Small Bear Just Walked Up

This was shot about 3 pm. I was taking a break, when he just wondered in. I shot this for my kids and grandkids to see. I decided to make it public. I’m not a professional UA-camr, so I know the quality isn’t very good.

Beaver plugging a hole punched through a Beaver Dam
I still have one. and refuse to sell or give it away. I call it my lucky car. If Chevy were smart, they'll bring the Geo back with power steering of course. Love your comment at the end.
moron
Bravo! Great video of your Geo. And I agree. I've got a purple Geo Metro 1996 88,000 + miles on her. Bought her new. She's done me well. People want to buy her. Nope. I'm keeping her.
I have a 2000 geo metro . Bought it for 100 bucks ! Drove it thousands of miles no problem! I've always loved geos!
WOW you stole it. Their getting hard to find now. I don’t think it’s because there’s not many around, I blame it on the people that have them, aren’t selling them! A good one, isn’t cheap when they do pop up.
That color is beautiful
Well it doesn’t look as good now. I still have the car and on Oct 31 I left Maine for Mexico. I hit a deer about 100 miles from home, and the hood was smashed in, broke the one headlight out, and the deer swing around and smashed the passengers door in too. But I continued on with my trip and I’m currently 800 miles south of the Texas border in Oaxaca, Mexico for the winter. The car has 236,000 miles and still runs like a champ. Cosmetically the car has a lot of dents etc, but it doesn’t have any rust to speak of, so my plan is to continue doing the mechanical stuff it needs and keep driving it no matter what it look like.
@@dennisconrad6124 fuck yeah bro! Keep that beast running!!! Gonna outlast all of these POS EVs
That is not a big tree at all your not a logger are you
I don't think he is that just like 40-65 year old poplar
he needs a chain lol
Probably once in a lifetime never seen a beaver plug up that hole thank you for letting us see this
I was amazed that I even got to get that close to them while they worked at plugging it. Since that video, I’ve come to realize Beaver are a very “focused” animal. In this situation, they had a problem, and there didn’t seem to be anything that was going to get in the way of dealing with it. That included me sitting 8’ away. At the end of the video, I had moved to where I was standing in the stream filming. I was only 5’ from him. You will notice when the Beaver came to the opening, it stopped for a split second, looked at me, then continued.
@@dennisconrad6124 yes I did notice that you looked right up at you and kept on working
They work so hard,,,,bless all gods creatures!!!!!
Good job catch them!!!
Biggest rat I’ve ever seen! Imagine the size of the trap!
In their DNA for sure. Mother Nature's perfect builders.
Very helpful. Thank you. I'm planning on doing something very similar soon.
Well I’m glad it gave you some ideas. It’s been 5-6 years since I did mine, and this has been the handiest thing I’ve ever owned. Since it’s just me, I never put the front seat back in, even though I can in about 5 minutes. I’d really plan on putting the floor in using pieces like I did. Too many curves to try to do bigger pieces. I just used 1/4” like sign board bought at Home Depot. Good luck with your project.
@@dennisconrad6124 thanks!! This is too funny.. I was just now telling my niece about all of these car/camping modifications because someone in my aptartment complex just threw away a 40$ piece of pine board.
That’s funny shit right there!!
Thanks! It was quite the experience filming this. I never would have imagined they’d come in that close. During most of it, I was about 8’ from them. But then I moved, and the last part where he chews off the limb, I was about 5’ from him standing in the steam they were trying to stop. If you notice, he stops and looks at me, then continues on with his job.
Need a gun not an I-Pad.
Dam good dam builders.
Man those are some ballzy beavers! They need trapped
This is so funny as is the commentary!

Can’t believe they are that brazen with you standing right there.
I couldn’t believe it either. But I thought about it later and to me it just proves how determined they are. I happen to get another short video clip that shows the same thing. This isn’t a very good video, but it’s only 2:17 long. Had punched a hole through another dam to install a water level control sleeve. Went back that evening to put up a trail cam on the hole. The beaver that walked right by me shows again how determined they are. That Beaver wanted to go back to the other pond. It didn’t care if I was there or not. ua-cam.com/video/fbKWHOGOb3g/v-deo.html
If I wasn't in a relationship I would travel around in a Geo Metro by the way I do have one it's the convertible model and it only comes out on dry sunny days
Your absolutely right my friend!
Great video!! I have a 98 metro like you just green. I am the second owner after my neighbor. I replaced the engine and transmission at 420,000+ miles in just four hours. Easy replace. Fun to drive. My only issue is my exhaust is too loud. I didn't put a cat back on and the muffler is about finished. Amazingly only found one rust spot. I want to delete the seats like you. Keep up the videos. I'm sure your car will last a long time.
Did you get 420,000 miles out of the original engine? Was it the 1.0L?
Get a damn 12 charger... Keep an extra battery...I miss my Geo Metro.. my rusted out..
All I can say is Dennis your sense of humor makes you someone I would like as a friend. I am probably older than you and am more adverse to killing than when younger. I can't watch these trapping shows it seems kind of heartless though I know there is a need for them.
If you would stand back a bit and use telephoto on your camera and put on a ghilly suit like a bow hunter and paint lines around your eyes to break them up by golly you could get National Geographic level videos of the busy beavers. Just don't approach too close they killed a Russian guy with those massive choppers. I think they hit a leg artery.
That’s interesting. Obviously they have pretty strong Jaws to go with those teeth.
You'll be tearing that dam down everyday. You should have a gun with you, and dispose of them when they come to the dam. They are hard to get rid of, and will cause a lot of damage to your property.
Well said , I have a four door 94 Geo, 5 speed. I have not taken it on a long trip yet but in the city I get 44mpg. I've rebuilt the engine myself and found a "parts" Geo for the future. Does your A/C work?
I had a new AC put in it. Cost me $1400. But it never blew that cold. But since the AC didn’t work when I bought it, I didn’t have anything to compare it to. It helped, but I was in Arizona, and these cars have a lot of glass area, so it never got as cool as I wished it did. Frankly, I wish I’d kept my 1400.
@@dennisconrad6124 mine has the AC in it as well but it needs to be serviced, mine never blew that cold either. I'll just stay in cooler temp during summer if possible.
Very cool watching them work! The one that didn't bring anything must be the building inspector.
Great video of beavers, I thought they only came out in the dark to fix a dam.
In the summer they seem to come alive about 4pm.
LOL, that is so cool.
Id really hiss him off wait till his back is turned then take out what he has just placed ..
shoot

Work ethic
HAHA! 0 shits given.
What a monster! I was searching WAY too low in the tree line, lol!
Yup. I'm gonna buy the one I'm looking at. Thanks you. December 2, 2020 Wednesday
Awesome footage! Hahaha. It´s not scared of you, that´s for sure.
marjolein eijpe To me it shows the determination Beavers have. It was determined it wanted to go back to the other pond, and it didn’t care if I was there.
Never saw beavers actually work on fixing the dam. Thanks for the view of the real work they do.
Patricia Bockenstette That was the first for me too. I was amazed at how they just ignored me. During most if it, I was about 8 feet away. Then towards the end, I had moved to get a better angle. I was probably 5’. from him when he chewed the stick off. Here’s another short video you might enjoy that I got earlier this summer. It’s not very good, but I explain why in the video. I just changed it from private to public. ua-cam.com/video/fbKWHOGOb3g/v-deo.html
Ooh, wow, amazing!
How exciting!
This stove is s o o.o beautiful. A lot of nostalgia here. Looks like you'll be prepared for about anything, Dennis
Nancy Russell Well it’s burning as I speak! I had moved from Arizona to northern Maine. I knew 2 1/2 years ago, they had everything in place to roll out the NWO. I just didn’t know how they were going to do it. BUT I DO NOW! Since I’ve lived the last 20 years with Proverbs 27:12 as my focus, I came here to set myself up to be able to live like the 1800’s if I needed to. (Can’t buy or sell). I bought 50 acres here of some wild useless land. I had planned on building a small (200 sq ft) cabin. But last year I spent the whole summer clearing land etc. then I bailed out for the winter and was able to go fly for 2 1/2 months. Well, the “virus” came about, and by late March I realized what was really going on. They’re rolling out the NWO. So, I had to shift gears. I bought an older travel trailer and as much as possible turned that into a tiny home. I moved 3200 miles to a place I didn’t know a soul. I figured I’d meet people. But my first summer, all I did was worked. Now, when I go out in town, I don’t want to know any of those people. So, long story short. I moved 3200 miles to become a hermit, by force.
@@dennisconrad6124 Good story. That was a lot! You do about have to be really isolated to get thru. Wish I could do that. Being in a rural town is better than being in the city I guess but my older neighbors are passed on which leaves me pretty isolated. Totally get what you're saying....I am a loner too. Anyway, the stove is awesome. My grandmother had a wood cook stove when I was a wee girl. She went electric in the late fifties I think. My grandparents ran a very large cattle farm on the W. VA. side of the Ohio River. Growing up on an Ohio farm myself, I have a great love for the country. I sure admire what you are doing, Dennis.
@@dennisconrad6124 P.S. Good scripture. Proverbs is all about wisdom. Haven't seen a post from Roy today. I did not know his background till I looked him up. Shocked me a little that he had three wives back when. I'll just be more an observer now Some people can get off on tangents.
@@nancyrussell1290 Well when I first started watching Roy about 7-8 years ago. I looked into him myself and was shocked. But I liked what he said, but I kept my antennas up. But after about 2 years I realized this guy says what I think. And,, he’s never tried to hide any of it. Now, if somebody tries to bring up his past, he won’t go there, because in his mind, he’s already dealt with it. enough times. Roy was on the Phil Donahue show twice back then. I think he might have even been in Time Magazine back then too. I can’t remember his whole story. If I could remember where to find it, I know of an interview he tells the whole thing. But in my opinion, nothing wrong with Roy Potter at all. I’ve been very active in UA-cam for 10+ years. Roy is the only one that has survived, that I’ve started watching. Like I said, it’s probably been 7-8 years. I grew up on a small dairy farm in southern Michigan myself. With dirt poor parents, and 5 of us kids, we lived a pretty backwards life. So,, I’m seasoned! I need to clarify one thing. When I say the 1800’s, I’m not sitting here burning candles. I’m doing it under my terms. I have an off grid electrical system, (battery bank, inverter, etc.) I didn’t go solar because I don’t think theres enough sun here. I didn’t go wind, because not enough wind. I have to run a small generator about 4 hours a day. To charge the battery bank. But, I have a small electric fridge, small chess freezer, a propane off grid 24” kitchen range, etc. do, I have most if the normal things. The whole trailer is 120 volts. No 12 volt stuff. When I first bought this, I thought. I might bail out during the winters, and spend them in Arizona, or Mexico. But all that’s changed now. So, I’m going to be spending this winter here, whether I like it or not. So, you live in the city now? Bad place to be if you do.
@@dennisconrad6124 Thanks for that input. It WAS a long time ago. Wonder what happened to the wives. No wonder he has so many kids! I can't consider Coved as the head wound unto death, so I hold back there. Personally, I don't think the President ever had Coved.....all theater I think. My years in Colorado have mostly been in a rural town where I am now. Probably 8000 people now; only 2000 people in the whole county when I first came here. The people in outlying areas, those who have been here a long time are stored up, locked and loaded. Altitude at 8500 ft and soil as hard as a rock, no one does any serious gardening without a greenhouse! Any crops have to be guarded on all sides or deer will eat them. You have moose to eat yours 😆😆
