I just found your page and this is so helpful. I have been playing at a session for almost a year and some of the tunes I just have a hard time jumping in full blast (or we move from slow to full blast). I was just saying the other day it would be great to find someone playing it slow and then it progressively gets faster and faster (and faster!)! This is amazing. Thank you.

I love this song so much! I've been playing this song for months now, it's difficult and i cant speed it up, but i believe I'm getting better and faster every passing month.

I am currently learning the tune on the whistle. This playalong is perfect to practice and bringin it up to speed. Right now I can make it up to the 6:30 mark. Thanks a lot for the video!

Not only is this approach to instruction / learning helfpful, but the written music for this song here is a bit different from that which I've been using in "The Fiddler's Fakebook" which is based primarily on a string of six 8th notes, and THIS version is helpful to highlight what's likely a type of Irish / Jig "lilt," which is created not only by the syncopated rhythm but also the slurs that are shown. Thank you as this is VERY helpful to mastering this beautiful song!

THIS IS SO USEFUL - Believe it or not, I am a gigging musician (union performer) and my sight reading is terrible. I learn almost all my tunes by ear. THIS is a PERFECT way for me to get the tricks of this tune down so I have a hope of bringing it on board for the band I am in (where I can fill in for our regular whistle player if they can't make a gig. Even if just a simple basic version.) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Thanks. I need something like this. Scales over and over again. I have trouble with keeping up with the intended speed of a tune and I start forgetting about basic things like hand position, scales, structure, posture, bowing...

Would help if we knew the speed of the slow version.

I already love your format and have seen great improvement in my playing using your playalong sessions, they truly are a huge help. I hope I might be able to sign up for Patreon soon but for now I have to rely on the generosity of talented folk such as yourself to assist with my self teaching. At the ripe old age of 68 and only a year of playing so far, I don't have huge ambitions other than to have fun and maybe one day give a little joy to others but with channels like yours I can see that being a reality. This is such a pretty little tune. Can you please tell me what kind of ornamentation you apply later in the video. I'm a newbie fiddle player and only just completed my first year but finding your format so helpful. Thank you. later edit: Aha, just stumbled upon another tune being played elsewhere and the ornamentation was slowed, so I now realise it's a Roll? and woohoo I'm already doing them (just not as well as you ☺ which is why I didn't recognise). Onward and upward, now off to practice.
