"Albanian Chicken & Rice Bake: The Secret Recipe That Will Leave You Craving for More!"
Albanian Inspired Chicken & Rice Bake
Ingredients
• 2 kg chicken pieces. $7:99
• 2 cups of jasmine rice. $1.19
• 4 cups of warm water ?
• 2 carrots chopped $0.39
• 1 stalk of celery chopped small $0.24
• 1 large onion chopped small $0.30
• 3 cloves of garlic minced $0.12
• 3 tablespoon chicken vegeta or chicken stock powder $1.33
• 2 tablespoons all purpose seasoning $1.15
• 100grams butter chopped in small cubes $1.27
Total Price of Ingredients $13.98
Steps.
1. Wash the chicken with vinegar and water
2. Drain excess water off chicken
3. Chopped the vegetables, onions and garlic
4. Add chicken to a baking dish and sprinkle all purpose seasoning on each chicken pieces
5. Rub the seasoning to make sure it covers all the chicken pieces
6. Arrange it in the baking dish and start adding onions, mince garlic, carrots and celery
7. Add rice to a softer and wash it first before adding to the baking dish
8. Add warm water, chicken vegeta or stock powder
9. Stir to mix all the ingredients and chicken together
10. Finally add small blocks or cubes of butter on top
11. Cover with foil and let it bake in a preheated oven at 160-170° ceLcius
12. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked well and the rice
13. Let it sit for few minutes before serving

What brand of milk powder do you use pls?
@@user-cr2du4iw2s my apologies for the delay in responding. Been off socials the whole day. I used Devon dale brand but you can use any available or without. The rolls are fluffier with milk powder 🙏😊

What cut of lamb do you use?
@@marceladagger5992 in this video I used lamb leg with some chum chops with a bit of fat on it. I sometimes use lamb ribs or lamb flap but I have to cook it first as it can be tough and drain some oil off too as it can be quite oily.

@@user-cr2du4iw2s I don’t have a specific mango recipe with fresh mangoes added however I have made the same pancakes adding mango syrup flavor from Asian grocery they have all sorts of different syrup flavors that you could add. Let me trial one and then let you know asap. I’m returning real soon with more videos.

@@lilian8770 definitely not. If you store them in an air tight container it will stay fresh for days even for a week. By the way the texture for this Masi should be crunchy semi soft. Some people prefer for it to be soft then others like it crunchier. If you want it crunchy then extend baking time by few more minutes. 🙏💜

One more question, I am making these for a big Samoan party for a 70th Birthday. They will be displayed nicely. Do you suggest I make them round or cut in squares? Also, should I provide a jam to eat with them or is it okay without? I just want to serve them properly. Can’t wait to try these!
@@lilian8770 aww that’s nice you’re making it for 70th, you can do both shapes I just thought we always have square ones but if you can do both shapes for a 70th display it will be nice. You can also put little small like the mini sauce containers of butter and jam and spread them along with the biscuits. I know Costco sells the small butter servings that they have at restaurants with the dinner rolls. They’ll be ideal to have some around with the biscuits and mini sauce containers of jam for people to butter their own.

Hello Edward, my sincere apologies for the late respond. I missed your comment for some reason. May I pls ask which spoon you're referring to? is it the spoon I'm using to spoon the batter into the oil? If that's the case, I was using my ice cream scoop but you're most welcome to use any round soup spoon. Hope that's what you're after.

I baked it in the oven. Sometimes I steam them for the first hour and then finish off with the last hour in the oven. It’s hard to do umu or lovo here due to fire restrictions especially during our hot summer seasons. Thanks 🙏

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll take it on board moving forward. These were some of my very early videos and I understand your point. I learnt from others suggestions earlier then I tried to implement it with my other pies in later videos than this one. I hope to do it again and show better view. Thanks again for the feedback 🙏😊

Thank you. I have froze them before even with sausage rolls and then reheat when ready to use. I had no problem. I thawed them a little before reheating. Thanks 🙏

Pork mince? I could have sworn it was beef in my shepherds pies... do you have a plain mince beef with gravy recipe...?
You can just swap the pork mince to beef. I’m sorry I should’ve explain a bit better on the video. My apologies being new on UA-cam at the time and am still learning. I use pork mince because one of my family members have a reaction to beef mince so I use pork instead however it’s the same recipe but swap to beef mince. Hope that’s clear explanation. I've watched a ton of videos on how to make these and decided to try yours because I love your videos! Made these for my fiances grandma before she flew back home because she always talks about these and can't get them. They were a hit! Even the family who don't normally like them said they were great. They are very honest when something is not good so 10/10 will make it again ☺ This is the first Samoan baking recipe I've made that they didn't tell me to change at all so that's a big win!

Where about are you pls? Are you in Australia? If you’re then I got this from Kmart back then it was $149 but now it’s a bit cheaper. You can get it from other places too. If you’re in US then I’m assuming you can get it from Amazon I can look up for you and send a link. Thanks 🙏

What is all purpose flour? Self raising flour or plain flour?
My sincere apology for the delay in responding. All purpose flour is simply the same as plain flour. Self raising flour has baking powder added in it already. According to Google explanation all purpose is term used by US and other parts of the world whereas plain is used in Australia New Zealand and other countries but it’s the same thing. I dont understand. No wonder why you haven't uploaded any new videos/recipes. Because your charging for it now. Wow. Your the only one out of all islanders that i follow thats charging people to watch lol
If that’s how you look at it then it’s not true. If I was charging people with the recipes then I would label a price for each video and the amount of time people come back to view videos time and time whenever they make my recipes. Membership was introduced for anyone that would like to support the channel ingredients used in the videos and all but it’s not an obligation. To be honest I only have a few members that have kindly helped and I’m grateful for their help but like I said it’s not an obligation. You don’t know what life throws at you and what happens tomorrow. I’m sorry if that’s how you feel then it’s not true. I have my reasons why I haven’t been uploading and I don’t charge for people to watch if I do and if UA-cam has a payment system like that then I would make heaps of $$$$$$$ but that’s not true. I will upload when I’m ready and if you feel my channel doesn’t give you what you’re looking for then pls feel free to go ahead and support the other islander channels. It’s your choice
