We filmed this last week before the cold weather hit. Stocking wood up under the porch helps keep it dry and easy to access during the freezing nights! We got snow today! It's been several years since we've gotten any here in our part of Oklahoma! Let us know in the comments if you got snow yet! Thanks for watching, stay safe! God Bless, Jesus Loves You!

Good stuff, preciate the video, reminded me i need to go hit mine. Ive got a set of boots ive had for probably 10 years or better, used work, play, huntin, you name it. About once a year or so, ill hit em with a little cookin oil, like olive oil, veg oil, ive even used coconut oil before, or Ballistol, just wipe em down with a rag. Its worked damn well for me, but I agree I like a worn, rougher lookin boot.
That is great! When you take care of them they last a long time. I am glad you agree on the looks. Thanks for watching!
@@3BHomestead absolutely brotha, god bless from ole Carolina.
Nice, we love Danny and Wanda
They are awesome! Learned a lot from them over the years!
@@3BHomestead Me too
I do agree. They look better before polishing. It's necessary but it does take away from the look.
Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed this video very much. I would polish my grandpa's shoes. This is something pretty inportant to keep the leather from drying out. By the way I love the chair you are sitting in. Good job.
Thank you. To the best of my knowledge the chair is an old school house chair that someone down through time cut the desk part off.
Good video
Thank you
Wish I could remember the name of it, it was a paste that you rub on leather boots to help preserve them, it worked really good, but it wasn’t a polish
If you think of it later, let me know. I would be interested in trying it.
@@3BHomestead LOL
I remember setting up in the chair, out front of a business and getting my boots shine. You can’t find that no more.
That is the truth!
Will dragging them through a cow patty do the same thing
You need to set you up a shoeshine booth
I don't think that is my cup of tea, but it might be a good thing for you to add to your market. You might make a lot of people happy & make a little money too
That polish looks like it might be a colored polish. I like to use saddle soap or just a waterproof unless you like the color.
Yes. It is colored, but saddle soap works great too!
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Hello @3B Homestead. The unpolished shows true signs of work. The polished one will last longer. I polish my leather shoes, furniture, etc. to keep it from cracking. The rain really sounds good hitting that tin roof. Brings back childhood memories. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
That is great! I guess that is why I like the rougher look, but I also give in for the longer lasting leather. Glad to bring back some memories!
I about went to sleep listening to the rain while watching the video 😊
Some of the best sleep!
Wow! Those look good enough to prevent old ladies at church from offering to buy you a pair of new boots! (Comment based on actual events from my world.)
That would be an interesting story! Thanks for watching.
Did the soap gel and make it thick in the bucket? Or is it the Borax and WS that make it so thick? Nice job 👍🏻🌸
I’m always wondering if you just melt the soap and put it in the bucket alone with the water does it stay a soapy liquid? Because I don’t like thick gels!
@laffytaffy2916 so it does thicken in the bucket. After you add water probably an inch from the top and stir it really good. Itll be kinda like a really thick snotty texture? (I'll also add, since it's colder out this batch seemed to be more like a gel consistency, so i stirred it up as good as i could and added water, that helped alot). After, I move some over to my vinegar bottle, then i add a little more water and then shake really well. It'll still be thick but more runny. I hope that helps :)
@laffytaffy2916 and then I just add the powder's as needed in the actual washer. Some people mix it in the bucket but I haven't yet.
@@3BHomestead Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking, I don’t think borax is dangerous at all and WS is an amazing all purpose cleaner, plus I read that borax only really dissolves in HOT water, because I throw a half cup in the wash sometimes and I only wash on cold so I’m bummed I’ve been wasting it! I just don’t like adding both powders in the bucket, I read you should really only choose one because they are just water softeners, so I think I’m going to stick with washing soda to throw into the drum as needed! I was just fascinated if it’s the soap that makes it gel or the powders 😂
@laffytaffy2916 I appreciate your feed back! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Love Danny and Wanda, been watching them for at least 8 yrs, along with Pecan Grive and Craxy days, although she hasn't posted on it in a while. Wonderful Godly folks. Blessings, julie
They are great! I have learned a lot from them over the years. Thanks for watching!
@3BHomestead me as well. They have taught me a lot! Blessings, julie
Crazy Dayz has foreign language messages it keeps sending me. I know it's not Mrs. Wanda.
@lorindahall131 so many creeps out there!
Agree their channels are excellent
Yes!
Sounds like this is less expensive than traditional soap. Very interesting to learn this technique and I may try it sometime.
You should!
I love a good wood stove fire👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
It is the best way to stay warm!
You are encouraging me to try this again. We used powder last time and wasn't pleased but I am willing to give it a shot. Thanks
You should try it!
Hi Colton and Brook! We have tried homemade laundry soap, but we have never made it ourselves. Thank you for your tips! Hope you have a good week.
Did yall try the liquid or powder? Just curious what everyone has used and they like. Hope yall have a great week as well!
@3BHomestead Hi! We tried the powder. I think liquid may work better after hearing your opinion.
Do you h!ve to get a rider on your home owners insurance to have a wood stove in your house ?
@roberttempleton8112 Thanks for watching! With the company we use, they ask if you have a wood stove or fireplace & if so the agent inspects it. Pictures, measurements etc & then good to go once inspection is passed. Nothing extra had to be added to the policy besides the inspection/ questionnaire. I'm sure different companies have different rules.
We haven't done it but I'll show this video to Sonya. She might be interested in trying it. Have a great rest of the week!
I think she'll like it! It's super easy to make! Have a great week as well!
I've used that laundry soap. I like it.
I'm glad you like it Peggy, thanks for watching!
Have mine going into overtime
@@billwaters320 Stay warm! Wood heat keeps you warmer than anything.
Hello Brook and Colton. I have everyone using the laundry detergent. They ask me what do I use to wash my clothes in because they smell so good. When I tell them I made it they tried it and love it. It cleans well. I use it to clean around the house.💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
That's awesome, I think it cleans very well. I'm glad I found it!
Love the beautiful snow and cattle. The snow is awesome for Oklahoma and we are so blessed to see and fluffy snow and not a wet snow. The cattle and the scenery was picturesque. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for watching! This was awesome for our part of OK.
It’s freezing here. I sure wish I had a fireplace to stand in front of. I’d move all my work to there.
I wish you did too! It would keep you cozy
Would love to see the video on cutting and splitting your wood. I love the wood stove but we don't have one at this time but i grew up with one. The wood is a great heat source. Hope to see the video with Cowboy included. Be safe working on the farm.
Awesome! Yes it is.
That looks nice and warm!
It is! Thanks for watching!
The chores must continue! Wow, you guys got more snow than what we have left in our yard. This rain is nuts in our neck of the woods.
That is crazy! We enjoyed it while it lasted!
👏
Thanks for watching!
Looks warm and cozy

Good Morning. It is 🥶 here as well. I am sure that wood heater is keeping it nice and cozy. I cannot wait to have one installed.❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hi Colton and Brook! You have more snow than us! Winter is beautiful! Enjoy it while you can. Great idea to block the window on the green house. Hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks for watching! We enjoyed it while it was here. It's almost all gone now.
Oh boy that’s a lot of snow! Thank you
More than we normally ever get!

@@1scott342 thanks for watching!
Loved the snow.. when the video started, with your voice it sounds like a western movie. It also looked like one too. I really like yalls garden house
I told Colton the same thing when I was editing!! Listening to him tell stories, sounds like he came out of a old western movie lol. Thanks for watching!
Colton has listened to a lot of old-timers tell stories! ❤ And watched a lot of old Western movies❤
Beautiful!
Thanks Cassie!
@ You have several images in the video that are absolutely amazing. They would make beautiful pictures for the wall and even for a calendar. I am watching the video where Brook make gravy and biscuits. Every time I was this video I cannot stop laughing at the humor. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
@cassiekitchenkreations318 It is very beautiful! I love seeing the cows with the snow falling. So pretty! I'm glad you enjoy it lol.
Beautiful farm
Thank you!
Oh wow that's pretty!!
Thanks for watching!
Very cool shirt. Love Danny and Wanda!
They are great!
Having a wood stove means that however much you work to keep the wood supply is how warm you can stay. That looks like a good place for the wood. Hope y'all stay warm!
That is the truth! It works well for us. Thank you for watching!
