We Added MORE Buddies to Super Mario Party Jamboree!
Super Mario Party Jamboree has been out for some time now, and I gotta say that the game has been amazing so far. But I was disappointed when I heard that only 10 of the 22 playable characters can be buddies. So I took it upon myself to make buddy effects, minigames and even advantages for the rest of the characters, plus a few bonuses at the end :)

hi, comp player of 5 years! first, great video and hits a lot of the main reasons that this pack is starting to die, here are some additional things that i think are also adding to the problem 1. quality of tracks like you said, many tracks are becoming very dated. however, this doesnt entirely mean they are bad. IMO, ctgp needs to be the QUALITY STANDARD, not the new MODERN. tracks like aura metropolis (on the new removal form) has stood the test of time and is still an incredibly polished and relatively straightforward for beginners. on the contrary, some of the new tracks (and tons of old ones that need to go too) don't have the same gameplay quality as some of the older tracks. they look gorgeous but lack what makes the top tier tracks so fun 2. mrbean himself mrbean35000vr. one if the highest ups in the community! he had some controversies but hes still the one at the top controlling the most popular ct distribution. its declining numbers stem from him, though. first: 24p mode. its not in "beta" anymore. it hasnt been worked on in YEARS. it's just being used for profit atp, and now people have fully lost interest. there's a reason why no one other than bean hosts 24 player mode anymore. second: his lack of commitment to ANYTHING else in the community. in ctgp, he doesn't really do much. his council runs all the polls, does all the staff ghosts, answer every question, etc. bean? he codes a little bit. thats all. for the creator of the pack, he does very little to keep it afloat. as for other parts of the community (mostly speaking on retro rewind as im staff there) he refuses to share ANY of his work. 24p code? private. anti cheat? private. ctgp's backbone and source code? private. he doesnt seem to want to support anything, barely even his dying work. it would be in MUCH better hands if given to someone like bento. long ramble out of the way, great video!
I’m just gonna take a guess and predict the idea for Boo’s Buddy ability will be a spin on Boo repellent. Like maybe something like hinders coins steals and if someone tries and steal a star they take Boo instead and gets them as a buddy. This might turned more into my own idea than a prediction for the video.
Interesting stuff to think about. You'll have to wait and see what it ends up being though!

I made a custom track myself (Warrior Cats Lake) with a really good layout but it's considered too confusing by veterans. Casuals seem to like it though.
RR and CTGP are like Google and Apple lol. One has all the features but is unpolished and the other is outdated and has problems but at least is better in quality. Edit: Using specific words to describe, one innovates and the other standardizes.

I don't like the game board Mr. Mover either but it's not like I've never played it. I had to play this game board every time i completed Story Mode, both on N64 and Switch.

I do feel like they needed a bit more variety with the happening space events, or at least made the raffle something that occurs whenever you pass by instead of something you have to land on. Still, I don't see why this board is "Overrated", it feels a lot like "Horror Land" from MP2 in that you need a lot of turns to be able to take in everything the board has to offer.

Idk... This board is fine to me, but not a fan of it either. See, I do have a LOT to praise it for. For one, I do think the junctions giving you a lot of options is really nice. Every choice feels meaningful and there’s a lot of strategy that can be had. Second, it may be the only board in the SERIES, other than boards where the star gets stuck on hard to reach locations (see Deep Bloober Sea, Goomba Lagoon, Bowser Land, etc.) that I LOVE to have the Chomp Call as an option to move the star if its current location doesn't look beneficial to me instead of denying it to a particular player of my choosing. Feels too much of a dick move to me tbh. Third, while a DEVASTATING happening space on the top, the incredibly amazing Easter Egg it hides, on top of hitting EVERYONE in that line and not just whoever landed on the space is fantastic in terms of design. And lastly, it's extremely charming and fairly well designed. My main issue is that I just feel like... you aren't exactly going for stars as much as how fast you can lap the board rather than actually following the main game objective. And even if you do, there's TOO many happening spaces that punish you if you try. The very one I praised multiple times on the top, the two before the star space at the bottom, any smart or even any half-smart Chomp Call usage on the board. And the worst of all: naturally roll low when you are in a tight race with other racers for one star space, get snipped and watch the other star spawn on the opposite route while you basically get nothing. I just have too many fundamental issues with the board to remote it call it peak, and if not for Goomba Lagoon, I would call it the worst board in the game. BUT... and I want to be 10000000000000% transparent here, this board would get a 6/10, which is significantly better than I would give to any awful board in existence. (Hi Snowflake Lake and Clockwork Castle.) And the board is well designed and really fun. I just have an issue with the way things play out here to the point of not liking it. NEVER afraid of playing it though. Super good in terms of game design, presentation and charm. It's just not fun to me at all.

I think what I really love about this board is how ether getting or missing the star isn’t set up so much. Like compare to Toad or Bowser for a star where there’s an entire scene of not getting the star and losing 20 coins. Just missing the star and moving onwards feels less tedious when playing the board again and again

@@nopenotsaying honestly that's an interesting approach, and I like it, but chances are you'll just go up to instantly use the speed items anyway to avoid it, which... For a fill inventory? Spending 1 item ain't the worst thing ever. I'm sold!
@@OlmiOP yeah, but i think there are chances that like you'd use a speed item prior to the pit stop, and if you enter the pit stop you'll find that you're landing on a bowser space so you gotta take the coins.

I feel like the board is supposed to be this way though tbh. You’re supposed to be locked in on the right and it’s not supposed to be symmetrical with all you can go because there’s more powerful things on the right. They decided to put boo in that position because it makes him hard to reach. You have to dedicate your path from the escalator in the middle to reach there. And they put a somewhat powerful item shop (a bit underwhelming, duel glove is only useful to good players, cursed dice sucks ass, and swap mirror is great but not the most insane, probably the best item is swap mirror). Then on the right you have the shop which has the golden pipe, which is obviously the best item in the game. And then you have the boo bell right before the escalator, so the only way to get there is if you dedicate yourself on that dice. And usually you need a custom dice to get that. And then you’re also rewarded with the raffle once you’re done there which helps a lot. It’s not meant to be a symmetrical board, being trapped there is on purpose. But with the amount of warp items this game has, I never feel like I’m trapped. Personally I always buy a custom dice from the shop on the second floor so I can either garuantee a star, or I can custom dice onto gold pipe or boo bell. I like the way they decided to position certain spaces. Like chance time being in one of the hardest spots to get to on the board along with the boo bell. I think this board is excellently designed Oh edit: I also really like how if you’re on the left side middle floor, you’re kinda given access to like everything if there’s a new star spawn. If there’s something on the third floor it’s pretty easy to get to. If there’s something on the first floor you can get to it. And if there’s something on the right side middle floor you can get to it with the escalator. You’re basically in a position where you can chose any path. Sometimes you just go up the third floor so you can get all the food items though. Or you go to get the star that just spawned in the first floor. Or the star spawn is actually on the third floor.
A golden pipe is powerful, yes, but chances are that by going left you'd probably have an easier time reaching the star yourself due to all the split paths, without spending 25 coins Boo Bell is fair, can't disagree there Super Swap Mirror is arguably better than the Gold Pipe because you can very easily screw anyone over from the star, a boo steal, or any other plans they may have, and Super Creepy Dice can get a surprising amount of use if you play your cards right Having you stuck on the right makes sense if the stuff on the right was very powerful but things on the left are basically on par with the right so it feels a little unbalanced imo It's not as bad as I made it out to be in the video though. As time has gone on I've gained some more appreciation for it
@@OlmiOP Eh, the thing is theres always going to be stars you cant guarantee, and i think a golden pipe being able to also rob an opponent of a star that should've been guaranteed them really helps. Its like screwing someone over with a chomp call. If you're in the middle sure a star can be in reach but often times it doesn't feel garuanteed because i mean, you can always low roll. Yeah i will say i said in my previous comment golden pipe is the best, it might be second best next to boo bell. Because you basically get to steal a star whenever you're ready, for the price of 15 extra coins but you'll get them back. Idk, super swap CAN be better but you also need to have the right positioning for it which isn't garuanteed to happen. Like for certain it can be the best item, but it can also be useless. Golden pipe is never useless. It always guarantees you a star, just for an extra price. I think honestly though, i don't even look a it like "the right and the left". As i mentioned earlier, the third floor left is not easily accessible. You need to get there from the middle escalator, and once you get to the bottom escalator, often times you have to decide between going up there or getting a star. I'd say the right third floor is easier to access because you can use the elevator from the first floor which is easy to get to. To get to the third floor you need to walk past the second floor. Everything on the middle right floor isn't really inaccesible because you can get there from the first floor. But the raffle is still quite good.I think the divide is far more like the third floor has all the best stuff, second floor is kind of mid, and first floor has your very easy cheap items, but also where you go as your sort of hub to get anywhere as well as collect your stamps.
Las cosas que mas me molestan sobre CTGP es que tener 24 corredores simultaniamente significa mucho para mí, pero el problema es que como CTGP es naturalmente exclusivo a las consolas originales de Wii y WiiU, no puedo tener experiencias con 24 Jugadores (ya sean CPUs o gente en-línea) en mi computadora, donde se me hace mucho mas facil modificar el juego de mi manera deseada y preferida. Pero yo lo entiendo y comprendo: MrBean no quiere que los piratas se vallan con la suyas usando este hack extensivo del juego que vendio bastante bien sus copias globalmente. Mi Control de Wii ya no funciona, asique me da mucha dificultad usar mi propia copia legal de Mario Kart Wii para jugar CTGP en la consola original, y entonces tenerlo emulado legalmente me limita a no solamente 12 Corredores simultaniamente, pero tampoco tendre accesso a las pistas nostalgicas que son exclusivas a CTGP debido a sus ausencias oficiales en MKWii :/ Tambien me decepciona que CTGP no halla logrado a añadir slots musicales que co-existan con las canciones originales, pero "that might be pushing it". 😅
I did not fully notice that most choices went to the left side, but when you think about it, it is supposed to be a semi-linear board, so it makes sense why most of the options are on the left side. Ironically enough, you claim Roll Em' Raceway to be better than this board when it is very linear just like it (this is not me saying that the board is bad, but I think it is good and I know there is at least one choice on each side of the board). The only right side choice leads to the left. I wouldn't say this is a bad thing, especially since the left options can still lead to the right or left. The Super Dueling Glove is not an exclusive item in this board, especially since there is at least one board exclusive item per board. I would know this since on my first game of Mega Wiggler's Tree Party, a master CPU got it from an item bag and used it on me. If you want to document an element of something, you need to research it first before affiming your statement (and yes, I read your reply on someone's comment who pointed this out and you saying that you haven't seen this item on any other board, but my point still stands). "The Walk of Shame" has four things worth going for, that being the stamp, the Gold shop, the Whomp, and the Boo Bell shop. It is long, but if you really want to go for those things, it is worth going for, so I would not call it bad. This board is still good and if you further observe the game design and elements, the better each time you play it and see how good it is.
As time has gone on I've been softer on the board. My original title called Rainbow Galleria disappointing, which in hindsight was a bit extreme since the board is still pretty good. You're absolutely right that it gets better the more you play it, since I've had experience on it AFTER this video was posted that was pretty good I am in the process of making a video about Roll Em Raceway and why it bypasses the typical problems of a linear board, and why I like it so much as a result Fair enough on the Super Dueling Glove, but do remember that this is still a new game, so small info bits like that are more likely to get lost compared to some older games. I've owned up to the mistake now, and at the end of the day it doesn't really matter much I wouldn't call the Whomp something "worth going for" personally, if anything it's more likely to screw you over from the boo bell, making the risk for it skew even more against you. The Stamp is cool and all but that alone wouldn't really be a difference maker for me At the end of the day this is all opinion based, and I'm aware that I'm very much against the popular opinion in here. I just wanted to voice why me and my friends felt the way we did towards the board, and think about it in a more critical way than most people do. Seeing differing opinions is always good though for anything I may have missed :)
Good thing I read the comments because the person above basically sums up why I don't think the walk of shame is THAT big of a deal, and I'll add a point it to it. The elevator alone BASICALLY makes it so you don't EVER have to deal with it unless you want to. As for the 4 points of interest that you can access from it, the Golden Shop sells you an item to instantly leave with the Golden Pipe and excellent movement in the Payday Double and Triple Dice to make most of the spaces out of it, with some extra money to boot. The Thrift Shop is awful, and put it RIGHT before the Boo Bell Shop is dumb, but the Boo Bell Shop itself is... just okay. It CAN give you two fast visits to Boo, but it is one space, and after the walk of shame... I don't know if that's worth it, chief. The last stop is the last stamp. And what I could argue is the last meaningful spot of it, and possibly the most important one, since it's guaranteed to happen versus everything else. The difference between collecting it and not is 20 coins, assuming you collected every other stamp. The cost of this is that you have to do at LEAST half of the second floor to claim the rest of the stamps. And unless you skipped the second floor stamp, there REALLY isn't an incentive to go for all four. So, that station may not even be that necessary. So basically, you could skip the walk of shame completely if you feel like you won't land on anything of ABSOLUTE interest by riding the elevator, and even if you DO go for it, you have some options to leave with a benefit. Some good, some not so much. I DO believe it's a poor board design to have that many spaces before you can leave the third floor, but it isn't so bad due to how easy it is to circumvent.

@@OlmiOP agreed. At least you would have a Custom Die for the Boo Bell Shop and Gold Shop... in retrospect, I don't know if I would like that easy of a guarantee on those two shops. But maybe.
@silverstar6589 easy guarantee for gold at the expense of a commital path, and nearly guaranteed boo bell if no thrift store for the same expense Like most people don't realize you're likely spending 3-5 turns up there for this kind of play Going left not only guarantees a boo without a need for a custom, but you also get to choose at a lot of paths so the Golden Pipes aren't even necessary
I think Apollyon’s only real flaw is just not being too interesting to play. Apart from that, Apollyon is genuinely one of the most consistently great characters in the whole game. Like considering how many items in Isaac are less useful than a stat up, and how many of them you’ll encounter in a run, turning every one of those into a stat is extremely useful. One or two damage ups can be game changing for a run, a speed up when your speed sucks can save your whole run, even just a luck up or two can help secure you an item room you otherwise wouldn’t have had you not gotten it from “Infested!” Or something, and all of those bonuses will likely be applied NUMEROUS times in place of items that wouldn’t have helped much at all. Apollyon is definitely a lot less interesting than other characters for sure, but starting with void allows any run he has to rise to the level of at least pretty dang decent, and makes great runs even greater. Apollyon isn’t always game breaking, but Apollyon will always at least be “Good”
Incendia castle is absolutely the worst track in the game

@ six king is a way more interesting concept with less long straightaways and cool cuts. Mushroom peaks is fun once you learn it and has tech to try at almost every section of the map. Pipe underworld is just a great track fun layout fun cuts fun tech

ngl. seeing stages from SRB2 Kart in this game is like playing the recent Mario Kart games (mainly DS, Wii, 7 and 8) and seeing tracks from the previous games return, it's really cool
I'll admit to not knowing at all how this board feels to play as I don't own the game. So, I'll just take your word for it.

I don’t think the Super Duelling Glove is exclusive to Rainbow Galleria since the shop it’s sold in also has the Super Warp Mirror and Super Creepy Dice which aren’t exclusive. I just think the Super Duelling Glove is an extremely rare item on other boards. Also, I think it’s pretty reasonable for the side of the board that has two opportunities for Golden Pipes (one of which is basically free), as well as a Boo Bell shop, to not have many ways to get to it
For the first point, I've played a lot of games of Jamboree on other boards, and have yet to see the Super Dueling Glove even once outside of Rainbow Galleria, hence why I'm inclined to believe it's exclusive And yeah, getting up there is okay to be difficult, but getting out afterwards shouldn't be this much of a commitment. The left side having the Rainbow Shop with Crazy items, plus the 4th place shop which gives you money, on top of a guaranteed Boo (since no event space required) is easier to access and you're generally not going to be stuck there as long anyway I also just think that in a shopping mall board you need to be able to spend money basically at all times, but the right side makes it surprisingly easy to just hoard coins
@@OlmiOP the super dueling glove is on orther maps its just rare drop from item space or item bag from lucky space. even the toad celler is on party mode i only seen it onces from lucky space on item bag.
When I saw this I was enraged, this one of the best boards it has so many gimmicks

I'm aware of this. Finding Pro Rules games on it is easier than any other At the end of the day this is all opinions. People are allowed to like or dislike any boards for any reasons they may find for themselves, and that's fine :) I'm just sharing why me and my friends think that the board is flawed, even if it's still good

@@OlmiOP yes but complaining about good things instead of what needs fixing ( like the mini games selection) is bad for developing. They will end up taking good stuff out and leaving the stuff you shoulda mentioned in. And coin economy is good in this game, with all the star stealing and buddies etc so don’t say that either.

In this game, it's pretty good At the end of the day this is all just things you and I disagree on. I think the minigame selection is good for the most part, and I think that Rainbow Galleria has issues, even if it's still good It's all opinion based in the end. Saying that it's "bad play" is a little rude and unnecessary in this case (it would still be even if it was true)

I'm actually a little disappointed about the general aesthetic of the game. The super Mario franchise is so full of magic and pretty stuff, and we got a mall, another beach and a very basic race track.

Precise shortcuts to win and needing tech to win is something I really, REALLY want to avoid as a new track creator, bc I'm not good at that stuff myself, and I want to be able to play my tracks with my family as well. It just makes it unfun UNLESS the track is built around that and for a challenge and not online. Also about the too long tracks, thats kinda funny to me because my first track is the OPPISITE of that, its maybe a little too short. I haven't released it yet but I probably should do that.

Did you not like pagoda peak because I really like that board and I never see that considered as one of the weakest or worst boards so I was confused when you listed that. If your going off your own opinion then yeah but if your going off general consensus then pogoda peak does not belong with weakest or worst boards.
In hindsight yeah I shouldn't have included it Generally I'm not a fan of Linear boards because it feels like you have very little to do in decision making, and it leaves it up to luck a bit too strongly Only real exception to that is Roll' Em Raceway from Jamboree LOL But I really shouldn't have included it. Could've done better with something like Mystery Land but I wanted a gamecube board

Apparently, there is data in the game for _way_ more specialized locusts, but it's all unused or unfinished. Like many things in Repentance, Abyss was released in an unfinished state, and even after all the patches, they _still_ never finished it. They could at least move it down from being a quality 4...

An ez fix is to just let void be used when below max charges, doing so will just use its "suck" effect and eat a single charge. Rather than all 6. Letting you stockpile more active items without the risk of having no void for the boss.
Also an interesting way to go about it!
Its kinda funny how bland Apollyon is considering how fleshed out the Forgotten was. (He was released later than Apo from the Booster Packs.) Man, he did get the short end of the stick.

@@zamany7596 first of all: "Margaret" Maggie as a character is underwhelming but she doesn't promise anything special. She's just Isaac but has more HP and can heal with Yum Heart. Very little potential to be had Apollyon had a lot of potential and doesn't go quite far enough

@@OlmiOP while I do think Maggie is the most boring, her full health pill also lets her play the first sacrifice room, devil beggar, or blood donation machine. So at least there's some depth there
i feel like if void was 1) a pocket active and gave 2x usage from active items and 1.5x stats from a passive item SPECIFICALLY FOR APOLLYON OR 2) make it 5 charges so it isnt just d6 but getting rid of items thank you for reading my slight rant about apollyon (and void partially)
Pocket active would *help* but I don't think it'd fix the issue. they also don't do pocket actives for non tainted characters 5 charges would help in a lot of runs but could veer a bit closer to being overpowered in some others so idk

honestly i wish void didn't have the whole active item mechanic. It just feels too gimicky for me. 6 room charge is a lot and you're most likely going to use void to suck up more items instead of actually using it for the active items you have. I would change it so it could also convert active items into stats and the stats would depend on the quality as you suggested. Only downside is that it would still be kinda boring to use.
I understand the want for it but the idea of using multiple active items at once is still an interesting one, so I wouldn't want to remove it personally But with the quality changes it still would probably be more interesting than it is now
It's honestly great if you run into a library, and it synergizes well with utility items like book of revelations and satanic Bible specifically. Fortune cookie, monster manual, book of shadows, and book of sin are also great ones. Because even if it takes more charges, you are getting the effect of 2 items at once. 6 charges for a void and fortune cookie will always be more efficient than using fortune cookie for 2, swapping to void, and using void for 6. You should suck up items that always give value no matter what, so you can get that value on top of using void to suck up and item. It doesn't always come in handy but It can be pretty amazing, and grants void usefulness past chapter 3 when there are much less items to suck
