I still absolutely hate beetles and want them removed, but they're not the game killer. They're an irritating crutch used by slimey rats, imo. Fire beetle was absolutely a mistake. If anyone knows better counters to beetles than having to bring buckshot, lemme know. 6* lobbies are rough enough without some ass hole hitting me with fire beetles mid fight

I'm a newer player with about 100 hours and reached 6 stars recently. It's weird how such a complex game could be picked up so easily. I feel like the more I play, the more complicated the game becomes. Never seen a game like this.

Speaking of PvE/Private matches they used to have a free roam mode where you could just walk around the maps and check them out. It was really great for learning the layouts of different compounds (Not to mention also good for content creators to get footage without the risk of getting shot). I really hope they add that back. There was also a trails mode which was PvE challenges. They took that out with the Mammon's Gulch update and put the rewards from the mode into the prestige system instead. It's weird to think that the game now has less modes than it used to.

Bro... When I first started playing I was playing with 5 star friends in Europe (I'm Canadian) I know that feel of trying to get that elusive 1.0 KDA haha (I also found out later that my headphones have been set to mono for years without me knowing, but that's another issue haha)

I can say with absolute certainty that I've never seen a captain la feet. 😂 Nobody runs him, and the 0.0001% of players that do don't push him above C tier. Can confirm that 6 stars love Devil's Advocate. Others include: Billy Story, Black Coat, Lulu, Prodigal Daughter, and Reptilian.

Most MMR issues can be fixed by massively increasing the weight of a low MMR on the team vs a high MMR on the team. As it is now, it feels like the low MMR players in the team have zero effect on the team rating. As someone who is in the top 5% on Console, but certainly not the top 1%, I can guarantee that getting rid of MMR would ruin the game for probably 80% of all players. There's not many of us, but there's enough that we'd probably show up in every fourth game or so as solos or duos, and that one six star in your game would demolish the lobby every single time. MMR has to remain in place to preserve the lower MMR players' gaming experience.

When y'all were talking about the Maynard and its place in the gun sandbox, I feel it was overlooked that when you prestige (or are brand new), its the only sniper you have available to you from the beginning. All the others need to be unlocked. It's "place" is being the defacto sniper option.

My issue with Hunt is that I've been in the 6 star swear lobbies for so long that I dont have a frame of reference for the rest of the game. The last time I was in a 4 star or lower lobby was probably back in 2020. The game is so different now, I have no idea how it feels in the mid to low mmr ranges. All I know is that 6 star lobbies kill my soul. 😂😭 Still love the game tho

I am ashamed to say i have been a call of duty player for far too long time and i have been wanting to play something else for years now but nothing has gripped me, i started playing hunt a couple of weeks ago and i cannot stop playing it as soon as i get home from work, such a great game and enjoyed hearing from other new players as it does seem to get a lot of negative comments from og players… another game mode would be great though as i don’t know how people put so many hours in to one game mode, bounty clash is too sweaty for me and reminds me of warzone too much

Would love to see Ursa Mortis come back in vanilla hunt. Best thoughts to reimplement her would be having a rare chance (probably under 5%) for a meathead spawn to instead be Ursa, and the compound that she spawns in should have the thorned brambles.

You wanna know what would have really made the circus fun and interesting? Have Ursa Mortis leave behind it’s corpse and make it revive itself after a short period of time after it’s death. This would make it to where there’s a constant threat while fighting inside the circus compound both for the team inside the tent or outside trying to get in. Imagine a scenario where you pull up at the circus and get into a gunfight but then all of a sudden the Ursa Mortis corpse comes back to life and starts chasing after you, would make for some fun shit hits the fan moments.

As someone with around 4000 hours i dont think we need new game modes, i dont have a problem with them adding stuff and i think that bounty clash is a great addition. But what i love is bounty hunt, the core, the base game mode of hunt showdown. Its the best in my opinion and i dont want the main focus of the game to shift towards something entirely different. Theres been ups and downs over the years but i enjoy the game for what it is and i dont want it to turn into something like call of duty lol

Ooooof, I'm trying damn it! Almost to my 1st prestiege.

As a ~1500 hours player who started playing about a year ago, I found it really interesting that players who started hunting after I joined the game stayed for the same reasons as I did. I know many veterans prefer the old Hunt, but imo the game is still going strong. I love the new content (except for the revive bolt) and I don't mind collabs at all. Looking back to the old Hunt, I really don't think it has "lost its identity", as many veterans have pointed out. The overwhelming negativity of OG players can be exhausting, so hearing newer, more positive opinions about Hunt feels really refreshing. Great video :)

I had just started playing like 2 months ago. Tried playing Tarkov before this, but just couldn't get into it. Felt a bit unforgiving. Had Hunt showdown for a couple years on PC, but finally snagged it on PS5 and can't stop playing. Never been great at any FPS but like Battlefield. For some reason I have already hit 3 star MMR. Still learning the maps and don't quite feel like I picked up my specific loadout. Actually got laughed at by my wife, I had picked up the bounty from the circus and has heading toward a duo taking out the assassin for another bounty. I had climbed up a ladder and has contemplating continuing the push after seeing 2 other teams pushing in. Decided I would just head out with my bounty and not fight the three other teams for another bounty. Didn't check the dark sight before going down the ladder. A guy was waiting right there with a pair of revolvers. I jumped right out of my skin which caused my wife to start howling with laughter. Sadly I took a peppering of bullets to the face and died. Teaches me to run like a coward.

Hunt confuses me on the terms of what constitutes a "new player" no other game would look at a player who has 600 hours and be like "thats a new player." Hunt players on reddit always brag that they are a veteran with 1000+ hours. But i have gotten 700 hours just since the launch of 2.0 which is trackable because i play on console and the game is separated between the original game and 1896.

Bro, beetles are so common on console Hunt. Its so difficult to shoot them. They're practically free damage/burns. One of the highest KD players on Playstation gets most of his kills with traps and then re-downs with beetles.

On the topic of console/pc crossplay, I can't imagine anybody having an issue with it being an option. I doubt it'll ever happen, iirc there were some large issues with the ported version REALLY not liking the pc servers and there being enormous performance drops. Maybe in the new engine, that's different, though.

30:51 I would be nice if there was an actual physical book. I imagine like a nice hardcover and maybe some cool Concept Art thrown in there. Imagine opening it up and reading lore about the Assassin, you turn the page......an awesome Artwork of the Assassin spread across a double page maybe even with a little footnote of the artist on how they approached this piece or what they were going for.

I am a new player also and Hunt showdown became my new main game.

Its always fun for me (as a xbox player) to hear thoughts and opinions on the state of the game on PC. Its crazy how the console and pc versions of Hunt are basically two different games in terms of experience. For example, console Hunt still doesnt have an FOV slider 😂 and due to how they ported the game, the aiming sensitivity is a bit strange and its far more difficult to aim in Hunt than other FPS games, which leaves shotguns and melee weapons in a MUCH more powerful position on console than pc.

On the topic of the circus and it not feeling relevant this late in the event, I always hit up circus for big registers, trait from Ursa, and four shot/xp boon. Or to buy my bars back if needed. I go to it every game at some point. Also Ursa is pretty fun. A dynamite bundle (if it explodes right next to her) will leave her low enough to two tap with any shotgun, and a bomb lance harpoon (the explodey ones) will one shot her. Interestingly, sticky bombs seem to do nothing to her.

I tried Hunt when it released when I had a PC, I’m going to be honest I didn’t care for it The U.I and the launch bugs I really couldn’t play it. Now that it’s on Gamepass and also the engine update I have fallen in love with it. I’m definitely enjoying it even with some of the vets disliking it certain aspects rn. The only thing I can see happening is the game is just going to keep getting better and I do hope it does since I’m coming into the community pretty late.

Great video! I agree with most of the points that were made. High mmr players have a deeper understanding of the mechanics the game has and how they affect each other in play. It's truly a shame that Crytek doesn't utilise it. So many problems could be rectified or wouldn't have been introduced at all if Crytek consuted with their partners that have sunk in thousands of hours.
