Question? I’m using salifert and still not a 100% sure I’m doing it right. My question is, if my ALK kit shows I’m @ 0.26. Do I need to add ALK in order to bring up my readings to that happy medium between 0.48 to 0.54? Or am I way too high already? I have not started dosing yet, cause I’ve always been afraid too, But I’m just now starting to add corals to my new tank that has been fish only for the last year. I sure could use your expertise.
I have read on those test kits like for the calcium test kit that “It's very difficult to determine when the solution turns blue. . The solution itself doesn't turn blue. As you add reagent, blue "chunks" fall out of solution. And this blue snow is what you are reading . “. Your thoughts on this please? as I’m about to order a new calcium kit and I usually use salifert.
C Avery for the past 4 months of using the kit never have I experienced it chunking up . It's really easy test to perform. U add the scoop of powder 10 drops of reagent B swirl for 5 sec and then u start adding your drops. Color starts out pink and you can clearly start noticing the color change into blue . Pretty similar to salifert
Those kits are nice!
Nice kits. I haven't see those for sale anywhere around me but I will keep an eye out.
