Yarbo mowing precision! Look at those lines!
After running Yarbo with the mower only one time, the yard has nice straight lines! My neighbor says I'm showing off. I guess I'll send Yarbo over to make some checkerboard patterns on his lawn 😄
I love how well it climbs out hills and obstacle avoidance works well. I still have some mapping to do but it is obviously end of season so eagerly looking forward to next spring!

After spending time at a local wood Turners group, I got a shopsmith and an older Craftsman Lathe. I've been trying to learn how to do a few things and after watching one of the guys make something like this, I gave it a shot. I didn't realize that the camera had stopped during the process of applying a finish, painting the hat and cutting it free so sorry some of the detail is missing. I used ...

Ceramic Application to Yarbo Snowblower

I did this Ceramic application to my Yarbo Snowblower module and plan to do the same to the underside of my mower module when it arrives. It is supposed to keep snow from sticking to surfaces and same for grass clippings. At the very least a protective layer to make cleaning easier. Yarbo Maintenance - Add Grease and How to Remove Tracks
Переглядів 681Місяць тому
In this video, I demonstrate how to remove the Yarbo tracks for cleaning or swapping out between winter and summer treads. I also clean debris out and add grease as it is recommended to add grease every two weeks. This is the grease that I use in the video "SG01A High Vacuum Grease": www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B3WHD3YW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yarbo Steep Hill with Snowblower module attached
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 місяці тому
Ran the Yarbo through some more steep hills testing with the snowblower module attached. It does get stuck sometimes when the bottom plate of the snowblower snags in the dirt. But those spots are steeper than 50% grade. I am curious how well it will handle those spots with the lawn mower module with wheels underneath. A test for next spring when that arrives.
Yarbo steep hill test

I took Yarbo up and down the steep hills in my yard that the Ecoflow Blade would never be able to even attempt. It took them on like a champ. My rough calculation shows the first one is a 38% grade and the other two hills seem steeper to me.

Is the controller connected to Yarbo or to your phone?
@KolbeRacing , the controller is connected to Yarbo via Bluetooth. I find it is a lot easier to map using the physical controller. You can do most things manually with the controller within bluetooth range of the Yarbo.
@makeitwill Okay, Thanks. I'll try that. I can't get it to work when the controller is connected to the phone.
@KolbeRacing, I usually pair it to the physical controller first. Then go into mapping and put the phone into the mount and hit start. Then I drive it with the physical controller and the map reflects it in the app. Sometimes the app will take back over at the end of mapping when changing the Auger settings but you can use the physical controller to take back over.
@@makeitwill Thanks, I will try that. Thanks for the explanation.
Love it! Can you provide a little detail on light? Thank you. Merry Christmas and many healthy happy new years
@davidfriedman3962 , they are battery powered fairy lights. I found a 6 pack on Amazon for about $5 www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZNRH572?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
From experience: Be sure to coat the blower tunnel with a hydrophobic coating. Otherwise the snow will clog up in there.
That's some skills right there
@@Pele-speak, thank you!
Neat idea! But please don’t wear gloves while turning especially while buffing with the shavings or trying to stop the turning as it slows down. I know someone personally that permanently ruined a knuckle and joint in one hand while doing the same 😢thing. Limited his use of that hand for the rest of his life. Still neat idea and I might make a couple for my little 2nd cousins if I could ask where you got the led unit. Merry 🎄
@jamesi.fraser459 , thank you for the info on the gloves. I didn't know that. The lights are led fairy lights from amazon. This one came in a 6 pack and use coin batteries.
Are going to have a battery storage at some point.
@mattbessicks7700 , I am not sure At this point, it is still too expensive and the lifespan of batteries is too short. We don't have many power outages in my area so I can't justify it yet. I can see the technology improving in the near future and adding it when costs and longer lifespan are better.
Fooking legendary bro. Keep bringing these
The way it went around those tree roots down the hill. Pretty impressive. I thought it was going to get stuck on the down slope
@OASISWINDOWCLEANINGLLC , it did get stuck on one of the slopes back up so I am going to rethink some of my mapping. But just so glad it can handle tough areas like this!
@@makeitwill still damn impressive the flexibility of the module in the yarbo core.
I also will be doing this as well😂😅😊
Mow the snow! 😂 This is what I may be doing tomorrow, too, since it just snowed here, but I really want to test the mower! It did really good, even on the snowy hills. I see you have the more aggressive track on. I'm gonna test with the summer track, so we'll see!
Does it loose traction in the grass?
@YarboProColorado , the traction is very good. Even with the grass tracks it does very well due to the weight of the unit. It does slip a little on dry leaves, on a hill when pulling the cart with some extra weight. It also may slip in a wet hill that is steeper. But just about anything would.
You didn’t add the lithium grease on the tracks ????
@@jeffstacey4574, the new winter tracks come with the grease on them. In the future, track changes would need the grease.
Thanks for the videos. By the time I get mine, I'll know how to use it. I also plan to use the spikes year-round. I have difficult terrain.
I'm definitely going to try the lawn mower module with the heavy tracks. If I can set the turning to be less aggressive then maybe it will be okay. I have some steep hills to do.
1st thing I'll have to do when I get mine. They said shipping tracking number should reach me by 11/30
@@PaulWerner, Nice! It's so close! Hope it comes quickly.
How far will the follow me track you if you're ahead of it ? 10' 15' 20' i think you could easily add that to a future video. Thanks 🍻
Great review
Thank you
What type of grease is that?
@@oscarniod "SG01A High Vacuum Grease" - the link is in the video description.
I have a request and it would make a great test and follow up video. Can you do the exact same thing but next time where yarbo got stuck. See if yarbo can handle the hill with the snow tracks? I bet it would have had an easier time if it could grip the ground a bit.
This will help but you will have to re-apply in a month or 2 unlike actual ceramic coatings. It is cheaper to buy the spray at first but real ceramic coating comes in glass containers as the coating will eat plastic over time. Congrats on your yarbo I'm still waiting 😀
@001Dually good to know. I was wondering the difference, thank you!
Did you have to keep going back to it during this recording so it could notice you again?
Yes. Sometimes it would seem that I was too far away and had to come back for it to start going again. But once in view it does start following again. This same thing limits how tight it can turn so sometimes manual controller mode is needed. I also want to test out how it handles multiple people in view.
I found the same thing if I go to the side too fast. Hoping in the future it will use the side cameras.
@@jasonrusso7the issue would be if it used side cameras it would follow anyone in them - currently it does not recognise ‘you’ - just anyone (we had it follow my son - it turned 90 degrees and set off in wrong direction. Had to get him to run behind it fast to ‘detach’ from him and back onto me. Hopefully future updates will sort this out and maybe increase the speed to true walking speed.
@@RealLifeGadgetReviewsI think that the maximum speed is quite slow. It's good for following me around picking up sticks. It's built for torque
Who's firewood did you still? Sorry, just trying to be funny. Appreciate your time showing everyone how it works.
It had pretty good control on the downhill, even with the heavy load. That's great to see. I wonder if the more aggressive tracks could have made it up the hill.
@JayWozz , if I get a chance then I'll try to swap the tracks and see what the difference is. But practically speaking, I doubt many would want to rip up the grass with the winter treads.
@makeitwill Completely agree... Just more of a curiosity. ;)
Very helpful video also for working on figuring out where to put my charging dock. I don't see putting it in a grassy area as an option. There would just be a big dirt pit in front of it with all of that twisting and turning!
I started with a dock in the grass at the back of my yard but moved next to the driveway after struggling with getting it to dock well. I thought that I was going to move it for summer use but I believe I would lose my maps if I move the dock so this will probably be the home for a long time. Choose wisely!
@makeitwill a good question as to whether a "reinstall dock" destroys maps, or if you just need new pathways 👍🏼
Very nice! One of the same tests I did as soon as I got mine :) Crazy how great minds think alike. Have you wiresharked the network traffic yet? I've got the logs, but haven't really taken the time to fully digest, other than to be mildly annoyed (and pleased) that the application data is encrypted :/ I was sorta hoping it'd be easier to hack
I'm looking forward to doing the same, to see where the traffic is going :) Assuming to AWS servers.
Nice! I have not reviewed any of the network traffic, no. I have never dabbled in the network traffic so would be a little lost. Good to hear that it is encrypted but that would have been interesting to see what it looks like.
So I assume I need to grease the winter tracks as soon as I put them into use? So basically as I unbox Yarbo at winter when it arrives then change/grease the tracks.
@heikkiahvensalmi1491 the core arrived for me with ample grease on the summer tracks and the winter tracks are shipped with grease already applied as well. So you shouldn't need any right away but it is something to keep an eye on with heavy use and apply as needed.
It would seem maybe they did not deliver the charging station to you? I was missing mine and I have called to tell them. Did you also call and ask them because we all are supposed to get the new charging station.
@kevdog20 the dock? I did receive it but didn't show the setup since it was very basic. Sorry you didn't receive yours but hoping it arrives quickly for you.
I wonder if I could spray this on my front car grille to keep the bugs off.
@@deemedagain maybe but might mess with your paint.
I actually did the same thing and was looking to calculate how much it would cost to charge it in USD.
That would be very valuable information (no pun intended) 🙂 To know how much it will cost in electricity to run every year would be beneficial.
On the data center placement, is there anything that measures the signal to help find ideal placement? My concern isn’t clear view to the sky for GPS but the Halow signal. I have a lot of rock face on my property and my house is also fiber cement siding.
Yes. When you go through the wizard to setup the Yarbo, the data center guide will show a few pictures during the step-by-step guide. Then once you have the data center plugged in and about where you plan to place it, the app will display the number of satellites in that location and indicate how strong the connection is. There are GPS apps available that you might be able to use ahead of time to determine if the location you have selected is showing available satellites.
Thank you very much sir!
Is there anyway the snowblower, lawn mower and the core, base station etc boxes can fit in a large suv with seats down.. hard to make a reference from online content.. thanks
@cnorth3036 , I believe that would be 3 large boxes and a flatter box for the dock. My core box is the only one that I still have and it is 30"x25"x24" - (L)x(W)x(H). The snowblower box was about the same size. I know they adjusted the packaging a little size I received mine. But I would think you would have enough room in a large suv with the seats down. The boxes are very heavy so you will need help lifting them in and out. My only other thought is if you are running out of room you could unpack one or two of the boxes and put the modules in your suv. Packaging takes up a fair amount of the box.
I love this type of information! Keep it up, Will!
Thanks for sharing this tutorial, going to get on this myself asap!
Really appreciate you sharing the links to these
This is great haha
OMG 😂 Stop 😂 Brother with your permission I for sure have to share this on my channel. I would do it in a video in the style where you might see it pop up during an explanation or something but I will link you and your channel in the description to give you credit. Is that okay with you and would you give me permission to use part or all of this clip?
@@kevdog20 sure. You can use it 🙂
@makeitwill my goal is to do many things with different content but at my core the goal across all of them is the same. I want to help others. With Yarbo it's clear. More people need to know this is real and they can own it. Soon I will have more information on this on my channel but just so you know I am a credit specialist and part of what I am doing and am able to do is help others navigate buying a Yarbo in this case as it not cheap. If I can help you or if you know anyone that can't just buy it outright I be happy to help show how credit can be used to make this happen and save them money on their purchase of a Yarbo too 👍. Keep up the great videos Friend, you have my support.
you got different trends?! I had to screw a million inserts into the winter ones...
@AlchemyAles , Yarbo made a new version of the tracks for summer vs winter. I remember seeing that on last year's model with all of the screws so very sorry you had to do that! It just takes a few minutes to swap them with this new method.
Pretty cool, wait until we mount the flamethrower attachment!
Can it play music while cutting?
Yes it can as long as you are in bluetooth range of it.
Hey, just a friendly heads up. If you use music like is on UA-cam you will very likely get hit with copyright and then you will have to take the video down and it will cause problems with your channel.
@@kevdog20, thanks! I did use UA-cam settings to choose music that was allowed to be used in this way. The UA-cam studio makes this info available. I appreciate the heads up.
@@makeitwill that's very interesting cause this is a very well known and famous song. I don't see how it would not end up being a problem. But I also figured I tell you since I saw you had other songs in your other videos. If I am not mistaken I think you will not have any problems till you reach the point on UA-cam when you unlock the option to monetize your videos. However even if you uploaded a video and didn't turn on the monetization so that you could use a song you still could get a strike on your channel for it this is happened to me. I have uploaded a video before that I never ever posted publicly and it was unlisted or private and never monetized and yet the algorithm hit me with a strike for copyright for the music in the video.
you have to do this every 2 weeks??
@Salanan , the manual suggests that with regular use to add grease. That doesn't mean you need to take the tracks off. You can add some to the open areas. I would also think it is just something to be aware of especially if you see or hear it operating differently.
Hey great video. I also make videos on Yarbo and have one. I don't have the 2024 version yet but will be delivered soon. I am not sure if you owned the 2023 version but it definitely did not sound like that. Something is wrong. My Yarbo has always be very quiet when it moves. I would write to them and see what is wrong and maybe you need a replacement or something fixed with the tracks.
@kevdog20 not sure but the others in the pioneer group haven't mentioned anything. I will ask them. Several have the 2023 and 2024. Thanks!
@kevdog20, I got these 3 responses from other owners: "It sounds like mine. The trick is to run it slow and it's a lot quieter. That is/was their recommendation for mowing at night. I ran my snow blower automation today in fast mode for the first time, been using slow mode and I could hear the wheel motors where before all I heard was the auger. From inside the house or behind the house you couldn't really hear either. The frequency of those drive motors definitely gets amplified on video." "They did change the drive motors from the 23 to the 24. They are higher pitched not necessarily louder, the pitch just makes it seem that way" "That sounds correct for the 2024, but louder than the 2023 for sure."
Great video, thanks for making it! BIG HINT: Make sure those embedded old greasy leaves don't wind up on your driveway! It leads to a mess. If you clean it out with an leaf blower keep me this in mind.
@kross1flier , great tip, thank you!
Do you have to grease as often for snow removal? I would hope not
@PaulWerner , it does say to add some grease every 2 weeks if using often but you can do that without moving the core. Just brush some on the tracks where it is open. Also if you notice the noise of the operation changing then it might need grease.
@@makeitwillExactly, greasing doesn't require the tracks to be removed. This was just a 2-in-1 video!
I like the music you pick as your background 😄
@PaulWerner , I noticed my breathing during the video so I may have been trying to distract from that a little 🙂
@@makeitwill 😁 It's all good

@cnorth3036 that is a lawn sweeper by vevor. It's decent. I've only used it once and it turns a little funny. Not sure if they all do that. But it does seem to work when going over leaves and grass and fills up quickly.
@@makeitwill thanks! I wish they made them a bit smaller, thanks for the feedback
@cnorth3036 , this one is the 42 inch. I believe there are a couple of sizes but the unit is fairly heavy.
