A quick paced how-to on stripping down a Glock slide all the way. Only part not removed is the channel liner. Yes I meant to say slide, not frame. Yes I meant to say punch, not pin (twice). Hope this helps anyone needing to deep-clean their Glock or swap/replace parts. Thanks for watching, guys. Stay safe out there.

Lightnin' Grip 22LR w/ CMMG Mag Adapter in action! If you've purchased the CMMG conversion bolt and you're running the CMMG mags and have loaded them by hand then I KNOW you've looked online for a faster loading solution. It is painstakingly slow to load those magazines by hand. I went out and got this Lightnin' Grip loader by McFadden Machine and it was absolutely worth the $30. Here's a quick...

What holster is that?
Good Job Brother
Video was very helpful, thanks
Yes the block is included in Brownells receiver. Thanks for this. neded a parts list to start my build. Man, custom barrels are outrageous.
I purchased a psa dagger without a trigger group. Instead a overwatch precision trigger. And I'm loving it
My trigger doesn’t move every time I rack the slide, what could be the problem?
what holster is that?
It’s not the pre travel that bothers me on a trigger, it’s the over travel after the shot has broken. Lone Wolf sells a trigger housing that has an over travel screw in it. Reset will be quicker because the trigger doesn’t have to go back as far after the break. It’s under $30 so it won’t break the bank. Johnny Glocks has some great videos that are very educational. I recommend them. Just curious, does that little hook on the bottom of the Apex trigger irritate your trigger finger? Looks like it might. Thanks for the video sir.
It’s never bothered me.
@ Thanks sir.
how do you like that chameleon barrel... i really wanted one but i thought it would wear off on the top where the slide hits and goes over pretty fast.
I’ve only put a few hundred rounds through that gun but it’s held up perfectly. I like the look of it. The wife liked it more so I let her keep it.
You removed trigger pin without hammer... I'm too... I like it...
6:13 sorry i laughed
Thank you very much sir
Thanks for the walk through on this.
Thanks for the help!
I will never understand why people continue to buy and modify Glock clones to be a Glock BUY A GLOCK! Knuckle heads that make videos modifying firearms that have no engineering background put people in harm’s way.
Imagine thinking you need an “engineering background” to swap a direct replacement part. 😂
How do you come to conclusion it’s a direct replacement part when it’s not even a Glock frame I have never put Ford parts on my Silverado. And by the way I have a Tool and Die and engineering background 😬
@@Bill-rs1zm You said it yourself in the first comment. It’s a Glock CLONE; it has interchangeable parts with a Glock. Take your engineer eyes to the trigger bar and compare them. You’ll see they are identical. I install, repair, maintain, modernize and test elevators, escalators and moving walks and am constantly finding work-arounds for absolute trash concepts from engineers in that field. I’m not even remotely impressed by a college degree.
Wiggle the slide release main reason this video got a like from me helped out a lot
YEah I got out the 9 lb sledge for that pin! Really feel better seeing you have the same mallet on your desk. What a pain! But great upgrade.
It would have been really nice to watch you put it back together 😢
You’re not the first to tell me this. I’ll keep that in mind if I shoot another video. It’s just really hard to work with a big tripod holding a phone in front of me 🤪
Yes,Ruger BX triggers are more than good enough, the guy’s paying 200 and up for a trigger is crazy.. I’ve built two 10/22’s one a takedown and one a traditional on Brownells receivers, love the finish products..
Better than apex nope ow connector with a apex solid.
My psa dagger full S is garbage the trigger is junk n the slide won't release off the fking frame very poor quality all around 😢
That’s terrible, man. Does the lemon law apply to firearms!?
I wish it did😂...they have a lifetime warranty but idc imma try to remove n replace all its factory internals n pray for the best NEVER will i buy PSA again @@sellswords2318
In a few videos I watched the trigger pin came with almost no difficulty. In my case we tried for over 3 hours and 2 people, one pushing or gently tapping with a punch while the other wiggled the slide lever or pushed down on the spring. Still no go! The 2 roll pins were a bit hard to remove but eventually they came out with some persuasion. I'm about to use a bigger hammer and break something just because it might feel good. LOL
I'm having the same problem. Not trying to damage anything so I gave up for now
@@jeffm42o After a few tries I managed to get it off. Then I had to do it again and it was easier; after a few more time removing that darn pin it became easier. I guess it just needs to be broken in, Don't give up and try again, without forcing, until it gives - which it will eventually! No amount of force will help! Just keep playing with it...
Just done this to my 590. tuning in from the UK
Trying this now, my rail wont come out.....help needed
The front slide rail? You got both pins out..?
It's like the rails and locking block is fused or glued in the gun, it won't pop out.....the pins are definitely out of the weapon
@@sellswords2318if you don't have any suggestions, I fear I may have to take it to a gun smith
Be careful about showing the take down of the slide, I have heard UA-cam is not fond of it
5:07
I keep hearing the roll pins remove polymer with each removal. How's your frames holding up?
Mine’s solid but I’ve only removed them once on one gun and twice on the other. I hadn’t heard about that. If that’s true that’s pretty terrible.
@@sellswords2318 I can't attest to it first hand, just something I've read before. I'm still going to open mine up, a replacement frame is only $50 right now anyhow.
I’ll be like #800
I stippled all my PSA dagger mag releases. I rounded the top edge all around and textured the face of it. Much better for a zero cost.
What kind of mags are you using? Glock 19x mags didn’t work with palmetto lower with Glock trigger
Could I use a regular 1/8in punch for the pins?? Or does it have to have to be a rolled punch?? I don’t have one near me
i used a 3/32 regular punch. i did marr the roll pins since you have too slam the living shit out of them
Love this video very educational
I’m glad it helped.
@@sellswords2318 I bought a faxon barrel too. How are you liking it?
@@kungfupandas1 I’ve got no complaints. Still checking different ammo types to find the one it likes best. Let me know what you end up running through it.
@@sellswords2318 I bought the same barrel as you. Which color stock do you think would look the nicest with gold? (Magpul Black, Stealth Gray, or FDE?)
@@kungfupandas1 I don’t think it’ll look bad in any of them. My buddy has the gray with a bronze barrel in it and it looks bad ass.
Daggers are the worst shooting 9mm I’ve ever shot.
I think the one I hated most thus far was either the old Springfield XD9 or the LCP. This doesn’t shoot like my Stacatto P but it’s not the worst gun I’ve shot… and it was ~$300.
Thats your opinion
@@ExcitedOx-wq2no That’s all we have.
@@ExcitedOx-wq2no Yes, it is, genius.
It's not the firearm it's the person shooting it !!! Lol i have is several psa daggers and the cz shadow 2. for the money on the Dagger up grade it and have fun !! 👍
Why ?
I agree the compact daggers are awful. For some reason the full size S model frames have a better trigger
You forgot to mention , that you were suppose to place grease where the connector & trigger housing metal rubs together . Otherwise great vid!
The spring should make an S as you are looking st it.
Um dude forgot to put the pin back into the front of the locking block you can clearly see the light go through the hole
Yes, that’s exactly what happened. It’s not that it’s a roll pin which is hollow which you can see daylight through at all.
@@sellswords2318 what an odd thing to say and claim because if you back up the video as you take out the pins they weren't hollow.... All pins were solid
@@joesmith201212 I assume you own a Dagger if you’re watching this video? Go look at your Dagger. It has 3 pins. Two of them are hollow roll pins. The largest one is a solid pin. No need to argue with the facts; go look at your Dagger.
@@sellswords2318 no I own a Glock yeah never seen a hollow pin before so yeah seems really odd and wouldn't a hollow pin make it impossible to push out because any tool would just penetrate it and wouldn't a hollow pin make it much weaker than a solid metal pin?
@@sellswords2318 and why did you assume I own a dagger? I was looking up videos on how to do an Apex trigger upgrade.
I 100% agree with you. I own both brands. M&P>Glock
So the Dagger is based on g_l_o_c_k gen 3 but not exactly
Pretty much.
Okay i’m gonna ask this maybe i missed it in the video but i’m gonna just guess that the micro also uses OEM parts. Can i put in an extended mag release on a dagger? That’s used for a 43x.
I’m not sure about that. The daggers are based on Gen 3 Glocks and the 43X is not. It has a different magazine release design than the Gen 3 Glocks. I’d research that before you purchase the part.
@@sellswords2318I had a stl for a 43x extended release and i printed it before i got my micro thinking it may need the upgrade. Turns out the micro already has a pretty extended mag release so now i know there was no need for the one i made. Thanks for you input tho i appreciate it big time.
Can I just replace the whole trigger housing and bar etc with the one from my Glock 43x? I’m asking in reference to the micro dagger in that case.
I don’t know, bud. I haven’t had a micro dagger.
Yes, that’s the only way you can is by replacing the entire system
Thanks for taking the time to record this video to how to remove and replace a dagger mag release.
Been there too. Its a excellent gun range
I installed this mag release and now have mag related problems. Getting my mags to seat takes a lot of force unless I have the mag release pushed down. It's almost like the mag catch sticks out too far inside the grip.
That sucks. I haven’t had any issues with either of mine.
@@sellswords2318 it's definitely strange. I literally have to rip the mag out of the magwell, because it will not fall out on its own. Not sure if it's worthwhile to go to a lighter spring, if possible, or go back to the original, poopy release lol
@@voguishcars7150Did you tinker with it? If it’s jutting into the mag well I’m sure you’d be able to see the part causing the issue. The bar is aluminum so a small file would make quick work of any imperfection you find. The spring is seated in the bar well and everything? Let us know how you fix it..
@@sellswords2318 I checked the spring position and it appears to be seated properly. It just seems like the catch is sticking further out inside of there and it's taking some extra force to get the mag fully seated. I figure I'll either throw the original back or take some material off of the catch
Any more info on the $29 trigger?
I gave it away.
Newbie to Glock style handguns: I don't have a gen 3 to drop into it, just a stock dagger. What is the best bang for your buck purchase to upgrade my stock trigger?
My personal favorite trigger for any gen 3 Glock or clone is the Timney Alpha. Some say it’s too light to carry with. Plenty of great reviews on the Johnny Glock trigger kit. I personally have the Apex trigger in my Dagger with some sort of lightened connector. The Timney trigger is in my Glock 17… I do not carry it. It’s my tacticool gun for running courses. Hope that helps.
Can you still put in and remove the heatshield when necessary? Or is it permanently on there? Also how much clearance on each side did you need? I’m assuming just a couple millimeters.
It’s definitely removable. I didn’t measure clearance but it’s not a damn full auto shotgun like these guys comment about: “defeats the purpose of the heatshield”. How many shots will you realistically put through it as a pump shotgun, ya know? 10-12 shots while reloading inbetween even.
the stock Dagger trigger has actually turned out to be one of my favorite triggers lately so i don't even know why i'm here
To give me a view and a comment which is appreciated.
@@sellswords2318 you got it brother 💪🇺🇸
I got a MARS release system - as as lefty it lets me use my thumb on my left hand to eject but it actually also extends the mag release on the other side which I'm used to hitting with my middle finger on my left hand. The only issue is the slightly different angle of the dagger grip meant that the new mag release juts out maybe 1/16" - enough so that once every few reloads I would feel the mag catch on it. Took it out and used a dremel tool and some find sandpaper to grind an angle into the new mag release and now I can't get it to catch even if I try. Definitely a cool system - turns the usually obsolete right side of the mag release into a lever that tugs the mechanism through the handle.
So you were able to switch the mag release on a dagger for a lefty? I have been trying to confirm this before I buy.
Been wanting one of these too, and now I'm sold! Thank you!
