      @allenr265 Actually, I needed a truck for the business, and the hybrid option was about the same cost as a good generator, so it was a no-brainer. Plus, I never need to go outside to fuel up the truck since the thing can run for a week on a tank of gas...generators are nothing but a pain in the ass, you have to go out in the middle of a storm to add fuel, it's an extra engine to maintain, and you have to deal with gas tanks, old gas, etc.

    So I bought a 4 pin plug to connect to the truck and wired up all 4 wires. Red black white and green. After hooking up red and black to the breaker in the fuse panel and the green and white on the bus bar. The truck throws the code of ground fault. All I have to do is disconnect the green at the plug at the truck and disconnect green at the fuse panel? Or just disconnect the green at the plug of the truck?

      @rockandrattleretreat5830 Hey Bud, We have plans for a pool kit that will dump the heat into a pool during the summer. Also, a damper kit will allow you to dump the heat outside. Off grid is even better since you tend to have a surplus of power during the summer due to more solar, just dump the surplus heat outside. Lots of people mine bitcoin on solar. The 14x80kW air handling units we have installed in Labrador dump the heat outside in the summer (which is like 4 weeks lol). We save our customers about 20k per month in heat and make about $100k/month.

That way you don't have to sit there twideling your thumbs waiting for the ram to catch up to the wood. Just a collar with a locking screw on it works great. Some of the splitters come with them already on.

Also, diet is important stay away from artificial stuff! Let me know how you respond to the chaga! Cheers!

    Really appreciate the video and only commenting to help with the views. I am pretty sure I understand what to do next and will update if I blow something up. Currently I have my house wired so I can run my portable generator with an interlock kit which works great. Now I have the PowerBoost so I got a cable to run from F150 to where my generator would plug in. Problem is there are 4 pins on the cable from the truck and only 3 that go into the DB. So I am purchasing a new 3 pin plug and will then wire that up without ground and I believe that should work. I have ordered a soft start kit which will make the unit draw less on startup so hopefully that helps however l said if it was too much for the truck surely I should get an error when it tried to start. A word of caution - I am ashamed to admit that I tried this method and tripped nearly every breaker in my panel. Also ended up burning up the LED light in my garage door opener. I know enough about electrical to make 90% of my own repairs, however I’m stumped as to what happened. And quite frankly I’m scared to try again based on the lingering electrical smell in the garage. - the main breaker was off - I was using the exact 4 prong plug as you - ground not connected (cut short and liquid taped) - 2 hots and neutral going to the correct prong - the outlet to the house is wired correctly (the heater attached still functions)

    • @jackofallissue6661
      @jackofallissue6661 9 місяців тому

      Thanks for sharing. Did you backfeed through an outlet? Sounds like you might have connected the neutral to a line somewhere... its easy to cross the wire in the plug, the ground is the long pin, the neutral is usually the color of silver metal and the two hots (also called lines) are brass color, they may also have markings on them like G (ground), N(neutral), X(line 1), Y(line 2). What you are describing necessarily has to include a short somewhere, I would call an electrician to troubleshoot your wiring. Something is not right... Cheers!

    • @Shaun-xs4si
      @Shaun-xs4si 9 місяців тому

      @@jackofallissue6661 Thanks for the reply, as most wouldn't take the time. I've quadruple checked everything - there is no way there is a short. I've checked all sources: - The 200amp breaker was 100% in the OFF position - The dryer plug - the outlet functions perfectly (I currently have, and have used since the incident, a 240v electric heater for our garage) - The cord - the cord was a brand-new-in-box L14-30 Generator Extension Cord from harbor freight. I cut the end off my-self, same day. - The plug - The plug is identical to the one you used in the video. All the hook ups were identical. I also checked the markings on the opposite side of the plug - wiring was correct. I also quadruple checked to make sure there were no dangling loose strands of wire that possibly could have been jumping from hot to ground/neutral/etc There is something else afoot here, I've narrowed it down to a couple possible things that could have happened (or both) - Potentially the power surge is what caused this to happen - I'm not sure that explains the loud hum and the electrical fire smell though. - Some if not most of the breakers that tripped were an AFCI breaker. Some electrician forums had posts about similar issues, and its possible that some AFCI breakers don't like to be back-fed. All off the electrical issues I had were centralized in my garage (different breakers). Electrical fire smell in the garage, treadmill in the garage and LED lights on the garage door opener dead as a doornail

    • @jackofallissue6661
      @jackofallissue6661 9 місяців тому

      @Shaun-xs4si I still recommend you get an electrician to troubleshoot your issue, there is definitely something shorting to ground, he'll need to do a bunch of resistance and voltage checks which as a professional engineer I can't recommend to someone who is not certified to do, it's a professional liability thing, sorry. Also, I don't recommend backfeeding your panel through a plug, you should invest in a genlink or something similar. Cheers!

    I agree Jack, that F150 Powerboost is a game changer. Campers, contractors, outdoorsmen..homeowners! It's a gamechanger! Great video! I am planning on getting the genlink system set up installed like yours. Much nicer than running all the chords! Do i have to get the neutral pulled off the chord like u did? Thanks again.

      Yes you'll need to do what I did or the truck breaker will trip. Cheers!

    Sweet potatoes... Yes please :) Hi Jack, that garden is looking great and will get better and better each year. I will hopefully be home more sometime soon, and can't wait to get a full garden going. I will probably steal some of your ideas ;)

      Hi Andrew, We are still eating them now. That was the most successful vegetable trials for us ever. I'm growing 12 potatoes this year as I want to try them outside my fence. If the deer don't eat them, then I'll plant them all over the place next year. Please, by all means, use anything i do that you like. That's the whole purpose of my channel.

    So, You feel that the water evaporates faster with the pot lid on... also... How do you fee the logs in once the pot is on.... do you just take that off and set it aside every so often?

      I keep the pot on to prevent ashes from falling in the pot. There is a slide built into the rack for the pot, I just slide the pot, dump in wood, and slide it back. I think I explain it in the video.

    I'm from the UK. We need some reviews of the non expand it range too like the Ryobi Brushless 18V HP 26CM Brush Cutter, TriArc cutting disc swappable to 2.4mm bump feed spool string. Theres a 36V model under the MaxPower range with a larger 30CM TriArc cutting disc. These models I'm talking about have a harness and bike handlebar style controls. Do you have these models in the USA ???

    Is your oven electric or gas? I can't see an electric oven not overloading the powerboost circuit. Thanks

    • @jackofallissue6661
      @jackofallissue6661 Рік тому

      It's electric...that was the whole point of how impressive the power boost is. It can easily run the oven!

      I cooked chicken wings in a full sized electric wall oven. At the same time I had multiple house lights and 3 fridges on. The unit tripped when my furnace fan kicked on. After I turned off the fan we reset the truck, turned the oven back on and enjoyed our chicken wings!
