I had a row with my son this morning about Dune. I told him how much I've got into both of them, then he started banging on about friggin star wars being "better" if I didn't love him so much, I would have head butted him.

I couldn’t make it past the first 10 pages of the book, where they introduced approximately 4.75 million characters.

The biggest problem I had was that it retroactively created a massive plothole in the original. The first movie clearly shown the monsters going all over the globe just destroying any & every major human settlement, with the obvious goal of extinction both implied from this continuous action and from the film's own explanation; yet the sequel throws all of that out by blatantly saying 'oh they just to attack this very obvious volcano and the world is destroyed', not only drawing into question what was the point of the alien's plan in the first movie but flatout making them look like complete idiots for wasting so much time & resources in the random meandering while humanity clearly adapted.

A perfect example why tony is so loved while someone like she-hulk is so hated is the davinci scene Tony said "thats ridiculous i dont paint" If She hulk was in that scene she wuld have said "Thats ridiculous, im better than davinci" thats the key difference, tony thought much of himself he was very arrogant, but u could see that it was a fasade, that he was actually really insecure about himself, wich is why he did not compare himself to davinci, basically saying "hey davinci was great but im the davinci of my time" while being humorous about it she hulk is not, in her mind she is the best and most intelligent person there is, and that, is narcissism....

Also, please, it is obvious that Rey pulled out an illegal performance chip that was clearly causing the ship problems. As jury rigged as technology can be in that universe and still work, it is completely believable.

I realized how important sound was when I watched a movie on an airplane but I was able to use my own higher quality headphones phones. I realized the images were crappy but the audio was perfect and I was fully immersed. Same thing was true when I started watching things on a device but had great headphones still. But nothing beats a killer sound system in a theater or IMAX =]

For my sins I am a massive sci fi fan, but the book and especially the several movies made including the latest were I’m sorry to say my least favourite. Frank Herbert wrote many sci fi books and many much better than Dune. I found book and movies slow and boring.

Ive taken calculus, which has differential equations in it, but I have never heard of a “Differential Equations Class” 😂. Maybe some mathematics majors can correct me, but it just sounds like the script writers just made that up to make her sound smart lmao.

I think this video explained why I dislike the character of Tony Stark while most people like him. For me, the humor of him being abrasive and dismissive to others doesn't land, so there is no 'justification' for it and he just comes across as a douche. I imagine I would feel differently if I found those scenes funny.

Calling him a mass murderer is wrong. Up to that point in the movie he only manufactured arms, assuming they went only to the good guys, and he deadlier they are the less likely they'd be used. His expectation was that your enemies won't bother attackin you if you're holding a big enough stick, saving a lot of lives. It's actually after he created his first suit that he became a murderer.
