Yes I'd be it's caretaker and protector
The first one is me peeling the skin off my feet
I love the richness and drape of the fabric.
Her brown eyes. ❤
The latest research and findings that you've so conveniently left out is Disgusting! At least ask yourself this.... How could someone create an image on cloth that is an actual photographic negative LONG BEFORE THE INVENTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!!!
This is a short ONE MINUTE video on the history and whereabouts, and how it got to Turin NOT on the research. I also pinned a comment about what it has been dated too.
Such a beautiful and detailed work of art. Love it.
How much for this book? Can I order it from Amazon?
Religion is the Greatest scam of all time
Never mind, poor fools Jesus the Christ never existed in person
The patience it took to paint all those little details just completely overwhelms me!! So amazing!
This is repulsive.
Astonishing
Can't believe how some people could paint. That headdress 😮
The garments were remarkable
What a loon.
🌸🌸🌸Sandro Botticelli is my favorite renaissance artist! Beautiful!🌸🌸🌸
Mine too! 🥰
It looks like the underside of a Scottish kilt if ya know what I mean
Love these. Treasures indeed
While i realize a painting, like a photo, captures only a moment in time, and many people look different in them than in real life, I've always found this painting of Anne of Cleves to be beautiful. I personally belueve it's far more likely that the REAL reason Henry VIII supposedly found her repulsive was because his ego was crushed by her not finding HIM to be attractive when he supposedly pulled the "random stranger" act that had always been successful in the past, because his court lackeys (& the Queen's ladies) always recognized and played along with it at home.
I applaud the work of my fellow citizen from Augsburg, Germany.
Research the STURP project that ecamined the Shroud in great detail
Read The Shroud by Ian Wilson. It tracks the shroud from Jesus' death..... Up until its display at Lirey and then to Savoy..... The accusations of firgery were made by a jealous priest
There were laws about the length of shoes because at one time they were so long and pointy that people caused accidents to themselves and others. Can you imagine a fashionable party with everyone wearing shoes way longer than their feet and stepping on eachother's toes?
Too fast....not enough time to see it
Anne exudes grace , purity and youth. She is serene.
I just saw this in person. It’s Stunning! I had my picture taken with Anne.
Her sweet face.
Please. The word is Jew el ry. There's no such word as Jew le ry! 😂😢😮
TO A HAPPY END🎉
So using a poison does not make you a witch... just makes yout a murderer. What happened to you magic spells huh? Typical ego flag waving posers...
Her smile...
Just shows henry had no idea what beauty was she is lovely glad she kept her head
Wow does that looks beautiful now. My favorite thing about this painting is the perspective. I know Holbein must have painted it this way for a reason. Also, it made a liar out of Henry, as she is obviously beautiful, as we know, Holbein painted people tru to life!
Many tests have been done on the shroud, all with differing outcomes. Some date it to the 13th century, another to around 300-400 ad, and the latest dates it around 2000 years old
Bc there's a part of the cloth was remake after the shroud was burned a lil, and bc of that they ended up test the remake part (specifically the knees part) that dated back 13th century instead of the other (the rest of the shroud except the legs area) which ended up dated back the times of Jesus
The diamond ring cut with a diamond the shape of a pyramid is called a Point Cut Diamond ❣️
Pure beauty!
Still ugly
Now the left winged women are using it to kill any white right winged males.
My favorite feature is that she looks like she's holding in a back-draft that could evacuate a pub and everyone is pretending she's doesn't.
Can't believe Henry thought she was ugly 😡
He made stuff up when he needed to
Ann had accidentally hurt Henry’s feeling at their first meeting….at this point henry had grown fat with an ulcerated leg. It went downhill from there though they became friend after the annulment
What kind of tests have they done to it?
Apparently not a test involving an actual human or dye or paint on a face. A cloth covering a face and then removed and examined would result in a giant distorted face looking nothing like a portrait. Don't believe it, put something on your face that would stain fabric and then a sheet over that. Remove. Look at it. Does it look like a human face or a giant goblin face? The only way to get that look of the shroud would be on a 2-D object.
Metatron has an interesting video on it. Recently the found that it is a linen cloth from about 1,950 years ago
It's an mysterious, amazing piece of cloth. Latest data fits the time of Christ and no one can explain how it could be made. Very interesting.
@helloworld0212 couldn't it have been painted on with sweat or something? With blood added at certain points? Could be the correct age of cloth and still be a forgery image. It's obviously an impossibility that the image was created by a body having been wrapped in it. The image is two-dimensional and looks nothing like it should if it had been over a person.
@@helloworld0212 Of course we know how it was made, someone painted their version of JC on a piece of cloth and claimed it was the shroud. However, any seamstress knows a body wouldn't imprint on a single piece of cloth in the manner depicted. Don't believe me. Put a child on the floor and lay a sheet over them. There will be draping from the body or double layering of cloth. Hell, paint an old stuffed teddy bear, lay a pillowcase over it, press the sheet over surface and sides of the bear. Lift the sheet. No perfect imprint of a bear. It's always been a hoax.
Women🇬🇷🇪🇺🇬🇷👋 Why 2 genders are at war???? I dont understand...... Its easier to be everyone alone If 2 genders cant live together in harmony and love..🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 I have my hobbies at least 🤠🚂🔫🚗
The feature I find most interesting is that, while she is dressed in clothing typical of Cleves at this time, she has opted to reveal her face. It was customary for women of Cleves to wear veils over their faces and would have taken some convincing for Anne to sit barefaced for a portrait. You can, however, see a veil pulled back or a vestigial veil included in her headdress.
The gown is absolutely stunning! However, my favorite is the diamond ring in the shape of a pyramid! Such a tiny elaborate detail to this scrumptious portrait! I love reading about her life and the kindness she showed everyone around her. She treated H8’s son and daughters with kindness and respect. She treated her staff very well and compensated them in her will.
Love this portrait even more now.
I have always thought it was a great way to wear the same thing outdoors to indoors. It's not like you could grab things off the rack. Everything was handspun and handwoven, and I don't imagine anyone but the rich had several sets of clothes. I've been spinning and weaving in imitation of medieval textiles for 25 years and I can tell you, it's a good thing they're so durable, because 'labor intensive' is an understatement. As I make these things, the practicality and inventiveness of the people of the past becomes obvious. Let's say you needed that hood for the ride to town on some chilly drizzling day, but you had business with officials or were going to church, so you wanted to present yourself looking well. You could roll up the hood into a chaperon and not be too warm or clammy with that damp thing on, yet also not be chilly if the hearth isn't as close as you'd like. The hood gets a chance to dry out a bit, you look a bit more like you didn't just roll in from the muddy road, and if it's your best deep-dyed scarlet worsted cloth that cost you a bundle to obtain all the way from Lincoln, you don't need to worry about somebody making off with it, because it's on your head. 😉
I thought it's a man....
So is this the picture that Henry fell in love with?? Contrary to her real appearance? Because she doesn’t look bad in this one!!
Apparently, she was quite beautiful… and what actually had happened was that when she was en route to England, Henry disguised himself as a peasant and approached her in an inn, kissing her. She recoiled in disgust, her religious background was modest in the extreme and she was of course not to be kissed by anybody but her betrothed… He had assumed she would recognise him but chances are the portraits she had been shown of him were very flattering indeed so of course she was like “who tf is this creep?” His ego was hurt so he concocted the story of her cat fishing him when in fact it was the other way around. This is further qualified by the fact that he had expressly asked his portraitist to paint her and her sister in as real and as unflattering a light as possible, yet he still selected her. He really was the worst!
The way the fabric folds show up once cleaned is amazing
She had a happy end compared to the others.
This is specifically gospel covers for liturgical use
