I only use from store or fake branches. But i was thinking of cleaning branches in shower then use mu steam cleaner that should kill anything. They in oven although 1 use 100 c and leave them in a while. But while back i was thinking about using topcaot or anything to ceal wood.off.and stop it from gettjnf mold on it
What’s up like the video and I just subscribed 😊. Also u can clean the branches in bleach water solution. That’s what I did for all my big branches and even smaller ones. It’s a half of cup of bleach to one gal of water . I use my bath tube once I fill it with water I poure a gal and a half of bleach let it sit for 30 hours then fill the tub with fresh water every 6 hours for 48 hours. Let dry for a month is so and ready to go.Also they been in the bio active cage for 4 years never had a problem. I have green tree python.
Hi, I loved your video! Are there limitation concerning the species of the tree we are taking the branch from (after it falls naturally on the ground of course)? Like are there toxic species we should stay away from or everything's fine for them as long as it's treated?
Need to avoid cedar, pine, anything "sappy". Generally you want to avoid any softwoods and only use hardwoods. Also take into consideration the ongoing humidity level in your setup as high humidity tanks will require woods that are more mold resistant! Generally driftwoods should be ok as long as they haven't come from salty water... I imagine on a highly humid environment salty driftwood may affect amphibians and arboreal geckos

I imagine a peroxide wash would also be good for sanitizing, and mineral oil for adding water resistance. Does that seem on the mark?
Thank you

It should be fine if it’s thoroughly washed and treated. However if you have a native tree that’s extremely toxic be cautious about using it. :)
