@@katrina3717-d1i thank you :)
Update: Dave is doing amazing and currently in a 32 gallon set up and will be moving into a 90 gallon
Awesome setup! Are these plants fake? I bet your snake loves it!!
Thank you. And all of the plants are fake
I just bought my first snake, a baby Stimson python, it might not have emotional attachment to me but im definitely in love. Bindi is its name.
I only use from store or fake branches. But i was thinking of cleaning branches in shower then use mu steam cleaner that should kill anything. They in oven although 1 use 100 c and leave them in a while. But while back i was thinking about using topcaot or anything to ceal wood.off.and stop it from gettjnf mold on it
Nice looking setup. I’m thinking of adding a spotted python to go with my cornsnake. What are your heating and lighting arrangements.
Thank you. I use an under cabinet LED light and a heat mat :)
Nice, informative video
I really can't wait till I get mine soon. This has been a dream snake for me for a while now. Great video. Not too much information out in these guys!
400 degrees? my oven have 250 XD
Fahrenheit
She’s beautiful and perfect size I think
What’s up like the video and I just subscribed 😊. Also u can clean the branches in bleach water solution. That’s what I did for all my big branches and even smaller ones. It’s a half of cup of bleach to one gal of water . I use my bath tube once I fill it with water I poure a gal and a half of bleach let it sit for 30 hours then fill the tub with fresh water every 6 hours for 48 hours. Let dry for a month is so and ready to go.Also they been in the bio active cage for 4 years never had a problem. I have green tree python.
Hi, I loved your video! Are there limitation concerning the species of the tree we are taking the branch from (after it falls naturally on the ground of course)? Like are there toxic species we should stay away from or everything's fine for them as long as it's treated?
It should be fine if it’s thoroughly washed and treated. However if you have a native tree that’s extremely toxic be cautious about using it. :)
Need to avoid cedar, pine, anything "sappy". Generally you want to avoid any softwoods and only use hardwoods. Also take into consideration the ongoing humidity level in your setup as high humidity tanks will require woods that are more mold resistant! Generally driftwoods should be ok as long as they haven't come from salty water... I imagine on a highly humid environment salty driftwood may affect amphibians and arboreal geckos
I imagine a peroxide wash would also be good for sanitizing, and mineral oil for adding water resistance. Does that seem on the mark?
Thank you
So did you bake it before or after you painted it?
Before. You can also soak it in boiling water
I’m a turkey
My Children's python is not docile. He bites a lot so I have to wear gloves when I handle him. :-(
Really enjoyed your video. I had spent several months doing research on Children's Python's and Rosy Boas for care and enclosure size as well as handleability. Both snakes have a very nice handleability score and similar requirements for temperature and enclosure size. I went to our local annual Reptile Expo and purchased a male Rosy Boa after looking around for hours. I did see a nice Children's Python but another guy made an offer that was accepted before I could ask. My male Rosy is the Mexican color version with the dark nearly black stripes over a creamy base color. AS you noted the snake may have a fairly long lifespan as my Rosy does and at my age he will be alive thru most if not all of my retirement years.
cool idea with the peel and stick tiles!
i also adopted an abandoned gecko....but now she is much better,
I’m glad she’s doing better :)
You're amazing for what you've done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 my only question is how did you get him comfortable enough for you to hold him like that?
Honestly it was his choice to trust me. I don’t force my animals to do something they’re not comfortable with. I let him learn that I’m a safe space and I’m not going to hurt him. He seemed to figure it out pretty quickly and now comes to me when I open his enclosure. It’s just a matter of time, patience and understanding their perspective. :)
@@ReptileRave16 that's awesome, thank you for responding 😊
I name my pets with Swedish old persons names. 😁 Intresting video, I think this is quite common with "beginners pets". I went and bought a gecko including a terrarium and all accesoaries for around $100, it used to belong to a girl who grew up to be a teenager and got tired of it so they bascicley gave it away.
Thanks for the video love these snakes
#1 Children’s Python channel
Thank you so much :)
Thanks so much! this video helps a lot if my new children's python ever needs to visit a vet. Also just wanted to say how much your videos help! I can't find many videos that sort of specialise around the children's pythons and that show small things you might need to know about them. Most videos of UA-cam pretty much don't show/tell you everything you need to know, but your channel has a lot of topics and facts about them! It really helps me. There was still stuff I didn't know about yet even though I've done a lot of research and watched and spent many hours watching videos about Children's Pythons until I came across your channel. And I have learnt a lot. Love your channel and its content, keep it up. 🌟
thank you, your awesome! this helps a lot. cheers.
I’m glad it was helpful. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer them. :)
@@ReptileRave16 One question, I know this has nothing to do with the topic of the video but I have not been able to find someone to answer the question. My baby snake is about 2 months old and is still quite small and young, i was just wondering if you feed them more does that make them bigger? I would like to grow my python up a little bit but I'm not sure if their is a way to do that. Is there? ☺🤔
@@igamemostofthetime is your snake a childrens python? What size rodent are you feeding? I can give you better advice with that info :)
@@igamemostofthetime if he/she is a childrens python you could do slightly larger rodents. You’ll want to avoid feeding too much or power feeding. Power feeding will make them grow quicker but it will cut their lifespan in half. It’s best to let them grow at their own pace.
@@ReptileRave16 yes, my snake is a childrens python. She is still quite young, around 3 months old. I feed her pinky mice once every week.
Awesome video that a beautiful dark specimen
Thanks you! She never fails to amaze me :)
Great vid. I had one crawl out from under the clothes dryer in the middle of suburbia California. Explain that!
Thank you! That’s weird if it was a childrens python cause they’re not native there.
Is that one full grown?
She’s very close. Full size is usually around 3 feet.
I just upgraded my spotted enclosure to 3ft x 4ft high. She's loving to climb.
I've been watching videos on care for Childrens Pythons for an hour now and yours is by far the best. Simple and to the point, relaying all the necessary info. Thank you.
Thank you. I’m glad it helped. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer them.
veryyy true!
@@ReptileRave16 I've got a question, here a few months later haha. How often should I be changing substrate?
@@smartacus88 I recommend removing waist from the enclosure on a weekly basis. As long as you’re doing that full cleanings will only a need done once every three to four months.
@@ReptileRave16 Thank you. Also, my snake is a spotted python. The children's pythons cousin haha. Does all of your recommendations for children's pythons apply to him? I actually got him from BMT reptiles through morph Market.
