Homelessness, getting people into situations were they are exploited. Fake friends who works as social workers or related too become drug dealers to easily sell or use substances, A simple beer and joint is a good cover for criminals and you could just assume there friendly. They target at risk youth and families, working with non profit organizations to control care. My experience was that being homeless after being adopted and having no alternative led me to seek out shelters and non profits. Were they can maintain communication between other providers. You'd be surprised how many young adults leave home to sell there families drugs in shelters..I was trafficking by my employer who knew my social worker while living in a shelter they planned on my working for them as a counselor and I'd move into their house. Promising me cars money and women and eventually a life. All I had to do was sexual favors and id be he's and ended up r*** me. I couldn't go to the police bc its a small town and everything's connected. When I sought legal help they said it was a difficult case and they wouldnt take it. The most they could do was to prove that the social worker was negligent bc I told them and they didn't help or respond to the r*** basically would break there county system if they had to hold multiple people accountable

Great post. This video should be redone and updated yearly. Some great info to add as well could be the % of foster & aged out youth and young adults that make up, as much as we know, those being trafficked. It is upwards of 60%. So, the lack of support for aging out young adults if an awareness need.

As a female I wasn't aware this cluld happen to men. I was completely under the impression it was only a women thing that got sex trafficed no idea it happened to men as well.

I have worked around the area of sex abuse for many years and I think it is a sad state of society where people seem less aware of the sexual abuse of boys and men, though it's talked about more nowadays. Sexual abuse of young males is as high as it is for young females and no less relevant. From experience 20+ year old men rarely report sex abuse for fear of the stigma and shaming from their peers and society. There needs to be far more support for victims of sex abuse.

I know it's not the point, but Taylor is super cute. I have known several guys who identify as at the least "predominantly heterosexual" who were coerced/kept in situations and relationships with men who used safety/shelter/food/drugs and a general lifestyle of monetary tethering to hold control over them. Some guys didn't even know that was what was going on until they're out of it. It leaves alot of guys broken and stumbling through life.

All I see at the moment are litters of whinny little bitches biting off any hand that dared to feed them when nobody else would. Thank you for speaking up about these things. I've long been saddened to see how little people realize the the numbers of boys and men subjected to sexual abuse and exploitation. There are many reasons for this, some complex, but I'm glad the information is getting out there more. It's important. For those who have been harmed in this way, I am so sorry. Know that you have sisters speaking up for you.

Males absolutely are victimized by this. Its a horrific fact that its supply in demand. Young boys are in demand.

Lyft makes drivers watch videos about human trafficking but then they hold it against your driving score when u cancel rides on unaccompanied minors. They have ignored me for an hour literally when I try to get help. How can we turn it around on lyft?

Thank you for making this video. Modern day slavery takes many forms and most people do not realize it exists. It is very widespread throughout the world including the United States. Wish more people would get involved.

I was not a victim of trafficking but I was molested and I told we went to the police and they were very kind but you still feel guilty and like damaged goods

You can tell from the lack of any comments from women just how they'd rather keep victimhood all to themselves.

Myth #2 is wrong, boys in some countries are exploited in this fashion.

Mysogyny, machismo and toxic masculinity have all played a part in why MEN are not or cannot be seen as victims. Men have done themselves a disservice and because of this the worst of us can take advantage of the most susceptible and at risk and boys and men.

I know from experience that the confusion of being coerced, and the interest/enjoyment of the sexual feeling are very difficult to sort out, especially if you're young. For a male, knowing if you consented because your body responded and gave you exciting feelings, is pretty impossible.
