Install a Step Railing. It's Easy!

Install a 3 step railing kit, using a hammer drill, concrete bit and concrete screws. I would advise using shorter screws, though, to decrease the chances of drilling into rebar, like I did!
Install a Porch/Deck Railing DIY!

Step by step tutorial on installing a composite railing for a front porch. We like how a composite railing with balusters looks, compared to a simple metal railing, although it was a bit more complicated to build, LOL. I used 4x4s and had to support them with brackets, but you can also use metal posts that can be covered with composite jackets as well, and shouldn't need brackets. I used 4x4s s...

Muchas gracias!
thanks this is so helpful and fun to watch at the same time 😂
I'm glad you enjoyed it! They are lots of fun to build, and then lots of fun to watch the cats use it.
Great job!!! I'm sending this video to my husband 😅. It's been a couple of years that I've been wanting a catio. TY. And TY for giving God all the honor and glory,!! Your sister (and brother) in Christ David and Elizabeth. ❤❤❤❤❤️
Thankyou. May the Lord bless your efforts in creating your catio!
Beautiful!! Love it Rob! Thank you for sharing :)
Thanks, Parker! I'm looking forward to hearing your new song!
Beautiful❤! Thank you Mr Rob 🤝👍🏻🙋♂️!
Thanks, Michael. You are very welcome. To God be the glory!

Thank you! I really enjoyed this. Though I know nothing about guitars and little of music, there’s those of us that were blessed with the gift of “appreciation “. I’m grateful you shared this with us!
Happy to do it. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm not a professional musician, as you can tell, but I enjoy the hobby.
Beautiful 🤝👍🏻🙋♂️
Thank you! To God be the glory!
Not bad. Part of me wants to critique this, but in today's environment I can't bring myself to that. Enjoy art and beauty wherever you can find it. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful and very thoughtful 💚
Thanks!
My patio is really small and has neighbors apartment patios on each side of me. I need ideas anyone.
Is so beautiful ❤️
Thank you!
You inspired me! I was wondering how I could make a sturdier version to hold up strong winds and rain since I live in Florida.
You could use 1 inch pipes instead of 3/4 inch and ancor it securly with brackets, stakes or sand bags.
great video! was that an air bnb you stayed at? if so could you send me a link or a way to find it.
Thanks! It was a VRBO: www.vrbo.com/407254
Nice for a parrot aswell
Great idea, I never thought of that.
Hey! Fantastic ramp build, I'm following this to build my own for my 8x10 shed I just built. Question: my ramp is a little steeper because I have limited distance from the shed due to my driveway, about 4 feet in length vs your 6 foot ramp. At 4:43 in your video, you can see how the boards come down from the shed to the band board laying on the pavers. Because my shed ramp steeper, the 2x4s will be coming down at a greater angle to the band board. So, will I need to cut the ends of the joists at an angle to meet the 2x4 band board in the ground? Further on at 4:50, you are screwing them flush to the band board, as where I'm asking if I need to cut them at an angle due to being steeper
Thanks for watching! You can cut the joists at an angle, which other videos show, but I think it would be better to dig down into the ground to keep from cutting the joists, since they will be stronger that way. The pavers and band board will be under the ground, but that's OK, as long as the boards don't come in contact with the dirt. You can use gravel to help that, as I did. Look if you do a video you have to explain what you doing.. what you doing right now people don't understand 😊
With this video I just showed what I was doing instead of how I did it. When it received a lot of views, I decided to start my DIY UA-cam channel, and included more details in subsequent videos.
Great job. Thank you!
Thank you!
So awesome 👏🏼 Thank you 🙏
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Omg that’s so cute! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
This is wonderful.
Thanks!
Will you be my grandpa please
LOL!
Your creative ideas are so clever. I enjoyed watching your vision materialize & prove where there's a will, there's a way. Thank you!
Thank you! Yup, prayer and perseverance wins the day!
Did you cut the 2' for the ends out out of the 12' board? Was it 10' at the end?
The 2' for the ends came from an 8' board. The table is 12 feet long. Are you planning to build one? Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I used 32 pipes, 10 feet long each.
I am so thankful I came across your video! We just went thru the hurricane in Tampa and need a safe enclosure while we repair. Thank you! We have 3- 12 yrs old flame point Siamese and our 2-1yr old partially domesticated sister kittens.

That was awesome to watch. May God richly bless you back.
Thank you! God has indeed blessed me richly. May he do the same to you!
Nice job and great ideas! Does it hold up to snow and wind?
Thanks! It has held steady through high winds but we haven't have much snow for a good test yet here in Tennessee.
@@RoBeaird Thank you! Tennessee was where I wanted to move, but… going to be a grandma now, and need is to stay closer.

Wow comfortable and quite spacious. my cat will be jealous if she sees this🤣
total materials cost roughly ? i really like this it came out magnificent guys
Thank you! Total cost was $8,500, including paying the roofers $2,600.
It looks great. Was wondering why you went over the shingles instead of cutting and removing them?
I decided to go over existing shingles since removing them would have introduced leaks during the 6 months it took me to build the porch. I wasn't sure if I would be able to cover it with tarps properly. I researched other builds and saw people going over the shingles successfully.
@@RoBeaird didn't realize it took that long to get it finished. I'm getting ready to do something similar
Absolutely genius. Your cat is happy! And thank God for a smart wife keeping you healthy...that sun can be dangerous. 😎
Thanks! Yup, the Tennessee sun is brutal, LOL! My wife is indeed a blessing from God!

Any specific tips for someone in the Nashville area also looking at doing this project under very similar circumstances?? (Ranch house, small concrete porch to build off, etc)
Just take your time, make drawings and write each step down before building. Watch other porch building videos, be careful on the high ladders and pray! Make sure you obtain a permit and get the inspections done throughout the build. Have fun, my Tennessee neighbor!
The hottest guys in the world are men who can build stuff practically and can break it down super easy (because they are experienced and know what they are doing). Especially dudes building stuff for their kitties. Hell yeah
Thanks, LOL!
Shouldn't the supports for the roof go directly onto the concrete pads?
Do you mean the front posts? There are directly down on concrete pads that are 3 feet deep in the ground.
Your ladder is at a too low angle. It is safer at 17 degrees.
Great job. Looks awesome.
Thanks!
Cost?
$8,500, including paying $2,600 to the roofers
I have been watching your videos U sing, play guitar, write songsand record backing tracks, is there anything U can't do.????????
Yes, I can't play guitar licks as good as you!

Nope, I use my fingernail!
