    didn't hear you say the number for the rubber adaptor. DeWalt doesn't show the rubber attachment that you use, but it does have a similar one with a rubber tip - DWV 9120 - I For those of us with vacuums (or hoovers) with a 2" hose, we have to screw DWV9190 to the end of the universal adapter to increase the hose size. Hopefully, the screw off part of the rubber attachment will allow us to screw 9190 to the adaptor - eliminating an extra adaptor.

    • @burwoodbuild
      @burwoodbuild 7 днів тому

      Yeah, we’re talking about the same rubber adapter (dwv-9120) which I demo’d in the vid. Might be an idea to add their numbers to the description to make it easier for viewers to refer back 👍🏼😉

    The one specific area all of the rolling systems fail is the WHEELS, THEY NEED TO BE WIDER AND LARGER DIAMETER to make it easier to move around this is especially helpful in areas that are not paved hard surfaces, such as outdoor work locations. Yes you have to work there too! As a minimum the diameter should be nine inches and a width of five inches coupled with heavy duty braced lifting handles on each side this would significantly allow easy movement in any work environment.

    • @burwoodbuild
      @burwoodbuild 7 днів тому

      Seeing as the systems modular… why don’t DeWalt just provide a second dolly option which has bigger wheels as you suggest for rough work sites? 💡🤔

      Hiya, no personal experience with the Hilti but know they are high quality tools. Use the DeWalt daily and no complaints, does everything I need it to 👍🏼. On paper very similar specs and identical attachments, is the £100 extra for the Hilti worth it?🤔 personally no, but if you have a Hilti account you could probably get it cheaper.

    It’s too big for most carpenters, it would be super for me on the commercial sites and schools etc. Those shallow ones look like spanner drawers etc… I’ve just bought the dolly as once on site, as I’ve poured the slab, it’s mm perfect so can skate around the slab with all tools in drawers and keep out the way of my subbies! Nice video, very useful. I have the same router and a few other tools. However, I also have a Dewalt table saw (7492) and I struggle to find an adaptor that fits over the outside of the extraction port (not an Airlock system). Currently its connected to a Festool extractor but am thinking of the Dewalt DWV905M but not sure that will work either. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    • @burwoodbuild
      @burwoodbuild 16 днів тому

      Thanks for the comment 👍🏼 In answer to your question “Is there an adapter” the answer is more than likely… even if it’s not an official adapter people seem to be using plastic printers to print there own and sell them. I thought the 7492 came with an airlock adapter but if not try searching DeWalt 1004695-90 which slides inside the dust port and would allow you to connect to dwv905m. In all honesty I would stick with Festool when it comes to dust extraction as currently I still think they excel over DeWalt extractors. Hopefully DeWalt will up their came with next gen of extractors.

I see in the comments about the expense .. certainly but I did a rough comparison to the example of the DXL on your video 2 of DS carriers @ €150 /£127each 4 of Tough System 2.0 2 drawers @ €108/£91.50 each 2 of Tough System. 2.0 3 drawers @ € 128 /£108.50each Total =£ 837/€988 you can go up stairs and over rougher ground with this choice but in the DXL there is more space, lockable drawers , bigger tools can fit in them etc, so to me it’s a personal choice between the two as which you choose if you are into or dewalt storage systems smile😊keep up the great work .. Hikoki still has more power than dewalt. Also hikoki was the first plunge router 1/2” that remains true, the porter cable wasn’t a plunge router. Dust extraction well yeah that definitely has them beat, The anti rotation is kind of meh on a cordless router because the battery will cut out under load in any real bind up of the router stalling it. Nice feature but wouldn’t say it’s a make or break feature.

    • @burwoodbuild
      @burwoodbuild 28 днів тому

      Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a msg 👍🏼. Couple of points to clarify… * The Porter-Cable 9290 router motor could be fitted to the existing 690’s plunge base and D-handled base meaning you could make plunge cuts… so my statement was true. *DeWalt has a 1700 watt motor with 70mm plunge cut Vs a Hikoki with a 1500w motor and only a 50mm plunge cut. Higher voltage does not necessarily mean more power. *More importantly to a lot of users will be the ability on the DeWalt to centre the cutter for precision work with jigs. I don’t believe the Hikoki can do that so because of that would not make the shortlist. Because the Hikoki came out earlier it now appears to be lagging compared to competitors… that’s not to say it won’t make sense to some who don’t want to spend a fortune especially when Hikoki have dropped the price again recently.

    DeWalt should have made a 1/2” battery router like their 1/4” battery router, that is to use the same round body design as the corded routers; this allows use of existing bases, trim, plunge, and even table bases. Milwaukee came out with a battery router years ago and it used their universal base design allowing use of the D-handle, fixed, and plunge bases as well as letting you put it in a router table.

DeWalt has made 5S2P 21700 (double) cell packs in 6, 8, and 10 amp/hr for some years now. You can also get 21700 cells in their new 3 & 4 5S single stack packs and their 9 & 12 5S3P/15S FlexVolt packs. I have a massive complaint. Guess what? It is not against DeWalt. however, DeWalt has made my complaint and point extremely load & clear. Mafell spent 6 years developing a damn 1/4" router with a power cord, just unbelievable backward development, while the remaining tool world has decided to go with batteries very forward thinking. I would not be surprised if FLEX brings a 1/2" router to market within a few years.

      I hear what you’re saying… the LO55 is an excellently designed router with brilliant features… but no battery option??!! Seems strange especially when they recently announced a cordless jigsaw! 🤷‍♂️

      Still only in US and UK , German gotools had it as part of their tool fair visit month ago, it's designed in Germany . Makita 40v and DeWalt 20v 12mm routers still not officially in Finland .

    once you go cordless you realize you still need a dust hose that will be just as annoying as a cord.

    • @burwoodbuild
      @burwoodbuild Місяць тому

      Yes and no, to be fair it gives you the option to attach a hose if required. Most routers have hoses that attach near the collet which is annoying… DeWalt attaches the hose to the top so the hose can rest over your shoulder. I found it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the tool. 👍🏼😊

      I think I’ll load my tough 2.0 drawers on the dxl dolly as don’t like 2 wheels on site, double stack them (4xunits) use the top as basic work area, it’s very unlikely I’ll get the DXL drawers as too big for carrying upstairs etc, tough 2.0 normal ones are often too big. I’ll still run the TStak wheeled trollies for electrical and smaller jobs as so easy to run around small areas.
