@@Motosbymonty it was just a normal ice fishing boot. No problem on the Himalayan. In my GS it was a little struggle but do able 😄

@@martinfoster5163 Mongolia sounds so epic! The skis are best for deep snow, on or off road. It really helps a lot. When you don’t need them you can just use the foot pegs and the skis goes up. And yeah, car studs on the tires. They last much longer if there is some roads with out snow or gravel :)

@@AlbertVicol Go for it! :) If you have a RE, Norrvalla in Sweden should have some later this summer after they are tried out! If you have a different bike mc-skidan.se might be able to do custom made for you. I might do an episode later but for the moment I’m out on the adventure rest of the winter 🙂

Related to the skis; why is it necessary to have your feet on the skis? Is it not possible to ride with your feet on the motorcycle foot pegs?

@@andrewpeter6128 yes of course. But the position is a bit nicer on the feet in the skis and a lot of fun. Also you are more ready when you lose traction. But if it’s not snow for example on the road you have them on foot pegs instead 👍

@@andrewpeter6128 I used the motoz adventure together with glued car studs. They last much better even if you drive some asphalt. It’s one of my back up plans when the engine won’t start with only the jump starter. But it handled minus 28 c on a start so far. But one day I will use the stove :)

@@FROZENBIKERIDE this reply is from @themotoroilgeek: Thanks for the email. I’m not sure if I still have a copy of the study on cold start wear, but the warmer the oil is, the better it flows. Using an oil pan heat pad to get any heat in the engine is beneficial.

@@andrewpeter6128 I just used studs before. This is my first year with skis. So far no drawbacks except that the bike gets a bit heavier. Benefits is that you can drive in much deeper snow. Swe army motorcycle are equipment with skis and can go where ever in the snow ❄️

@@Siberian1-g1g The toes were a bit colder now on the ski. The boxer engine protected them last years. But I fix that in next episode :)

@@ABrider-f1c It’s car studs. Smaller and glued to the tire. Makes it possible to drive in a lot of surface!

@@ABrider-f1c You need to use the fixed and right shutter speed and use ND for light. I bought the kit but it’s to hard to change them in the cold.. Bad design of GoPro
