How To: Install an 850w Upgraded Stator In Honey Badger X3 #canam #offroad
After losing voltage in the middle of no where in the mountains, we are finally upgrading the Honey Badger X3's stator and voltage regulator! In this video I will take you through the process and show you how to upgrade and/or replace your voltage regulator and stator on the 2017-2024 Can-Am Maverick X3. This is the upgraded one found on the 2021+ models that I'm installing on our 2018 XRS. Hope this helps someone out there!

      Winner winner! Frustrating that the WP never weeped or anything to sign that it was going. Serp belt started to squeal intermittently for about 3 minutes before I heard a lot of bad sounds. Bigger thing that bothers me is that what got me to buy it was the “lifetime warrantee” he talked about in a video of it…but it doesn’t actually have a warrantee. Like I said, I still love it and would do it again, but it is indeed a LOT of maintenance…as is the rest of the X3 lol

    The last time I sent a rack to ST for rebuild it came back with just as much slop as I sent it in with. Highly disappointed in STs rebuild. I will be doing my own rebuild next time.

    • @thejourneyretold
      @thejourneyretold 3 дні тому

      I LOVE ST, but I feel like there is definitely room for improvement in some areas. The rebuild is really easy, just do it like every 1,000 miles or every year and it’ll be solid. The biggest thing is if you wait for it to get loose you’ve already lost. Once the grease inside gets gritty with dirt it’s like a valve lapping conpound and will really eat away at stuff so make sure she’s always fresh! Feel free to ask any questions when y rebuild it and I’ll be happy to help or talk ya through anything.

    • @thejourneyretold
      @thejourneyretold 28 днів тому

      Unfortunately I have a feeling far too many. I don’t really like T&M because I always feel like I have to go as fast as possible because I try to save people money - then as you know, when you go fast mistakes happen…and sometimes those can be really bad. So I pay people by the hour because they’re incentivized to go slow - and slow is safer and easier on equipment. Little backwards from how most do it, but I sleep well at night so that’s good enough for me

    • @artstrology
      @artstrology 27 днів тому

      @@thejourneyretold Back in the day some customers would pay us extra for getting photos or video of the job. I find it highly interesting to watch how multi-media blends with construction. We rarely took pictures, and the inspectors had to come out for every single inspection. Now it can all be done, from a phone. There are many positive aspects that come from so much documentation. If I wasn't retired I would charge about 250 - 500 for a video of a decent size remodel. There's a niche..

      Actually I only did the bottom ones because they came with the lower control arms I bought. The uppers are still kryptonite because they’re a nightmare to replace. So even though the boots are still broken, I just grease them after each ride with 1-2 pumps of fresh grease and clean up the old. So far I’ve got 1500-2000 miles like this and they’re still going strong. Once I get a chance I’ll replace them with the Keller ones though because those are so easy to rebuild
