I think we will get to a point if we arent already their that we will run into a wall. A point where no one knows how to move forward. Right now I think it is mostly just decent programming and is limited by our abilities to code. Until it has the ability to write its own code and become automated by itself, it will be a massive money pit. Until we master quantum computing or further I just dont have faith in the current state of coding using 1's and 0's.

The problem I see with ai is that most of these videos are showing ai that is wearing a human face. Ai is so much bigger than that, it is like they are attempting to either scare or personalize instead of improve ai overall. Ai is not limited to a body, which is what makes it so special. While people might be reasonably frightened by the technology, personally I am excited to see what it can do! Many great things can come from this! these ethical guidelines... anything you can ask of it, you can find on the internet or in a library. so if you want to learn how to make a b*** from chat gpt, at best you'll be saving time you'd use to go to a library or research on the internet, at worst you'll learn it wrong and it'll fail because the AI made mistakes. i think it's good the publicly and easily available AI have some filters built in, but honestly, my offline AIs will always be unlocked. i don't need a babysitter telling me what i should or shouldn't do.

I don't see it as a big deal that the AI gives you information that is already readily available. The bomb thing is covered in most general chemistry classes. Anyone stupid enough to take it upon themselves to make such things with bad intentions will most likely end up blowing themselves up in the process of their 'experimenting'. Yeah it's probably easier to just download TOR and use a VPN to access the darkweb if you want CAD designs for 3D printed guns, recipes for bombs, how to cook meth, all that stuff. Way more difficult to try and get something out of ChatGPT to be honest. I don't think this is a game changer, even for relatively stupid criminals. Future models might be more useful for a couple things you mentioned like covering tracks, spreading misinformation etc. All the dangerous stuff can already be accessed by anyone with a laptop and a couple of hours to learn.
