Hi there, the saga continues! It is the third track with 100bpm. There is something in that rhythm that I really like. Everything was recorded live while playing on Octatrack, Moog Dfam, Vermona PerfourmerII, and Analog Heat. soundcloud.com/perellovemusic/100bpm-the-tribe

Well, 100bpm sounds very nice for my ears and the rhythm feels great in the body. Is it only me? Will be glad to hear what you are thinking about 100bpm. I am currently with my setup of Octatrack, Moog Dfam, Vermona PerfourmerII, and Analog Heat. It will be nice to have another DFAM. soundcloud.com/perellovemusic/100bpm-under-ground

Yesterday by mistake I have found something very interesting for my ears and it is 100bpm. I made some quick sequence that will fit that tempo and recorded that track. I am very interested in your opinion on that track. It supposed to play on the worm up of the evening while people are gathering. Octatrack is the brain of the setup, sending midi to Vermona performer, clock to Moog DFAM. Memory ...

In this techno track, I am using Elektron Octatrack as a drum machine, mixer and it is sending Midi signal to Vermona. OT also sending Clock to DFAM through one of the cue outs. On the Vermona, I am using 3 channels for real-time tweaking and jamming. at first sight, it is a very simple synth but I am discovering new sounds each time I play with it. Moog DFAM is a monster for techno. It is capa...

    Been researching the moog studio and this is the first time I've heard a composition like this. It's strangely cathartic. Well done

    3 years after liking this and I have listened to many more DFAM performances. I just came back to this one again and I have to say that of the many DFAM fans and aficionados out there you are really the one that totally understood this instrument from the very beginning. Probably even more than the genius who designed it. I will never sell the two that I have and I plan to spend much more time with them now that I’ve had this refresher course.

    Minus the actual sound of the synth would this style of music be achievable on the polyend tracker?

    Resemblance of to the early days of Techno. Couldnt imagine the time where DAW was non-existence and the distribution of music done person-by-person, what a state of the art it is

    This is so sick, great work on this machine. I use a DFAM myself in some of my techno but it's a tough beast to wrangle. So unpredictable, and little changes on the controls have such huge impact on the sound. You really show off how patience & restraint - slow, smooth changes - are what make this machine sing. Second the popular idea in comments that a huge pounding 4-on-the-floor kick would have made me leap out of my chair to dance at certain points :)

    DFAM is ok to do Minimal on its own but needs other machines for compos. Not keen on minimal myself as it gets a bit boring but some of the rifts are very interesting It`s missing something I don`t know what to call it, maybe "body", "atmosphere", "sub theme", "accompaniment", patching". Or simply layered with other sounds. Like "Ghost in plain site" says below, you don`t know whats comming out so needs composition, layering. It`s a series of rifts with the same beat, almost the definition of Minimal.

    Imagine the amazing live sets you could play if you know what was going to come out of the DFAM! But I guess that would take away from the exploration and free form expression. Best advice is have another drum machine on hand for when you create a big build up so you can always get back to a beat when you need it. With that said the DFAM is easily my favorite synth!

      I was having difficulty with the Dfam until I layered in my TR8. Even if you only line up one kick per cycle, it ties everything together and makes the DFam sit in the mix really well. Gets harder when you try to do anything outside of typical techno beats, but I'm a n00b and still learning.

    • @ghostinplainsight4803
      @ghostinplainsight4803 2 роки тому

      @@christophervincent77 Yeah the TR8 would be perfect, sometimes you can dial in a nice kick, but I find it's better to make all the other sounds on the DFAM and have a solid reliable kick. also pair it up with Delay and Reverb to really fill in the sound, I have sends on the TR8s not sure about the TR8.
