People seem to have a misconception that Unreal trials are harder but they're more or less just the same trial scaled up to current level no new mechanics you just have all of your toys to challenge the trial at full strength.

Sadly, a Kingdom Hearts AR wouldn’t work without Disney characters. But Retail FFXI would work if you had a group. There are private XI servers that are set in the era of previous expansions, which include the original 75 level cap, as well as the GRIND from that period. It wouldn’t be as fun probably.

I can't believe Wuk Lamat pre-played the 1st half of the expansion. I love the call back to the 1.0 Limsa opening and to our Leviathan fight. I realized that this time we're the last ones to wake up instead of one of the 1st to wake up.

One thing from a just narrative perspective or story, is that I find it interesting that one of the very first scenes we get is the warrior of light activating a device on a ship that will protect them against the lightning, but then later in the game we have to face off against a civilization based on I guess lightning ether, and we don't utilize the technology that we already know we have that protects us against lightning against our enemies that use literal lightning as a weapon. All you would have had to do was quickly popping some of those lightning protection devices that are on clearly Maelstrom ships. I just think that was a missed opportunity from a narrative or story be perspective.

Not actually a privacy leak, thankfully- the IP Kyle leaked was a private network IP, so nobody could use it for evil purposes.

I enjoy discussion videos like this! Personally, I haven't watched any Dawntrail msq streams. Haven't really Dawntrail story as much as other expansions.

The worst part is that most of the dev team including koji himself didnt even know that soken had cancer until this very event happened, koji had to translate everything completely blind and was struggling to contain himself while being struck with the same realization we were struck by at the same time that soken was this close to being taken away from us and its only because of our love for his music that he didnt give up the fight and won in the end. I can easily imagine an alternate reality where people could have disliked 5.3 and would unknowingly bring soken to a spiraling depression that would seal the fate of his cancer, and im glad that such a fate never came to pass.

Going to be honest, their stalling has gotten so bad I stopped watching their videos all together. I used to just wait for the VOD to come out but towards mid EW I even stopped watching those. I attempted to watch their first DT stream however they legit took 5 hours just to get to the part where you choose the first zone to go to. It got a little ridiculous they spend an hour chatting and then spend about 1-2 hours during the stream with breaks or get sidetracked. Then they also take a while on some cutscenes to talk about their speculation, which isn't a bad thing, but they then make a speculations video. Save all your speculation and "what comes next" talk for the videos you make afterwards.

Perspective would leave me believing this is solely an issue with your ISP or a common node shared along the internet pipeline. The downside is there is absolutely nothing you can do as a user beyond calling Frontier and mentioning the affected services (WoW, Discord, XIV, etc) for them to investigate dropped packets, ports, and so on. I don't know if Kyle still believes your interacting or doing the same things is a factor, but it won't be as you're not on the same network or directly connected. Depending on what Katie was doing, it's also possible she never would've noticed packet loss if it was happening. Now, given Florida weather with the storms and whatnot, it's not unreasonable that's the cause of failure somewhere and they physically have to send guys out to fix a box on a pole or something. Tangentially, there could be an outage and you're indirectly getting DDoS'd by rerouted traffic basically being the equivalent of trying to jam 4 lanes of traffic into a 2 lane tunnel. Internet problems suck all the same and I hope you have more than one broadband option if Frontier seems like it's dropping the ball. The odds of both your modems failing is minimal, so I don't think accessing their diagnostics pages will do any good. On Garrett's end, is it possible that stripped bit of roofing could've hit your cable? A nick to the line could expose the signal to some loss, but this also puts us back in the same iffy scenario since Kyle would need some line damage, too. Of course, if a tree or something fell in his neighborhood, that could play a role.

I guess my question is, how did you keep your viewers when you guys only focused on WoW in the past?

I really like you guys but I don't want to put up with DT's msq more than once.

Thespis. Reminds me of the Thespis episode of SportsNight, the Behind-The-Scenes-of-a-SportsCenter-style-show-based Aaron Sorkin TV show back about 20 years ago. Thespis was the trickster spirit that haunted the studio for one night and whatever could go wrong did go wrong, to the point the staff just kept saying "Thespis!" whenever something fucked up. MANY drinks were had afterward, IIRC.

From my perspective, part of the problem is that early DT is relatively week. I love watching your guys' videos and streams, but, admittedly, early DT has had less interest from me just because it is kinda weak. Especially, imo, the 95-96 cowboy shenanigans, which I had no interest in sitting through again. However, we are finally at the point where DT had me fully invested and so I am looking forward to watching yall and seeing your thoughts on what goes on. and I've seen a lot of other messages saying that we are here for you, not necessarily ff14, so do what content you enjoy. I'm just starting to get into 40k (building an Admech list) so I'd love to have a stream or two of that to sit and listen to while I work on those.

Oh definitely. Melee DPS have been by far the most competitive players I've met in any MMO I ever played, having literally zero chill in even the most casual PvE setting, are always the most engaged in PvP, and are about ready to verbally slit your throat if you dare to ruin their perfect parse 😅 But the ones with the truly toxic god complex are healers, we're just better at hiding it ❤

Living through this and hopping between streams while we all tried to offer solutions was a wonderful memory honestly. I know it was super frustrating for you both, but thanks for hanging in there!
