    My 460 has leaked from Day 1 (12 years ago). I just dump the oil out at the end of the day, but since I've got it apart right now, I'll give this fix a shot. The only caveat about using an impact wrench is that it is possible (though not likely) to dent the soft flywheel key and mess up the timing. Nevertheless, I use an impact wrench.

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions 4 дні тому

      @@Jim-Wade Hopefully the piston lock caused by the soft rope insertion through the spark plug hole will prevent damage to the flywheel key.

    Done. I've watched Part 2 now and can only repeat what I said before, I've never seen anyone go into so much detail, and get such good video of the actual work being done. I've never needed to tear down my 460 that far, but I'm a visual learner and this gives me a great idea what to expect if that's ever necessary. At 77, I only cut about three cords of wood per year for our wood stove, so my saw doesn't get the workout it might otherwise. You are now on the short list of creators I think I'd enjoy meeting and spending time with if our paths ever crossed. Blessings!

    You really don't need to keep the lock ring on unless you are using it to position the connector. Using more than 6 inches of wire as a homeowner is ideal; the ground will still pass inspection without adding two additional wires. He is using a metal bell box. I would recommend taping the GFCI with electrical tape. Lastly, seeing as he is using a bell box, I would use a waterproof cover instead of a standard cover.

      Thanks for the kind words David. It is nice to hear from viewers who recognize the efforts in the videos. That said, I had one viewer state that he hated this procedure so much, he was going to cut a hole in the driver's side front fender liner so he could just reach through it to change the bulb. At first, I laughed, but now, I don't think that's an altogether bad idea 'if' there is a way to seal it back up when not in use. I'm giving it some thought.

    • @davidlodigiani7292
      @davidlodigiani7292 16 днів тому

      @@PilotViewProductions Having done it twice now, I must say that although the number of process steps seems completely crazy, once you get to the driver's side headlight access door, it's pretty simple to change the bulb.. The more difficult change is the passenger side where you have to remove the access cover and then blindly remove the bulb from it's socket. Effectively you're putting your hand in the Cookie Jar" of the headlight housing so then you can't see anything and you need the grip strength of an orangutang to remove and then re-insert the new bulb. Frankly, I used the clear view of the Driver's side replacement to guide my replacement of the Passenger side bulb. Both are now safely completed and again, thank you for the best DIY video I've ever seen and I've looked at many for others to complete various Automotive, Electrical and Plumbing projects.
