    Dude when I did my build I got the 127400 cams and wanting to switch I thought I was getting a cam with Lope. Anyway, do you know the difference between the 127500 and the 127550? I'm making 555 to the wheels now and I like to hear your opinion. Hope you still have your Bullitt. Go Dawgs.

      Yeah I believe the 127550’s are for boosted applications. I’m not sure but I doubt they will lope quite as much, because boost tends to get wasted “in the lope”. Idk if that makes sense. And I still have it!

    • @ProjectBullitt
      @ProjectBullitt Рік тому

      Explain what you mean by “my back pressure suffers terribly”? I’m not sure it’s possible to have exhaust that flows freely enough to cause issues in these cars, especially if you’re going all the way to the rear bumper with pipes.

    • @ProjectBullitt
      @ProjectBullitt Рік тому

      If you’re concerned about popping while decelerating, that’s just unburnt fuel being ignited by the headers, which is normal. Stock mufflers will prevent this by increasing back pressure and reducing HP.

    • @ford2010

    I have an '08 DHG Bullitt. BBK shorty headers, doing the same 127500 cams and JLT series 3 intake. I think the reason the JLT didn't make any more power than the Ford Racing is because the air from both intakes has to go through the same size throttle body. I'm upgrading mine to the 62mm throttle body at the same time as everything else.

    • @ProjectBullitt

  • @dreammachinedetailing3162

    Been following your build from the beginning. I own #0890. Curious how things are going and if you've been continuing the build on the car? My car has some mods as well, but retains an overall factory vibe. Installed the Ford Performance Adjustable Handling Pack shortly after I bought it. It sits about an inch and a half lower and corners on rails. I also did the FR500 axle back mufflers, MGW short shifter, aluminum driveshaft, Boss Tubular rear trailing arms with relocation brackets and an adjustable upper control arm to reset the pinion angle. Front end also has adjustable links to help with front end sway bar geometry. I also have a set of blackheart shorty headers and the FRP Hotrod cams that are waiting in the wings for me to finally take the plunge and install. I've been sitting on the cams because I haven't really heard a lot of first hand opinions on how and if they affect reliability of the engine. My car has around 90k miles on it so curious if I should do timing chains, guides, tensioners or any other preventative things to the top end when installing the cams. I'm honestly wanting to do it for the sound and driving experience, however I guess my worry is I also enjoy it as it is and fear if messing with my cars heart could backfire. I've always enjoyed bolt on mods, suspension and stuff like that so a little leery I guess of tearing into the engine not knowing exactly what to expect. If you have any recommendations based on your experience with doing this mod I would greatly enjoy your feedback. Thanks again for the awesome Bullitt content. Hope there will be more to come. My best from Wisconsin!

    I'm on the fence but thinking of changing out my Detriot Rockers for this biggest Cam Brenspeed is taking my car and are going to install a Long Block Brenspeed 302B motor. Do you still like them? Do you really feel more power through the whole powerband?

    • @ProjectBullitt
      @ProjectBullitt Рік тому

      I love them! That said, if you’re doing all that you may wanna port your heads and go with a stage 3 cam. The 127500’s are likely better than the Detroit rockers, but you’re gunna feel less of a power bump than I did (from stock cams)

      The comp cam limiter does not work with the new style Ford Phaser that comes with the Ford timing kit. That said, they require about the same effort to install.

    First off let me thank you for great info on the 08 Bullitt. Very informative and easy to understand. Wondering how the brakes have been holding up and if you have had them on a track to test the heating properties? I just bought a 1 owner 2009 Bullitt (#6427) with an Edelbrock blower. Took it to Auto Club Speedway last Saturday and smoked the OEM brakes. Got to 500'. Porterfield street pads. I'm considering doing your upgrade. Not seeing the calipers you chose on Rock Auto. Do you know if they are still available? Thanks again.

    • @ProjectBullitt
      @ProjectBullitt Рік тому

      Thanks for the feedback! No track time, and I don’t believe the pads I chose would hold up on the track. I would choose track pads and some high quality slotted rotors if you plan to track it a lot. It looks like there are some silver Power Stops available on rock auto as of right now. I only saw the left front caliper from the brand I ordered. Make sure you look at parts for the GT500!

      I’d talk to brenspeed about that! The 127550’s are the blower grind version of this cam but breenspeed seems to like n/a cams for the centrifugal superchargers.

    So does this limit wear on timing chain? Is there a noticeable power loss? Did u re program it for this?

    • @ProjectBullitt
      @ProjectBullitt 2 роки тому

      No, it limits the variable cam timing (VCT). It does this by filling a portion of the oil galleys within the phaser. The reason for this is to prevent valve to position contact. And it absolutely requires a tune/reprogram!
