ive seen the nun in broad daylight walking!! …..during the construction of the remodeling of the building there was an empty lot where it was fenced for security reasons alot of brush and uneven terrain ..the i saw the nun walking through the lot..i was thinking why is a nun walking throught a gated lot? there was no exit! she seemed to be walking towards the convent on G st..but that side had no exit! then I lost sight of where she went….

That part of Oxnard is very heavy with traffic. All units are next door to the freeway.

Oxnard is surrounded by cities (Ventura, Camarillo) who constantly remind everyone that Oxnard is gang infested, drugs and dangerous city. Thankfully, its all hype. So you people who still believe this BS stay away from Oxnard. We dont need you. Love my city of Oxnard and its great because of its people.

I want to know more about Newbury Park and how it relates to the Los Angeles area. I may be moving therefore a new job and just wanted to know how everything connects and what are some things to do around Thousand Oaks.

Oxnard is the butthole of Ventura county. Highest crime rates, largest number of gang members, poor education system, highest tax rate, highest concentration of illegal immigrants, and highest population of homeless. I can’t think of anything redeeming about Oxnard. Really bad in Southern California I grew up there, but I avoid going there.

Don’t come to Ventura. Outsiders have ruined it.

Ojai is now just a mirror of LA. My wife's family came to the valley in the late 1800's and had one of the largest cattle ranches in the area as well as orchards. They were the Daly's and the Selby's. My mother in law delivered mail for over 30 years in Ojai and before she passed she said when she walked down the street she wouldn't see a single person she recognized. All the old families have been driven out by the LA crowd and it's now just a shell of the community it once was.

I loved living in Ventura County!

Oxnard is a shithole. It is historically a farming community which brings in the migrant population and gangs. Oxnard has the highest crime rate in Ventura County and the highest population of jail inmates in the county jail. The beach areas in this video are decent, but are kind of run down. Back in the day there were some nice hotels and restaurants, but many have gone by the wayside. ie., port royal, whales tale, casa serina, lobster trap, not to mention the defunct fisherman’s warf. This video was well done, but the last thing Ventura County needs is more people from LA coming in.

how busy is the christmas tree lane in Oxnard?

Personally, I avoid the area because I can't go through it like it used to be. I used to frequent some of the restaurants but not anymore. I know I'm in the minority, but I liked it better before.

Please don't go here. You will surely die. Rampant crime and shark infested waters. Please visit Los Angeles or Bakersfield instead.

The downtown pedestrian mall is one of the BEST things that has happened to Ventura in a long time. Relaxed dining, music, people meeting each other, businesses doing great. Before the pedestrian mall outdoor dining was miserable, parking difficult. I often chose not to do business downtown.

That new construction at wagon wheel looks terrible! It way too crowded looking and we don't need a bunch more people moving here and causing more traffic. The whole thing is a mess! Should never have been allowed

A lot of these people do not respect where they live. I’ve seen cleaner building in worse neighborhoods in the Midwest. People love to let their dogs pee and poop in the hallway. Disgusting. Elevators keep breaking down annoying. I am talking about the junction and town square apts

Seniors housing ?

Not oxnard! I spent 70 years there and finally moved. The Latino population seems to hate white people. They growled at me in the market, look away while being rude, the men think macho behavior is acceptable but it’s bigoted and rude. Housing prices are too high, groceries are too high. Gasoline is too high. There is nothing to do except go to the beach or corporate restaurants. You absolutely can’t get a job without a Latino sir name. The whole place sucks like a vacuum now. Maybe the most racist place in California!!!

Starting @ 700k for an apartment, that's just crazy. Plus I like living on the South Side less traffic and people. Right by the 1hwy I can shoot straight to Malibu and Santa Monica!

HOA's are trash. They need to create a code of conduct for them.. Bunch of bullies

What is your favorite local spot to shop and why?

The Mystery Shop looks cool, somewhere my kiddo would love. Xielo Artisan desserts look amazing and I definitely want to check out the Oxnard community market and First Thursdays food trucks. Thanks for sharing this!

I can't wait to go shopping in Ventura! I love tea and cooking so Spice-topia looks fantastic. I've wanted to try Rumyvino the menu looks great, also want to check out Ormachea Jewelry and Salzer records. My kiddo would love Heritage honey and Industry Horror. This area looks like a fun place to shop, it reminds me of downtown Burbank.
