The blue line is in the heart of the city where alot of commercial activities take place and there's easy connection to Victoria Island and environs. I don't understand the red line set up
Thanks! However, I would like to know your experience getting to and accessing the Agege Station? My experience as per November 2024 was very cumbersome therefore, I’m not surprised it still runs empty: ACCESS AND TIMING IS CRAP!
For safety reasons I would not board such a train with seats covering the whole windows! That mean the coaches were not meant for commuter trains!
m
Good! I hope they make it affordable for majority of everyday people in Nigeria. God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Seeing myself on this interview is really cool......😂😂😂. Am really sounding like a good citizen...OLAWOLE ISHOLA..... Nice one❤❤❤
@@Ariksdecima619 you’re already a good citizen 👏🏽 it was nice talking to you! Thank you bro.👊🏽
@@OlawoleIsholaNigeria is an unworkable crime scene full of politicians that are corrupt
i think is normal if you want to see the train in action if you are boarding in the morning go to Agree you would see the crowd and in the evening go to island
Although the project is laudable, but price is higher compared to the yellow commuter buses, also the second phase should be completed
Until the phase two is completed, there won't be much patronage. Most people live on the mainland and work on the island. That's the movement of traffic in Lagos
DO YOU SEE THIS AS NEW TRAIN OR REFURBISHED????????
Good talk my young man👍
What I notice about all the all the train stations is that ,it doesn’t come with walkway for the disables
That is shocking to here and more disturbing that something like that was left out in the project.
Not true, there are lifts.
@@LEFTIE61 That's good then. I was surprised initially
@@hafolahbi lifts ?? I know there are escalator but wheelchair can’t stand on it ,except their is elevator there ?? Can you confirm if there is elevator there ?

is a wrong person to interview
The price is too much that why and the man you interviewed he is afraid to tell the truth
Have you ever travelled out of Nigeria for example 🇬🇧 most of train carriages in uk train are not less than twenty-five years old.
@@lovelytemenu1481i dont leave in nigeria just to let you know , I leave in uk and train is every 1hr and cheaper than bus
@monsuratyusuf3252 To be honest with you I was replying to someone saying that the train carriages are refurbished!... But if you want to educate me, which train line are cheaper than bus in 🇬🇧?. You can name few !. Because the last time I checked train travel in the 🇬🇧 is among the most expensive in Europe not to talk of delays!. One in every five services in the morning always delays or cancelled. For me I would be naive to compare train service in 🇬🇧 with the service in 🇳🇬 because we are not equal in many areas..
@@monsuratyusuf3252you lie! Which train is cheaper than bus in the UK especially London? You are a liar! You don't live in the UK, probably one Mushin based individual

Lovely video🔥 well done Olawole ❤️
The train is yet to be extended to Marina. Until then , don't expect much patronage of the red line.
Until it is connected to Marina through National Theatre as planned we'll never see any big increase. Nobody stops at Oyigbo for anything. And Oyigbo is presently the last station. Secondly, pls change the coaches seat to look like the blue line. The inside seat is not appealing.
Billions of naira was invested in this project. What Ambode wanted to do was extend the BRT routes and bring another minibus. But they felt it was better to invest in trains when the main transportation is still rickety danfos. Even the blue line is highly underutilized. Let the government run it for free for 3 months before selling tickets. Let the people get used to it.
Which BLUE LINE is highly under utilized? OGA make una just shut up with your dead lies. As it stands right now, six more trains for the blue line will be added to the Blue Rail way line because of high demand. People dey talk better thing, this one dey call Ambode. What special thing did Ambode do in Lagos transportation asides that white elephant project in at Oshodi.
Blue line is over utilized sef😅 Ambode was getting it wrong cos how can you keep relying on an already congested road transport system with too many vehicles? Hope you know that Lagos is the only mega city in the world that was without a metro rail until 2023?
Until d train is either connected to national theater or preferably straight to island(siemes), it won't see more turn out, and also increase service trips. Reality 💯
Right!👏🏽
The main issue is the existence of NRC mass transit train that run on the narrow gauge lane. Passenger on the route are not new to train service, so the excitement that greeted the Blue line was absent. Secondly, the red line not extending service beyond Agbado, to places like ijoko and Kajola is a minus. The story will change the moment it gets to at least Ijoko, and the fare is not ridiculously high.
👏🏽👏🏽
Very informative. I am told Kajola to Apapa on the NRC narrow gauge old trains is N750.00. It is obvious Lagos State doesn't have train stock for the Red Line. I read that new trains (deisel and electric) built for Lagos from China will soon be shipped.
Quality video, reduce the volume of the background music
Alright, Thank you.🙏🏾
It has nothing to do with the price of tickets, the main issue is reliability, people want to get to the station with the knowledge they can board a train any time of the day within 15 mins of arrival at the station at worst. Lagosians are more sophisticated than they are given credit for. Once people attempt to take the train once or twice and they find they have to wait for endless hours, this mode of travel very quickly is taken out of thier mind's. Nobody wants to sit at a bare station staring at a blank wall for hours on end. Need for new thinking on this line!.. or new management
Right!👏🏽
Two issues with the red line compared with the blue line: 1. The train coaches are not like the blue line; please order train coaches similar to the blue line from China 2. The scheduling is ridiculous, which has turned the train into a white elephant project.
i think, if the train is extended to the island with reduce fare, i believe that will bring more people
Can't see why the style of coach would determine whether you travel by the train or not.
@ The current redline train is not a metro rail train but intercity train. The original order owner rejected it, then LASG went to buy it. The new redline coaches coming from China is same as the blue train coaches
The scheduling is completely off. To encourage patronage passengers must be able to schedule travel at gauranteed times. Nobody is going to bother with a skeletal service. Whom ever suggested this limited times ought to be sacked immediately
Right!👏🏽
The scheduling of the trains times is rudiculous. Nobody will board the trains that runs only twice a day, imagine missing a train you will have to wait till evening before another train comes by. Whom ever imagined the scheduling must be a saboteur. The trains should at least run every 30 mins or every hour at worst.
Wait till the new train sets arrive, similar to the Blue line metro trains. This one is a temporary arrangement cos it is a converted intercity train. Another reason partly affecting turnout is the pricing, although throughout the 3 months duration it was free ride, turnout was still not so high
Nigeria is an unworkable scene crime
There is no job bro , why don;t the train be empty, where are people go to, they keep wasting money building train station, instead of them to invest on human capital, yeye people
Baba, Appreciate good things
@@opeyemiajayi851 Bro Yoruba people do not think properly, Tinubu already using oil revenue to connect the whole Yoruba land with train ,especially Lagos, 90% of Lagosian are poor and do not have a job, how do they wanna move around, they should try to invest in human capital where by 75% of Lagosians are employed, this will keep all this train buy, Majority of Lagos population and in main land and majority of this people don't have job and some just work within their area, baba with time most of this train station will be out of place mark my word

I assume the red line is still work in progress in terms of scheduling and actual operations. It may be that they're yet to receive all the required rolling stocks to enable them increase the schedule. So for now just stick with the schedule and don't go there to waste your time and then begin to complain about empty train. They have a website to obtain all that information before heading out. By the way, I'm watching this from the United States and as Americans would say, know before you go. In other words, don't just jump out and go, do your little bit of research before leaving home. That's my advice for you and others. Just so you know, these trains, the plaforms, stations, ticketing, etc, are world class much better than those here in New York City where I live. Thanks anyway.
@@franklin3104 thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts 🫶🏽
Good, however you and the guy you interviewed dis not provide the answer why the train is empty
He did sir, although he wasn’t quite sure but he mentioned that people take the train more in the morning when going to work and some prefer to take bus after work as people often close work from 3PM TO 4PM and the train only runs in the morning at 6AM-7AM and in the evening 6PM - 8PM. This could as well be a factor sir. Thanks for watching ❤
