I am methodically going through all of your videos and so far this one in particular is a treasure trove of information. Hey Kevin, as always, appreciate your videos. So, I have a 1990 KS4 carburated Sambar. In midst of full restore. Got to to the point of reinstalling my distributor (mine is a points-based one, slightly different than this one in your video). Anyway, in process of installing new distributor o-ring, I broke my distributor! Right above where the new o-ring goes (I think that part is called the 'tang'). Ouch! Anyway, when I was installing it, I turned the tang to line it up with the off-centered camshaft slot. I was pretty sure I had it lined up right. Dude, I could not press that thing in by hand. My critical error was taking a rubber mallet and trying to tap it in, give it a little tappy, tap tap taperoo. :) The whole time I was struggling with it, it had me wondering if I'd ordered the wrong o-ring or something, slightly too large, for a different model. It appears there's only one model/part# o-ring so, pretty sure I got that right. In your mechanical experience working on these, have you ever encountered having trouble pushing the distributor in with a new o-ring?

Did you punch it just in the middle of the raised punch mark? Looked at mine yesterday and just thought the factory stamping looked backwards for the direction of drilling

Can you swap the bumper from a sambar? Will they fit?

Anyone know how to see if your non-SC Sambar is FI or Carb before purchase? Is there a search with the VIN or Chassis or is there some code I’m missing!?

When you reinstall the rolll pin, i bet some flat pliars would work really well. Just like the roll pin on an Ar15 lower.

As far as ideas, I’d love to see troubleshooting the cooling system on a ks4 esp fan not turning. I’d also like to know the locations of all the relays. Should these issues ever arise, I’d greatly appreciate a video

hello, Im looking at a sambar pickup for importing it from Japan, but I heard engine noises on the videos of it. They say they think its valves and that they can service it before selling it. But I saw your video about rod bearings so I was kindof scared of the noise. How do you hear the difference between the two on the sambar?
