Mourning Menu: Esau’s Shame (Genesis 25)

We will jump into the end of Genesis 25 and see what ancient tradition says about the stew and circumstances of Jacob and Esau. There exists a handful of oddities in the text that point to this passage being known as a יושב שבעה (Yoshev Sheva/Sitting Seven). The pottage? A Mourning Meal that takes place within 7 days of the death of a loved one. With the added insight of meanings to both “a man...
20 Years and Twins: Jacob and Esau

In the Portion of the Portion, we look at the first ten verses of Toldot and view the first 20 years of Isaac and Rebekah’s union and see how it reflects a great deal the similarities of Abraham and Sarah. From there we also look at their twins, Jacob and Esau, and examine clues of their characters and current misconceptions and misunderstandings about them.

While the text of Genesis 24 doesn’t drop a name, with Jews and Christians prominently teaching it’s the same character. Hebrew Insights: Judah, DNA of the Name

    Really liking these name etymologies. Genesis 38:12 Verse #: 1,132 HebGem: 4,794 ==================================== And in process of time the daughter of Shuah , Judah's wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite. I was looking to see the wife of Judah; but she was unamed in scripture. She was a daughter of Shuah. Now Judah's first son was named Er. His name is very meaningful: Genesis 38:3 - And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er.[H6147] H6147 - ʿēr Usage : Er = "awake", watchful, the eldest son of Judah From: H5782 H5782 - ʿûr Usage: through the idea of opening the eyes; to wake, lift up self, master, raise (up), stir up

    Noah didn’t petition for more to be saved because all flesh had been corrupted & he knew this. This is why is says “Noah was perfect in his generation.” Which means his genes had not been tampered with by fallen Angel/Nephilim DNA.

      @DardensDen Місяць тому

      I’ve heard that before as well. One of the translated commentaries I have says the phrasing “all flesh was corrupt” was even beyond the human DNA, but the much of the animals were, too. They say that’s why it states all flesh as opposed to mankind. I’m of two minds about it. Interesting talking point, nonetheless.

I believe most of us can listen way faster than most speak. Now I've heard on other videos what i believe is a trick. I believe other youtubers will spead up their videos a touch (although I'm not sure how they do it without distorting their voices) that way its not dragging for the listeners. Why????? Adam, Abraham , Abram, name ended with Am God name is IAM the water u drink the food u eat , the house 🏡 u live in the breath u take . God told moses his name I Am.

    • @DardensDen
      @DardensDen Місяць тому

      The ending of AM fairs well in English for those names. Abram אברם and Abraham אברהם are obviously identical in spelling in the Hebrew, difference being Abraham just has the extra added letter, ה Hei. Only thing ending wise they share with Adam, is that they both end in ם mem. In the portion where God reveals Himself to be “I Am That I Am” is אהיה אשר אהיה eyeh Asher eyeh, which doesn’t have a mem in the entire phrase. That commonalities in the word ending on these collective words only appear the names and phrases are translated into English.

    Good message. You are never at a disadvantage with our God..Thank You. I have a question in parallels that maybe you can help with. Sampson had 300 fox’s with tails of Fire a Lamp. Gideon had 300 men lapping like dogs with lamps. Gentiles are called dogs. See where I’m going? Any idea the connections?

    • @DardensDen
      @DardensDen 2 місяці тому

      In ancient times the observation was that gentiles followed their noses at whim much like a dog would search for its next meal. A dog by nature isn’t able to distinguish between what is and isn’t holy. Without God, they were thought to be aimlessly wandering. In the story of Gideon, those likened to dogs brought the water to themselves, letting the water serve them, unlike other cultures that worshipped waters (Nile/Egyptians). Referencing your question, gentiles were called dogs. I’m reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 15. A Canaanite woman is seeking a word with Jesus asking for help concerning her daughter. Jesus responds saying it isn’t good to throw the children’s bread to little dogs, and that he’s there for the lost sheep of Israel. Her response? “Even the dogs eat the crumbs from the table.” I see she had humility, and recognized that while Israel was in the midst of their time to potentially recognize their Messiah was among them, he wasn’t a blessing to the Jewish people, alone. In the story of Gideon, even those likened to dogs so to speak, had light of the lamp, and would use it to see. Even is dogs can be called for service and worship.

    Thank you I also got the direct representation of the baker being killed and the wine bearer being released as bread representing the body of Christ and the wine release being the outpouring of the holy spirit so the cross or crusifix is represented by the baker,then Pentecost by the release of the wine bearer. And it's in that order because Jesus is Jewish so we watch the fig tree for signs of the end therefore Acts was a result of great persecution and holocaust resulted in the outpouring of the charismatic and pentecostal move of GOD so even tribulation will pave way for the greatest outpouring.
