful.
It looks great. It would be fun to add swing doors on the open part. Not sure it is possible but it would be a nice addition. It does look great just as it is. Great job y'all!!!
Thank you, that's a great idea! We will keep that in mind:)
Looks great Dawn! Great problem solving! I think it looks fine with the gap there for access to the pool pump.
Thank you Shannon!
BEEautiful plant!
Thank you!
Looks great as is!
Awesome ~ thank you for the feedback!
❤
That looks amazing.
Thank you!🤩
@@shadedfromreality your welcome.❤
Coleus tree, what a great idea!
Thank you!! I’m excited to watch it develop!
Glad you got your screens!! Those are different than the ones I have, but I'm glad they worked out for you!
Thank you Nicole! I am glad they worked too!
What kind of zinnia is that?
Magellan Zinnia
It would be a lot easier to leave it like it is and be able to get to your equipment. It looks great. Can you share the link where you got that product?
Great to hear. Thank you! Here is the link: www.wayfair.com/outdoor/sb0/privacy-screens-c1871591.html
I think it looks great I wouldn’t add another screen if it was me I like the open access…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Oh great! Thanks for the feedback!
@@shadedfromreality You’re welcome..👍🏼👍🏼

Beautiful!
Thank you Natalie!
What zone are you in?
I'm in zone 8b...
Beautiful. What is it?? TlI believe I need that in my garden!❤
Caryopteris I think
Hi Doreen, It is described in the Description! It is called BlueBeard! Yes, agreed... you need it!!!
Yes :)
Thank you. Love it!!
@DoreenRauch-b9j You bet!!🤩
I would love to get my hands of the blue. I have never seen it!
I have never seen the blue in person and agree...would love to get some!
Thank you all for watching and joining me today! Happy Gardening! -----> tinyurl.com/ywuuacnc
Where did you get this one? Did you know it comes in pink now?!
No, I didn't know this, but just looked it up and it's so pretty! Thank you for letting me know! I may have to get some:)
So sorry...I do not remember where I got it, but it was at a local nursery and not online.. :(
@@shadedfromreality oh no problem! I understand! Glad to know they carry it in Dallas!
@@shadedfromreality I can’t wait to see it on your channel! Does it bloom into fall?
It's a sedom isn't it
Yes, It's an Autumn Joy Sedum.
@@shadedfromreality wahoo! I win! Well you have a lovely specimen, thanks for sharing :]
@moorflower4118 🤣yes, you won the medal!🥇
How long can you use your greenhouse for seedlings?
Not as long as I would like! It changes every year so I can really answer that! When the temps drop down with a high consistently into the low to mid 80s, I’ll put them in the greenhouse.
@@shadedfromreality Yes, the heat and cooling does not help my bills!
This really does look like a hydrangea. What is this?
This is an Autumn Joy Sedum!
Thank you all for watching and joining me today! Happy Gardening! -----> tinyurl.com/ywuuacnc
Fooled me!
Haha!
Hi, I just found your YT channel. I absolutely love your front and backyard garden beds and potted plants. May I ask where you source your seeds from? I would like to try my hand with starting seedlings.
Hi Melissa, Thank you so much for the nice words! I actually get my seeds everywhere...it really depends on shipping discounts! My GO TO because of free shipping is Baker Seeds, but I also order from Johnny's, Eden Brothers, and will pick up varieties from local nurseries as well. Hope that helps and you should definitely start! It's actually a little addicting...take that back, it's very addicting...lol!
❤❤❤❤beautiful
Thank you!😊

Thank you Michelle! Nice to hear from you!
Wow! So many blooms in july .
I think July in Texas was milder than normal this year...it definitely helped with the blooms!
You know those watch me clean my house videos? I never watch those. This.....I could watch this kind of cleanup all day long 😊 Your spaces are lovely.
Love that! Thank you so much Debra! You made my day :)
How do you fertilize? Looking to get some heliotrope! Looks so pretty
Thank you! It is so pretty. Hope you find some! For organic, I use Fox Farm Bloom Booster, if not, Miracle Grow Bloom Booster.
