snow time lapse
Переглядів 44011 років тому
Recorded on March 6th, 2013 with a GoPro 3 silver. I set the camera to time lapse, taking a picture every 10 seconds to record the rain turning into snow. It took pictures for about an hour. I made each picture a few frames in length. Filmed at the VCU Brandcenter, Richmond, VA.

Nobody ever talks about Matt Altmire. That guy's solo in '92 was an absolute masterpiece. Nothing wrong with it at all, by that era's standards. Wish there was more footage of him playing.
Also, I'd like to introduce you to the real Virtual Drumline.
The tilt was so iconic...
7:05 It's the only way lol. 7:16
Just 3 short years before the instrument apocalypse.
SCV hands down in 1991 had the coolest drum book and the best hands in DCI.
Martian Mambo and Electric Wheelchair. What a treat! Not sure how I haven’t ran across this video until now.
Mr Hennipman 😊
Hi! Can the owner of this video please tell me how I can contact them? The Vanguard Historical Society would love permission to utilize this footage for an '03 video we are putting together. Thanks!
I am! And I can get you better quality footage if you need. Happy to help!
@@RojoDelChocolate That would be amazing! Thank you so much! How can I contact you?
Yes
3:27 that hemiola groove into the ballad song. Every time.
Not gonna like, I loved these drums. Or hated them, but love them now. Honestly can’t remember.
I marched with another corps that year, and we did a fair amount of shows with BD. It was an absolute privelege to watch a corps of this caliber day in and day out, as they honed and perfected this masterful show. It has always been one of my favorites.
I thought this totally had PR beat for 3rd. Demand Level 9000. Casella's book was a monster, as was line
Awesome!!! What place did they get?
Man you have some classic videos
I miss this SCV sound
why'd they have 5 plates this year?
What a great show.
It’s really cool to see how much drum corp has evolved since this video. ‘Twas a different time
Some say those rimshots are still travelling through space and will be the first thing an alien civilisation hear from another galaxy…and promptly shit their pants
GOAT rimshots
One of the best BD shows of all time. The book, the drill, the colors, the guard, It was perfection at the time. I still love it!
Contras smacking flesh at 4:18...epic...
Damn I miss when corps marched this much. I don’t think the kids today could handle it.
2:33 ok how is that so clean
the clean shots echoing is just beautiful
I'd take this drumline, over ANY modern day drumline! Accuracy, power, dynamics, and musicality at it's finest. No need for the drumline dancing around for half the show! No need for electronics to cover up mistakes. Oh yeah, and Star got ROBBED in '93!!!!
If only high school bands knew the meaning of a productive reversal, wishful thinking, they would have to lose the drama, the popularity contest and immaturity, and they would have to set and accomplish goals.

God damn. ScoJo. D a y u m. This is what’s needed in DCI today. Just more sack and more notes.
Almost 20 years later and those quarter notes on bottom at 1:01 still gets me hype
That's around the timestamp in the show when the side one corps and the side two corps first arrive together in space. Those quarter notes are both hype and practical... literally "bringing us together" for the first time, that late into the show. <3 03 alum
1:38-1:45 Extra funky.
The shot...1:55
Didn't see much of me marching, but there are some quality shots of the cones and placards I got to put out that summer.
I see lots of shout outs to Jim Casella for this - he does deserve his healthy share. Let's not forget the wizardry of Murray Gusseck starting back in 2002 developing this line over the next few years to set the paradigm for DCI. Jim Ragsdale, Glen Crosby, Ralph Hardimon all get a huge shout out - same for members Brian Perez, Dustin Schletzer, and Patrick Haedtler who each grew this line through their commitment and talent. There were also some very talented up and comers in this line!
Came over here from Jafromobile's title video because I really liked the arrangement. I must say I am mad impressed with this. I don't understand how they stay so tight. I can't even keep my own limbs that tight lol.
my marching band director played tenors on this line lol
What’s his name?
Weird to think these people are almost 40 now 😩
got damn
always been my opinion that BD 97' is the greatest drumline in DCI history.
The OG Hannum Lick that transformed into The McNutt Lick years later @ 1:25
Is that Murray Gusseck I see?
2:34
I just shared this with Star Alumni. They will be over soon to comment. 😉
Love the tuning sounds nostalic different now days
A decade this has been here and UA-cam only brings me here now? SMH
Damn
Legends say they're still practicing this very lick to this day
Agh! The audio cut out right at the inverts in the snare break.
