The PS2 has excellent image quality on a tube TV. On a modern TV it comes down to a game by game basis and how good your scaler is. Some games have fantastic image quality like MGS2 and some have poor image quality like The Bouncer.

Oddly enough my issues with the game weren't what others mention. My main issue was the action combat, I came off of beating Nioh 2 when playing this & not having invincibility frames during a dodge just felt wrong to me. So I switched to Classic gameplay which allowed me to enjoy the game much more. My other issue was too many "hidden" load screens scattered around the world, but this was fixed with the PS5 DLC & I know won't be an issue with Rebirth when I get around to playing it. For me combat wise I'd like something in between FF7 Remake & FF16 to be the new standard. Give me that party control & ability to slow down & make decisions, but the action part better be on the level of a Souls, DMC or Team Ninja game.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game before but have always wanted to. I plan to start with the very first one, and the remastered version seems to suit me. I'm not sure if I'll play the original first and then switch to the remake, but I feel like I need to let it settle in my mind before going for the remake. I want to experience both versions. If I do play the original, I don't intend to complete it, so I can save more time for the remake. I just want to experience the story.

GTA 5 is the only GTA campaign I beat without using cheats or putting down for a long break. Also for gameplay footage I use a personal UA-cam account to help keep my pc storage clean by having them "Unlisted" so I can download with any of the UA-cam to mp4 sites if need be. Also side note I've been a huge souls fan since playing Demon's Souls, probably in 2010 if I remember correctly.

I'm probably going to receive a lot of backlash and hatred for this opinion, but it has to be said. Almost all of their games utilize(d) predatory FOMO in order to bait people into purchasing in-game content which in turn provided strength for most PvE and PvP missions. Social Empires was the most notable one. I was 14 years old when I played this game. Needless to say, almost all of my pocket money was put into Social Empires. It may not sound like much, but if you spend a total of ~80€ over a time span of round about 5 months as a child on a singular game, you know you're misspending your earnings. It was after those 5 months when I started looking for hacks, which I was able to find. I did the same in several other games which were similar in that regard. Social Wars, Crazy Penguin Wars and similar games. And yes, while hacks defy the purpose of a progression-based build-up game, if the game is too pay to win and barely provides content for free to play people, it's a better alternative than spending half of your adult income to be somewhat good. In some way, Socialpoint is to blame for why the game was shut down.

Ive clocked almost 400 hours on risk of rain 2 and am still finding new ways to enjoy the game! I would highly recommend trying eclipse mode if you’re already comfortable in monsoon, it adds a lot of depth to the game :)

While I do recommend buying the game, you can't support the people who made it that way. Hopoo, the devs, sold it to Gearbox, so they're no longer making money from it.

I've also got a backlog problem, I find the effort it takes to get into a new game to be very high but I also am just so sporadic with what I want to play that it feels like by the time I've gotten thoroughly into something I start having wandering eyes towards the other games I play typically. It's been a month or so since this video, I wonder what kind of progress you've made on your backlog?

Great video, it really does a great job of going over all the best parts of this game! If you ever need something to put on your 2nd monitor I'd def recommend the races hosted by Risk of Resources, usually 4 players speedrunning a set seed on different character loadouts. (There's also quite a few out already so it'll take awhile to get through them haha)

Don’t forget to consider trying eclipse. Adds a lot of depth and rewards skill much more. But if it’s not your thing, no hard feelings. It’s not for everyone

One of my favorite games ever. You mention monsoon being the hardest difficulty, go check out Eclipse. You get 8 levels of difficulty to climb for every survivor. Hundreds of hours more fun for you to try :)

For races if you want to cheese it you can just use a pass then restart the race over and over, each restart counts as a play.

1:43 I got "moving house" just going for free play, farming a lot and placing lots of 040 heli. I've done it in ~10 minutes

I am honest you need to play this game for even a year to get an achievement, if I can remember it right it was called a year in the making in which you had to get your daily reward 365, from this alone you know the game is a pain to 100%

Good luck on getting the 100% on this game. I can understand what it means to get massive games like this to 100%. I'm about to complete Forza Horizon 4 soon. I'll talk about it too.

From someone form outside, this looks fairly difficult to understand. I don't blame you not understanding what you're doing only after 50 hours. I had no idea the game has a story. Very interesting. Glad you made this video. I wanted to know about this game.

This game is so fun🎉

My recommendation for your first actual CRPG would be "Shadowrun: Dragonfall". Uses a pretty simple system to understand even for a novice and is turn-based, and has a really nice story and companions to keep you hooked from start to finish. Do not play things like Baldur's Gates, Pillars, Tyranny, Divinity, Underrail, Dragon Age, Solasta or anything of the sort. Too beefy for your first taste of the genre, and all of them besides Tyranny are also quite long.

I recently decided that I won't be getting the platinum in Space Marine 2 due to slow loading & current issues joining friends I've had. If it gets fixed then maybe I'll reconsider, but a 30 second load for levels on PS5 just seems too much in my books & brings down an otherwise fantastic game. Astro Bot however I had the opposite reaction of deciding during my first play through that I'm going to platinum it. It's not a shock as I'd intended to from the start, but now I've committed myself. Though I've got games I want to play for making content like Resident Evil 2 on N64, so I'll have to put things aside to do that. My close buddy does however do trophy hunting, primarily becsus he had the free time & also because he self-admittedly had a bit of an addiction problem with them. He's never gotten bad, but will play through a game longer to get trophies long after he stops having fun with it. It doesn't help that at least for us in Canada trophies = PS Points which can be used as money, so he's extra compelled to recoup costs beyond his enjoyment. Meanwhile my biggest collection of games for this generation is & probably will stay on the Nintendo Switch which doesn't have any trophies/achievements & I hope Nintendo never adds them. Not that I'd complain if they did, but it just goes against their core designs for most games.

There isn’t really a point to buying Entire New Games and ONLY playing them for the Achievements, Instead of trying to enjoy them. Hell, i only get all Achievements if truely like a certain game and want to 100% it

great video been feeling this a lot this last month not even playing games unless I know ill complete them. Gonna take a break from trophies for a bit cuz like you said Id rather actually finish some games and clear my backlog than spend longer getting achievements nobody will care about except me.

I guess some game might run better on it, by having better graphic or better fps, but at that point is it worth it how bit is the difference between ps5 and ps5 pro performance. Everything work great on ps5 and even ps4 for a lot of game, nothing is exclusive and why would the company produce a game that exclusively work for the pro. So you are gonna pay a load more just for the boost in graphic and fps that might just be slightly better... pass

I love getting trophy, always had, but recently yes the backlog do take a whole lot more of my time especially really older one where you get no trophy, but also with the raising price of recent game, getting ps5 game as been a low priority over getting them on steam, especially since i got the steamdeck. I still have a huge backlog of vita, ps3 and ps4 game i could play and get trophy, but like you say between playing another 50 hour to complete the game and play another game entirely playing the other game seem like the no brainer.

This is a great video discussing a pretty nuanced angle when it comes to these subjects. I think in the end the healthiest approach is to enjoy trophy/achievement hunting in games youre already enjoying. That's actually somewhat hard to do 100% of the time, but its a good guiding principle for me. Something I've found that helps is to have different outlets for thise different styles of gaming. I have my YT channel which focuses mostly on trophies, i have a twitch stream where i play my retro backlog, and i have podcasts focusing on beating the backlog and on indie games. Time can definitely be a struggle between them, but it means i always have a place to discuss whichever of those is speaking to me the most at any given time. Again, great video and great discussion. Exactly what I've been thinking about lately! It's really hard to do both at the same time, so it's probably best to focus on either trophy/achievement hunting or 100% completing games. And ofc great video as always legend!

Couldn't have said it any better. Being a completionist and an backlog assassin are two contradictory elements. I love doing both just as you do, but I'm more committed to complete the games from my real backlog than just from a large library of games I might wanna play. I truly encourage that anybody who does play this way to find one thing at a time. Either complete games or crush your backlog. I spoke about this many many times in my videos.

Yeah.... That's gonna be about $1000 Canadian if I want a disc drive for it too (which I do cuz I love my physical games) so that'll be a hard pass. Unless there's something they didn't really showcase much of then maybe but my PS5 plays everything fine & if I really care about graphics in a game I just play it on PC.
