Can the Creality K1 print at 600 mm/s ONLY with Hyper PLA?

Creality's K1 is so fast that some filaments can't keep up. It can print at up to 600 mm/s - that's twelve times faster than most Cartesian 3D printers. There is also the option to "Purge to Object" in Bambu Studio, so maybe have a coaster or simple object on the side of the print to make use of some of the waste.

    I've found that too much infill also pulls the prints away from the bed. I am currently trying to fix a large print that has the corners pulling up. First layer bed temp is 90 then 60 for the rest might be too high for Pla.

    I dont play miniature. I plan to get a 3D printer mainly for gunpla & other scale model custom parts, and also some larger scale figure. Resin has higher detail, but its too fragile for gunpla parts. So I'm wondering if Bambu lab printer good enough for me?

  • @AtomicProf

    Great video, thank you for posting. That is an amazing printer. Future printers will likely reduce wasted filament by; 1) using multiple print heads, which would have fewer color swaps per head. And the heads could each have closer colors to swap. 2) instead of wasting all of the swap filament, add parts in the print job, that; a - don’t care about the color, b - care about the color, but could compliment the other prints by using some of the waste filament. That would be fun software to research and develop. And we could put our AI programming buddies to work figuring out some of the choices.

    I have a question that doesn't seem to be answered on any of the videos I've watched... DO YOU ONLY USE A CURING STATION IF YOU USE RESIN OR IS IT NECESSARY FOR SMALL FILAMENT PRINTS TOO?!! Hope I actually get an answer this time...

    • @whozawhatzit0
      @whozawhatzit0 Місяць тому

      FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers like the Ender 3 don't need washing and cure stations as those use a filament that is melted through a hot-end and cools/hardens naturally. Resin printers need washing and cure stations because resin is toxic and emits fumes that are harmful unless cleaned and cured. While it's debatable whether you should ventilate your FDM printer space, the fumes emitted are negligible and pose no real threat to you unless it's going 24/7. Hope this helps!

    I can't say how much of a difference and relief of a headache it is to have you z offset and leveling done properly. I took a shortcut because I didn't have a sheet of paper nearby, it was okay on the first 3 prints but eventually that gap grew larger without me noticing and then I completely ruined a hotend because it jammed up in the fan and nozzle to the point it burnt the wires and ripped them out when I was trying to clean it. I got a whole new piece and it printed 1 object with a few spots not being great and the adhesion to the bed was horrible, then another piece and sure enough it backed up into the nozzle again but i caught it early enough to clean it off. After completely resetting all the settings I noticed the z offset was way too high, so I followed the instructions and used a piece of paper this time and wow it was 1.9mm off. Starting to print the object again and it is completely printing like it should be. Emphasis needs to be put on this step being done exactly as described with paper and all.
